This interface is . When it launched, my initial impression was that it was seemingly really expensive when compared to other interfaces with similar I/O. But the more I learn about it, the more evident it is that this thing is so packed with advanced features and capabilities it's really in a class by itself. Seems like it could also save ya a boatload of $$ on plugins with the crazy robust internal DSP. My wallet is currently in the fetal position under my desk, sobbing. 😆
These are some of the best raw recordings I've ever heard, wow. And people talk the 102 down, it sounded perfect on those vocals. Also what reverbs did you use on the guitar?

Thanks for the detailed review , David. I saw the spike on the meters when turning on/off 48V. I noticed that on my units as well, and it produces a noticeable pop in the headphones. I don’t remember that from the UAD Apollos ever being an issue, so that’s a new one to me. Is that normal or something Neumann should address!?
This was going to be my no-brainer interface if I was only doing stereo. For Atmos it ends up being too high in price once I find a Dante converter with AES67 support... but, I might forget Atmos for now and upgrade to Atmos when I can afford a proper system and be able to add the Merging Technologies converters. Currently, for Atmos on a budget I'm looking at Antelope. I was looking a AVID Carbon also if I can find one cheap enough second hand. Although I'd be limited to 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 with that one but low latency on plugins will make a huge difference with recording. The only thing I'm being stopped by is the quality of the converters of this... why I'm even thinking of only sticking with stereo for now. My Atmos setup will only be for production not mixing anyway.
Can't wait for the black version. ;) Too bad they already have the Anubis.. So they might not release one... But the Anubis doesn't have the same features.
IMHO....this s up there with the Prism Atlas with the atlas having a small edge to my ears and limited time listening. WORLD class.....Merging technologies and neuman was a great match
What about external hardware??. I'm looking on this to upgrade my emu1616m, but i use a pair of mono compressors and a stereo one. Does it worth to buy this for this purpose??. How do you manage the conecctions . Thanks for your review!
I've been using the MT 48 for three months, and I have to say you get what you pay for in life. It has by far the best sounding, crystal clear AD/DA converters, headphone amps, mic preamps, and monitor amps I've ever heard. I have a hybrid home studio with a medium amount of analog hardware gear. I was already using an expensive, high-end multi-channel audio interface and could hear the improvement in sound clarity immediately. I was stunned. My Neumann monitors sound even better, as does everything I listen to now in headphones. The already available firmware updates made it perform even better, fixing the slightly sluggish touch feedback and adding new colors to the light-up buttons. The shipping box has already been recycled, because this ain't going back. Thanks for your informed review, David, and congrats on the new studio! 🤘🏻🧠🤘🏻

Uncle Ted should probably dive into some metal music. Regardless, this is a stress test for interface and microphone, human voice and screams are one of the most stressful sources for these two pieces of equipment. It doesn't matter who likes what, the video is about how the gear performs

I have the Anubis and the hapi, converters… The clarity of the D/A is the best that i have heard so far…I use them for mastering duties….

Many interfaces do that, many outboard preamps too, as a general rule, you have your volume turned down on your monitors when pluggin gear

Dyn Range: 129dB (A-weighted). Not 4X less than Neumann?
Dynamic range expressed in decibels is not linear and is not this minus that, it's more every 3db is double. Yes, this is better than your apogee
