I heard some Demo's with the MT-48. The Music sounded Awesome even over crappy RUclips. Simply Jaw Dropping.

thank you for your video, picked one up yesterday. pretty amazing. no interface is perfect but this is as close as it gets as a 35 year sound mixer with great client list.

Great review! I'm looking forward to the other videos in the series. While this unit is WAY more than I'm prepared to spend at the moment, it does make me consider whether I should hold off on upgrading my current interface and save my pennies for a few more months. As an additional use case, I'm wondering if this unit would be a good fit for a performing singer/songwriter. Just pop it on a mic stand in front of you and all of the functions of a compact mixer are in there! That would make it even more valuable.

How it integrates with Studio One? Just plugin it in like any other interface and studio one will see it.
Good afternoon! Please tell me if there is a loop back loop function on the card to send sound from any daw to obs, for example, usually on other cards such a function eats the first two inputs, which is not very pleasant. I will be grateful for the answer

Hi Dave, very good review :) between MT48 vs Apogee Symphony Desktop, in terms of preamp mic and converters, which do you choose?
No clue. I never used the Apogee. I will say that the Neumann is just fine and you don't need anything better.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy I replaced my Apogee Symphony Desktop with the MT48 because the software was too problematic. They both sound great, but the MT48 has been zero fuss. With both units the software is optional, but the MT48 is significantly better on the hardware and software front.

@@mattcorey3626I haven’t had any issues with the Apogee SD but the Neumann looks cool. You can bypass the preamps on the Apogee though. I don’t think you can with the Neumann
@@mattcorey3626So would you say it's worth the change in terms of converter quality? I have SD and I was thinking of changing to MT48 purely for 2 extra inputs and outputs.
Someone Please tell Neumann they need to offer the MT 48 in a 1- rack unit with 12 preamps! It would be Game Over for All Small World-Class Studios. I would Love to see this happen at NAMM very soon! GOD Bless!

What you're talking about is called the Merging Hapi II and can have 16 preamps + 16 outs. If you want to have the MT48 type unit for cue mixes (and obviously and extra 4 IO and headphone amps) you buy the Anubis and they connect via cat5.
It also offers the ability to store sonarworks sound ID within it (so no software running on computer), a de-esser addon, Eventide black hole add-on, and a couple other things.
Merging makes great products ;)
For that full setup you'd be looking at about 9.5k msrp, 8k if you get a deal, or 6-6.5k used.
A less expensive setup would be the MT48 + some adat IO (4IO at 96k or 8IO at 48k).
If you don't care about running more than 48k or having more outputs, you could add something like an isa828 with a/d card, or ams 1073opx.
That setup would be more like 5k and offer preamps with character to compliment the MT48 clean pres.
Lmk if you have any questions. We run a Merging Horus with 48IO at our studio for the past 3 years and love it!

I assume you can’t bypass the preamps. I like that option my apogee symphony desktop. I do want to give this a try though. I will see if I can get zzounds to send me the Neumann for review.
I have heard that but I need to reach out to Neumann and confirm that because I have never heard of an interface where you plugin in a 1/4 cable into the combo jack and it DID NOT bypass the preamp. That is pretty standard on most audio interfaces
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy I know what you mean but I was surprised when I found out I couldn’t bypass the preamps on my Apollo X4 unlike the rack units.
No sweat. You can select mic or line in. So go ahead and use your Neve 1084 to feed the great converters in the MT48. That being said the preamp in the MT48 is very nice.

Dave. It sounds like you are sold on the mt48. I am sure you are not sending this back. What did i tell you. Waiting for the mt48 video on the other channel with the 2 track mix. 😂. I am sure the i was wrong video is coming too. But for your studio you will need the merging hapi or horus. With several cards for 8 in and out each one. The headphone amp is the same quality too
I love how you think you know but you really have no clue....LOL. I am not keeping it for my studio. I dont need it. Its a wonderful interface if you need an all in one desktop unit. That is what this video is about.
