I love the fact that they put everything into what they do. I’m mean, look at that vibrato, damn. Let’s give a round of applause to these people. They are awesome.
I just hate how they've started to rely on electric cellos over the years. This video was before that and you can tell by the audio that it's clearly acoustic. But if you close your eyes and listen to some of their other music videos you notice an obvious difference in how choppy they are. They don't have the vibrato because the instrument itself does not have the same body for it to resonate. They use acoustics for the videos but it's not the same sound... I still like some of their older and more mellow work, but for the most part I've moved on to artists like Simply Three, and even Apocalyptica. Some of their harder covers are just as smooth because they don't over rely on electrics.
The one problem I have with covers of rock songs on classical instruments is that usually the pace has to be dialled down because of the limitations of the instrument. 2Cellos SOMEHOW keeps the pace and the sound of the songs AND does it on an instrument that isn't made to play fast. Kudos, boys. Kudos.
