- Some NEW information about the upcoming Dragon Quest Monsters 3 - The Dark Prince dropped this morning, so I'm here to tell you all about it, as well as give you some incite on what this all could possibly mean as a long time fan of the series!

@@hugobesson4318 they didn’t change them much. Just made slight improvements here and there. So far out of everything announced, the only thing I would’ve liked them to keep the same as the DQM1 & 2 remakes is having more than 2 monster sizes.
@@dukey03 like DQMJ3 4 sizes was fun but pretty unbalanced.

7:29 You actually were able to synthesize your monsters with other scouters in Monsters Joker 1! When you entered the back of the scout center there was a small chance of different scouters appearing that would be willing to synthesize his monsters with yours. I think thats actually the only game where this feature appeared so it's pretty common to skip it over

Also on the main island there was a monster mating building. you couldnt synthesise any monster but they asked for some specific ones like Rank B Demon. that was a fun feature i used a lot.
It was in DWM at least as well, after you completed certain story events or dungeons some NPCs would be willing to breed with you, and if I remember correctly there were occasionally wandering monster masters who would offer to breed with your monsters as well though I am not 100% certain on that.
It was in DWM2 as well.

I just preordered the deluxe edition of the game on the eshop can’t wait for the game in December, also the boss monsters were ??? Or in the remake a 👑 or SS rank in the games, X is replacing those ranks

In the first games npcs would want to combine monsters with you at certain points in the story.

@@dukey03 yep! Iirc there’s a guy you can easily get gold golem with. He’s offering lava man so if you got the blue one you just smack him upside the head with it. All of the options are based on when you’ve done the tournaments so you have to do them before the next tournament or you lose that chance.
@@kazeindelsawakno520some are progression sensitive, but not all. There's an NPC in the last area of your farm that you unlock via upgrading the farm who wants to breed an "armored" something-or-other iirc. He'll stay there until you breed a monster with his. But you're spot-on about the powerful monsters part, you can get some really strong monsters from most, if not all, of the breeder NPCs.
Edit: oh, nvm you were referring to the first game. Idk if every breeding request was locked behind arena progression in the first game like you said, but only some were in the DWM2 games.

This was a feature in DWM2. There were certain NPCs scattered around the world (some were progression-sensitive) that would breed their monsters with yours. I'm pretty sure it was a tutorial of sorts on link breeding (breeding with other players). There was one NPC at the arena pretty early on, another in the last area you unlock through upgrading your farm, and a few others. You could get some insanely good monsters this way, by breeding the correct monster with theirs.
And, yes, breeding with other players via link cable was a feature, tho I never got to use it since I didn't have any friends who owned DWM 1 or 2, or even knew what Dragon Warrior/Quest was.

I’m pretty excited for this IV prequel as my first Monsters game. We’ve already seen the Bamboo Shogun as one of the enemies you can battle in XI S’ 2-D worlds in Tickington. One thing I want to see in The Dark Prince is the chance to battle the big baddies from other DQ games like Zoma and Mordegon as secret bosses. Would be swell if IV arrives to switch someday, but I would rally like to see Monsters I Retro get localized, like how they did I-III around the time for XI S. It would be very cool if next year this game gets its own event in Dragon Quest Tact, which I’m covering on my channel.
So most of the times in DQM games you’ll run into Monster Scouts who will be using The Dragonlord and Estark n guys like that. So you’ll definitely be battling against AND alongside some bosses if you get them yourself
A prequel to DQ4, technically a sequel to DWM2, making it "DWM3"...

Also, damn, I'm excited for you! I was fortunate enough to have a friend in elementary school who owned DWM2: Tara's Adventure, and really wanted my Pokémon Blue Version. Best trade I ever made! Til I got scammed out of it by our other friend, not realizing how rare a game it actually was 😅
I remember from the first 2 DQWM games on the GBC, you could definitely breed with a friend's monster with a link cable. I hope that feature returns. Regardless, at least dueling friends will be fun. I was playing DQWM 2 on a game boy emulator for a while, but you can't really connect with others like that.
I think if you use the VGBA M emulator you might be able to link up with people. Also, thanks for the info, I couldn’t remember you could even do that! We were doing so much cool shit with the link cable back then!

Thank you for the update! I’m currently playing DQMJ2 on my phone and I’m loving it. Some how I couldn’t get into the first one but I’m loving the second one. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos! Always a breath of fresh air when I find a DQ channel on RUclips that actually commentates, keep up the good job

Have you ever played the 2nd one? It’s even better than the first! Heck, if you’ve got a hacked 3DS I highly recommend checking out the remakes of DQM1 and 2! They’ve been fan translated, I talk about them in my Top 10 Dragon Quest Spinoffs video if you want to see what they’re like

Been waiting for a new Monsters game. I honestly thought Treasures was going to be the new Monsters game. Psaro as a monster master is an awesome idea. I cant wait for this game. I hope people catch on to this series to give Pokemon a run for its money.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned yet. But what they mean by more intuitive fusion. When you want to make a monster. If you find otjer monsters that look similar, they probably lead to it. Like ddrag racer plus dragothorn fusion makes the dragon with the tree on his back.
Actually, there are now four sizes since the 3DS.
Hope this game has all four.
But we're only seeing size 1 & 2 so far.

Hope to god they show giant monsters in a possible trailer.
Since Estark and Pruslas are confirmed to be in the game.
It'll definitely be disappointing if they're only gonna be just 2 sizes.
@@Nando75549 sounds like they’re just going with 2 sizes now. I would’ve preferred at least 3 sizes (having just one big guy wasn’t as fun as having at least 2 dudes out front

So every monster has natural skill, and at least 2 other skills they can pass on, or level up.
So en even small monsters can have 3 skills at once.
So a newly breed monster will get to have 3 skills, VS a wild monster of the same kind.
I've never been able to fully get into the DQM series tbh. I prefer SMT/Persona and even Pokemon over it. But I'll still buy this game to support DQ in the west. and also, it seems to be the most polished game in the series. If the synthesis system really is new and improved and I can have more insight over what I'll be getting (as in actually seeing what potential skill can do), I'll probably enjoy it.
Yeah, so the 3DS remakes of DQM1 and 2 were so much better than the Joker games and even the originals. This will likely take all the great changes from those games and make an even better experience

Really hope they dont pad out the roster with tons of recolors like Joker 3/Pro did. DQM 2 SP had tons of unique monsters though so I'm hopeful.

Attacks in dire need happened in DWM2 for the Gameboy color. There were times I was having a hard time in a tournament and maybe had a turn or two left to last and couple of my monsters would combine an attack I've never heard of and do massive damage winning the battle. Blew my.mind cause I had the guide and was not covered in there.
I've played dragon warrior monsters on game boy. Awesome game. I wonder if the monsters will retain a personality (gullible, vain, reckless, ...) same as they did in the first game. Hope they haven't dumbed it down to appeal to a wider audience for ease of play.

@@GamingTranceSeer yes seems like, such a pity. Never really enjoyed when monsters behaved all alike, robot style. In the first game you'd happen to have monsters behaving like leaders and others like cowards which really made it more entertaining when in autopilot
That was the very first game that got me into the series! I remember being around 10 years old and bought the game for THIRTEEN DOLLARS omg, what a time to be alive.
Are we able to synthesize them in the demo?
From what I’ve heard; only a select few monsters are available to synthesize and scout in the demo
I really do hope to see Estark in this chapter as well, I am a Dragon Quest Monster Joker enjoyer and damn I loved the first 2 chapters back in my childhood and Estark always was my favourite monsters alongside some other ones like the Sagittar. I'm really super hyped for this game!
So I don’t want to say much, but I’ll be making a video on some new story reveals in DQM3; and Estark is definitely in here. I’m going to wait until TGS is over in case there’s some more info dropped

@@loris202 I highly recommend you play Dragon Quest 4 if you haven’t yet. It’s the first game Estark shows up in and DQM3 seems like it’s going to be a prequel/in-betweenquel of DQ4. The main character of DQM3 is the main villain from DQ4
@@dukey03 really? I would never have thought! The main protagonist of DQMJ 3 always looked like an hero to me, also the best designed of the joker protagonists. I never had the chance to play It, I waited for an europea version for lots of years, but nothing, I will never be able to play It on my old 3Ds.
Then yes, I'll follow your suggestion, from what I know Psaro Is a great character with a dramatic story, perhaps we're going to live It in first person? I don't really know, but I would love to unfold this part of the lore for sure.
Now I got a question: are the protagonists and stories of DQMJ 1/2 bounded in the main lore or are them stand-alone? I still remember the end of the trailer of the third game where the protagonists shows up, man, the hype I had...but I'm really happy to see that we're able to play in Psaro's backstory! Can't wait to synthesise like a fool once again.
Also about the "X" rank, I remember that max lvl the strongest Monsters, like Estark, Nimzo, Orgodemir and the others, the lvl Number could be replaced by the X, maybe they merged the idea and Estark & co will be in this new tier.
I really can't wait to see more of this chapter!
@@loris202 I was referring to DQM3 not Joker 3. But the main character from the original DQM was also one of the main characters from DQ6.
It does seem like we’re going to possibly see the events of DQ4 but from Psaro’s perspective
Any thoughts as to why the company would be pushing out DLC with the release for nearly $26? As you don't need to get the deluxe edition to get access to this DLC, I'm unsure why they made this decision to not wait to a later time in an attempt to look like added game play. I'm hoping this isn't just a quick cash grab as they're concerned about the game play and want to sell before reviews come out. Otherwise, I'm excited and look forward to a demo - any thoughts?
I have no doubt that this will be an incredible game (I played 2 of the most recent DQM games and they were the best of the bunch). But I’m not sure why they’re charging extra for DLC when normally DQ games have FREE DLC. My only guess is “modern SquareEnix gunna modern SquareEnix” unfortunately.
@@dukey03 My love for the original monsters game was the randomly generated maps - it seems this may only be accessible with the dungeon gym DLC. I don't have an issue with buying an end game for $10 once I confirm that the game play is fun and beat the game - I'm actually excited to see it's return.
I caution people to perhaps not buy the treasure trunks DLC as after 10 hours you'll have all the items it offers and this seems like the biggest cash grab similar to a phone game.
I'm unsure where the mole hole DLC fits in, but seems like an abridged way to get more of the same monsters that joined your team previously without having to adventure the game again. With this said, just remember you can pick and choose DLC and purchase these separately when you're ready to try the end game or want easy access to monsters.

Dragon Quest has been doing monster taming YEARS before Pokemon was even an idea. In fact it was Dragon Quest 5 that inspired GameFreak to create the Pokemon series
