I spoke with the guy that runs the shop in Cartersville at Shot Show back in January and he said that each of the 1911'a are hand fitted and tuned. He says they put a lot of love and passion into each one they crank out and it shows.

Thanks for pointing out Argentina's history with Colt and the 1911, Sootch! I lived in Rosario, Argentina for a time back in the early 1980s. After WWI, Argentina purchased 1911 tooling directly from Colt and opened a factory in Rosario. They hired Colt engineers to set up the tooling and began producing Sistema Colt 1911s under license from Colt. Colt actually allowed Argentina to put the name COLT on the pistol. I have a Sistema Colt made for the Argentine navy, and it is high quality. I'm glad to hear that Bersa is continuing the legacy with what appears to be a quality 1911! Keep up the good work, Sootch!

I have 1933 government model 1911 federal policia Hartford Colt. Cool ass pistol. Sweet shooting. Was re-blued and internals polished before I got it working at a shop. Stories it could tell. Never saw sistemas come through. I couldn't pass that one up.

True, outside of USA, only Norway and Argentina manufactured 1911 pistols with license from Colt. Norway made a WWI-pattern of 1911 with a slightly redesigned slide stop lever, and Argentina an A1 pattern of 1911, but some of the early batches were assembled with US-made parts, some even have a pre-A1 frame.

This is a true answer to the 1911 industry. Other companies act like front strap checkering requires the harnessing of the power of a star for a 1911 to have it and be under $1,000. Bersa knocked this one out of the solar system. 👍🫡🇺🇸

My first carry gun was a pawn shop Makarov... many moons ago. It was hard to find 9mm mak on a shelf back then. I switched to a Thunder .380, and eventually settled into the 9mm polymer guns. Bersa quality has gone way up over the past decade and it's even better now that they're made in the USA. This has sparked my interest. I've been looking for a 1911. Thanks for another great video, Don. We appreciate the work that you do on this channel.

I've been looking at getting the Garrison because of the name, quality, and enjoy the upgrades it comes with for a very decent price, usually around the $750 mark. But now with this model.... Yeah this one is roughly $100+ more, but if this is worth the upcharge, I wouldn't have a problem with that. Thoughts?

    Decent review until
You mentioned price 😮. Like you measured trigger pull lbs. however constructive suggestion put on a sled and shoot at 25 yards and is it MIM or tool
Steel? For the price, I think TISAS 1911A1 tool steel “US Army” 4 lbs pull, Reproduction is 1/4 of the cost. I have Colt officers, Springfield loaded and Mil-Spec and 2 TISAS. This Bersa is an easy pass at that price plus until someone does a “torture test” I’d be concerned it didn’t even lock back on a WC magazine. Since TISAS in Turkey is making on CNC machines yet country has 65% inflation, can’t beat a great 1911A1 that I’ve even shot at match competitions with great accuracy at 25 yards.

The firing pin won't break on one as easily as a series 80 and is quite safe if dropped. The series 80 has a hole milled through the firing pin so a plunger goes through it and that is where they break. Argentina may have a tradition with 1911 pistols, but Bersa was not remotely involved in producing them.......in fact Argentina adopted the 1911 a few years after the USA did.....Colt was originally the supplier and then struck a deal with the government to produce them in Argentina...... the military arms factory took over production....to imply that Bersa has any experience making 1911's just because Argentina used them for many years is misleading, and confusing.

Even upgrading everything on a Glock puts me around $800-900. I have never owned a 1911 just for this reason. Bersa makes low quality pistols. I would never buy anything from them again.

Omg, BERSA is making a 1911. Is it plastic? If Sootch loves it, it’s got to be junk. 😂. Let me guess, Wheaton Arms make a barrel! Argentina, the new China!😂

Very impressive looking gun look like it performed well too thanks for another great video. I wonder what the budget price is. I wouldn’t mind having one of those in my collection.😅
