I understand this is just a joke video, but when you sin for Atreus believing his father is human, it completely rejects the fact he’s never been outside his woods. Classic Dartigan, completely ignoring things that are obvious to everyone else for the sake of "comedy".

I feel like you've never played the game with some of these. Either that or you weren't paying attention. Sindri explains later on that their dwarf magic allows them to travel between realms and even makes himself 'invisible' at one point by stepping between realms to show Atreus before telling him the invisibility doesn't work on dragons. They don't need the gate portals or the world tree.
The fact that you have the moment in the video and still question how Sindri and Brok move around before the characters is either fully for the purpose of being able to count it as a 'sin' or ignorance.
Baldur is not known as Baldur in the first encounter, only the stranger and while he might be bad at negotiating, he's not asking anything of 'Kratos'. He's there to find the giant he knows is living in the woods - that Kratos and Atreus have never been out of so no, they didn't see the protection spell - not Kratos. He was looking for Laufey, who Mimir states later was a legend among the aesir. He had never seen her so Baldur obviously hadn't either and mistook Kratos for her, the last of the giants.
He threw the axe in the water because the axe returns to him by magic. He wasn't worried about losing it. Atreus thinks his dad is still human after crazy physical feats because he's never seen anyone but his parents.
No one ever says how much time has passed between GOW 3 and this game so why assume it's only been a few years or 'not that long'? Kratos is a God. It makes more sense to believe this game took place hundreds of years after the last game instead of trying to tie everything into a conventional, mortal timeline.
I get that this is a joke video but damn. I feel like you just watched some cutscenes and made the video.

Also, a lot of the sins given should be removed when you find out Faye knew EXACTLY what was going to happen. She knew every single footstep and hand placement Kratos and her son were going to make.
I love game and cinema sins but this one is by far the weakest I've seen.
Sidenote. This is my 2nd favourite game of all time, just behind Left 4 Dead 2. God of War is a masterpiece.

    • @leonpaelinck
      @leonpaelinck 4 года назад +20

yeah but the powers of the two dwarves is vague and illogic. does walking between realms mean they're invisible? or does it mean they can quickly travel between realm? but does that mean the dragon could do the same? then why didn't he turn invisible during the fight. also it still doesn't explain how quickly they move from place to place in the same realm

    • @ReadyPlayerDog
      @ReadyPlayerDog 4 года назад +60

@@leonpaelinck so as far as I can gather from the writers (And I may have misunderstood some of it) the dwarves move in the space between realms. So they can travel to other realms almost instantly and also travel in the current realm the same way. This also allows them to go unseen. Dragons used to be dwarves (I think, though not 100% on that) so that's probably why they can see a dwarf when he/she is 'invisible'. But since the dragons have kind of regressed due to whatever magic turned them into a dragon then they are no longer smart enough to travel between realms like they did before.

Shannon another thing, he questions the world serpent speaking the dead language.
Well we find out later that “boy” is Loki, father of the world serpent and he also is shown to learn the “dead” language in the last fight. If anything you should have sinned Loki for being a dick and only teaching his child a dead language just so he can learn it in the past once it goes back in time.

Baldur isn't looking for Faye, he's looking for the last giant in Midgar (excluding Jörmungandr). Gender neutral. He mistook Kratos for the giant. I get that this is hard, even impossible, to catch the first time you play that scene, but surely it's easy to understand what he means with "I thought you'd be bigger" and "I thought your kind was supposed to be so enlightened" once you finished the game.

    • @FrenkieWest32

For your sin regarding "I remember Kratos being a lot softer to his daughter and his surrogate daughter, Pandora," this is actually a reference to Greek history. Historically, Spartans were much harder on their sons than they were on their daughters, because their sons were expected to become the next generation of soldiers. If you were a Spartan citizen, you were a soldier and nothing else.

Maybe he's training Atreus in a way that if Kratos is forced against his will to try to kill Atreus, he can fight back pretty well, unlike his daughter. I mean, think about it. Kratos has little to no protection against a bow, and that shock arrow seemed to harm him a lot. And since Kratos said that he would gladly let Atreus kill him if it meant he would live, what if it's all foreshadowing for Kratos to have his mind taken over by another God to attack Atreus, but Atreus has to kill him, as foreshadowed by dialogue and the painting made by the giants, which would also give Atreus a motive to hunt down the Gods and become a new Kratos?
It's probably not going to happen, but it's just a theory. A GAME THEORY!

the "omega is every travel rune" that is NOT the omega symbol. it is a norse rune for "transport" or "portal", and it looks almost exactly like the omega symbol. it is one reason it is used for the games symbol, since the omega symbol was the original symbol. the things that change is the small runes INTERLACED into the rune. each new one has the small runes in different places, and one is brighter at the point the circle inter-laps [at the bottom of it]. THAT is the travel rune.
one transport rune, with 9 travel runes interlaced in it. the bottom of the transport rune is the "key slot", where the travel rune is they "key". change the "key" around, the travel gate will read the new key, and turn to its door, and open the path.

The Boar that Freya said is the last of his kind, is *NOT* an actual Boar! Before leaving after helping with the herbs you can talk to her and she tells you that this is not the true form of Hildisvini. He was once able to take any form he chose, but he's so old and has been a Boar for so long, that she fears the Boar may be all that remains... Also, you keep saying that Baldr is looking for Kratos' Wife, but even Baldr is unaware of that. He was sent to their home and told to find the last Giant of Midgard. When Kratos open's the door he said, "I thought you'd be bigger. But you're definitely the one. Long way from home, aren't you?". He says this not because he knows Kratos is a God from another country, but because he thinks that Kratos is the *Giant* from *Jotunheim* ! Honestly the only God that is aware the two of them are Gods, is Freya and no one else... Freya's home was beyond the Protective Stave that was around their home, Atreus never left it till the day of his Mother's funeral. And it's never mentioned how far Kratos traveled from their home... Time in Hel is different from that of Midgard. Since Brok can travle through the Realm between Realms, he was able to go to Midgard and return to Hel in just a couple seconds.
So with this knowledge, you actually have *4* sins too many on your list. However, beyond that, I fully agree with all other sins. *;-)*

The yellow painting that indicates climbing ledges etc. can be explained. Cory Barlog has said in interviews that Faye left those markings to guide Kratos and Atreus. She walked the path she foresaw them taking and literally marked the way for them. Yellow is Faye’s signature colour. Not sure about the chains though, perhaps she’s responsible for them, too. It would make sense she’d do everything in her power to help them, for the sake of her family and the preservation and protection of Jötunheim.
EDIT: got to the end of the video, lol. At least the dev team came up with a good/plausible explanation to conveniently placed “climb here” markings. Love the sin about vapour rub. That shit’s evil.

but i understand that faye could see the future, that raises the other question, does that mean she meant for kratos to also go do all the side quests. releasing the dragons and such. i mean that doesn't sound very imperitive to kraos taking the ashes to yotenheim.

I also saw them as ways to cut areas into multiple loadable areas. Any time you have a boat ride into a small cavern, run around the tree's branch, crawl in a small tunnel or have to lift a fallen tree/pillar it really is just the game being cut in sections.

The thing is at the beginning, you know that Baldur was looking for a giant ordered by Odin, but neither he or Odin knows what the giant actually looks like until Baldur met Kratos. Baldur assumed Kratos IS the giant he is looking for hence "I thought you'd be bigger, but you are definitely the one" So it makes sense that Baldur would later ask Mimir about Kratos and his son because he doesn't actually know anything about Faye or her existence

Dorko Weirdconsin I think his statement meant that he knew kratos was a Greek god. Especially since he follows up with saying “I thought your kind was supposed to be so much more enlightened, smarter, and better”. Then also as he fights Baldur he flat out says “who are you afraid I’ll find” so he knows it’s not Kratos.

Nah, he did think Kratos was the giant and had no idea of his Greek godhood. Baldur was sent to retrieve Faye who we later find out to be the giantess Laufey. The whole “your kind” speech was referring to the giants, whom in this mythos were seekers of knowledge and wisdom, and were known to be more civilized than the “Aesir” gods: Odin, Thor, Baldur and the like. The “who are you hiding” was only interjected during their fight when he was hurled through the roof of Kratos’ cabin and asked “why were there two beds?”.

0:45 Carrying his second wife's ashes again shouldn't be a sin. If anything it should be a praised for having history repeat itself, but in a more peaceful manner. -1
1:40 More like he's trying to teach him a lesson about following through with responsibilities. -1
2:15 The whole story isn't about Kratos leading by example, half the time, he's teaching Atreaus based on his own mistakes. -1
2:29 Baldr assumes they know what he wants because Baldr knows , spoiler, Kratos' wife was a giant with prophetic powers. -1
That said, Baldr still believes Kratos is playing dumb even as they are killing eachother in an epic brawl of gods. +1
2:48 to be fair, his identity hasn't been revealed yet. -1
Also, I was remotely familiar with Norse myth before playing this but hadn't heard about how hard he was to kill, just that he dies which kicks off Ragnarok. Not gonna sin the game for that, just you for assuming too much.
5:06 I don't see why he wouldn't try, seeing as how Kratos can recall the axe like Mjolnr. He doesn't get it back immediately, but he has no reason to believe he wouldn't. -1
6:05 As you will later find out, Dwarves can travel between realms at will, and that temple exists in all nine realms, obviously it's not submerged in all of them. -1
8:24 I don't see why all origins stories can't be true. Every origin can just apply to each region the mythos takes place in. -1
    11:07 Who cares? That's shot's my wallpaper now. -1
11:11 That is a joke about video games in general. Where as gamers call infinite inventories "magic satchels" Sindri has a literal one. Applause -1
11:58 She was a prophet, she didn't have to be specific about which mountain top, because she knew they would eventually get there, wether she was specific or not. -1
13:49 Well, who are they going to question about her will? Her ashes? And... again.... SHE WAS A PROPHET. -1
16:40 I'd always assumed they were the same weapons throughout all his journeys. GoW1 They were stripped away by Ares, but he's given the "blades of Athena" soon after. Athena probably just nabbed them from Ares and gave them a fresh golden coat while Kratos walked to that cliff before giving them back. Then those blades got fucked up in the River Styx and were immediately repaired into the "Blades of Exile" in Gow3. So yeah, Always the same weapons just a new title with each repair job. -1
17:18 Norse mythology does mention him and all the other trolls though. So you're not really sinning the game, you're sinning mythology. -1
18:29 Because if you were paying attention, you'd have learned Tyr wants to test the goodness of any gods who came to retrieve the rune. Odin and sons would probably just let each other die in this trap, and the rune wouldn't become available to them. -1
19:40 It was a bit too sudden, but getting stabbed and sent to any version of Hell would be pretty humbling for a child. -1
20:45 In Norse Mythology Thor's hammer was made out of a pigskin, some gold, and eight duplicates of Odin's Ring. You have no idea what these two are capable of. -1
22:13 I refuse to allow you to sin any part of that spiritually maturing scene. -1
22:19 YOU SAID IT YOURSELF THIS TIME!!! SHE WAS... *inhales* She was a prophet. Nothing was left to chance. -1

  • @safwanrana1215
    @safwanrana1215 4 года назад +10

I know this is a joke video, but some of these sins honestly hurt my soul because of how unjustified they are. For example, Kratos being more harsh with Atreus than Calliope makes more sense than if he wasn't, because Spartans boys train from birth and receive harsh treatment daily, whilst daughters are taught how to fight *and* get a small bit of combat training to protect their village. The kind of cold treatment Atreus receives here is extremely loving by Kratos' standards.
Also, the sin about dwarven travel between realms is explained right in front of you, yet you still feel the need to sin it? It's pretty simple. Dwarven magic is so incomprehensible for humans that they do not understand what they are seeing, so they see nothing at all. The reason why dragons can see dwarves but humans can't is like tracker dogs being able to smell for clues whilst humans can't. It makes perfect sense.
Also, there is technically no such "convenience" in this game, as everything you set out to do is controlled by fate. So let's say you decide to not complete story missions for over a month, instead focusing and completing all side missions before you face Baldur at the end. Well, technically Faye has already anticipated that, hence all the ledge markings everywhere you go. No matter how far you steer away from the main objective, or how convenient the main objective seems, Faye has already planned for it. Because everything that happens in the game was *meant* to happen.
Finally, because I can't keep going on forever, Baldur had never seen Faye in his life. Baldur was sent by Odin to find a giant in Midgard because that would be the only way for Baldur to undo the magic Freya had put on him. Odin was lying, of course, but bear in mind, Odin didn't say, "Go find the giant known as Laufey. She's a woman, who has an axe, and she's living in Midgard. Can't miss her." All he said was, "Go find the giant hiding in Midgard." Much more vague, which is why Baldur mistook Kratos for being the giant in question. Everything Baldur says to Kratos when they first meet clearly tell us he is looking for a giant, but at the time, we thought he was talking about Kratos, which is a testament to how fantastic the dialogue in this game is. For example, when Baldur says, "Thought you'd be bigger...", he's referring to how Giants are typically big creatures, but we thought he was smack-talking about how the Ghost of Sparta wasn't as big as he thought he'd be. When Baldur says, "I thought you're kind was supposed to be so enlightened-", he's referring to how the giants were supposed to be the most intelligent of all the races, but we thought he was talking about how the Greeks were so enlightened in their science and philosophy.
Oh yeah, and for the love of God (of War), do some research before you post these videos. The only way to make these videos funny is if the sin is completely justified and is actually a flaw within the game's story. Making unjustified sins makes the video irritating to watch. It doesn't matter if you only sin once, as long as it is a good sin. E.g. Kratos never tried to look for the Blades of Chaos, instead trying as hardest as he could to throw them away, or banish them for good. But because the Blades are cursed, they always found their way back to him, which is why he keeps them tucked away in his home, as a reminder of the atrocities he has committed.
But all in all, it was a good video, and it had me laughing a couple of times. And remember what Kratos has said: "Speed costs accuracy.".

I think the Vikings used to refer to their “tattoos” back at the time as symbolic runes that they’d “tattoo” on their bodies, hence, I think by asking about a “tattooed man” it’s pretty obvious that it’s one that’s different, since Kratos’s tattoos latterly means nothing to them and the Norse, but to him personally from his good old times back in Ancient Greece. Although, most of the sins in this video are faulty, but it just seems like the team behind the channel never actually played the game known that almost in every 5 minutes during the gameplay there’s something about the story to be explained, either through Mimir’s tales, collectibles, lore written in runes that boy adds to his journal, and mostly from playing the damn game and exploring the story further, but it was a fun video none the less.

@@arandomperson3840 "tatooed man" wasn't specific. if i was to search a bald man, even if there are no other bald men around,i won't address him as such. it'll make more sense if baldur just refers him as "the fugitive giant" or "man who kicked my butt earlier"

You gotta love the subtle foreshadowing in this game.
First, as many Norse people would know, Baldur dies by mistletoe, which is why the woman (freya, I think it was) tells Loki/Boy to destroy the mistletoe arrows.
Also, Boy asking if he can turn into an animal, then at the end of the game showing he is Loki is amazing.
This, this is what a good game should be.
