I love these guys because they're not afraid of the instrument. They beat the shit out of it and make it sing like it's merely an extension of them. Powerful

instruments should be treated with respect and care and in return they perform how they meant to and you play them, "beating the shit out of it" will only result in unnecessary repairments or if you "beat the shit out of it" too much you may have to replace it.

@@Lachlanii theres just beating the shit out it, then there's being "violently passionate" lol. I think a great part of their charm is seeing how much energy they pump into it and why so many of us are drawn to it. Respect is a matter of perspective as well.

Their renditions of various artists music,... accompanied only by 2 cellos (and very little other instrumental assistance in a few songs), played music in a way no one ever DREAMED of.... It was inconceivable 🤗 !

Cellos ( the instrument) gained new respect from stuffy and boring to awesome and a new sound never heard before; deserving of the talent & respect these guys brought to the stage.
This is a totally original, 2 thumbs up rendition...nothing so original like this has been heard since Peter Frampton in the 70's and his harmonica.

+Marcus Leong Actually, they just need to replace the horsehair on the bows. The bows themselves would be way too expensive and hard to rebuild to ever want to replace them every time the hair fell off.
Actually, I heard Horsehair bows are illegal now, and bow strings are now made from polymer, or that's what's going on where I am.
The day Mr Plant and Mr Page grace a studio with 2cellos, is the day music has evolved into a higher level.

I went to a German restaurant where there were two accordion players going from table to table. My friend (a drummer) yelled "Free Bird" they said they can't play that but, then gave us a hilarious rendition of Dueling Banjos...on their accordions. They got a standing ovation from the very packed restaurant. 👍

Beethoven is genius ... Led Zeppelin is genius ... but taking 2 already existing compositions and putting them together in a pre-recorded (not live) staged video is simply "cool" ---- but definitely not "genius".

Don't get me wrong, I LIKE the video, it's a very good performance, and good video editing job! (i.e. - the video certainly does not "suck" in any way shape or form). I'm a fan of both Beethoven's original music and Led Zeppelin's original music. But I don't think doing a staged cover version of 2 songs by other artists is considered "genius".

The cellos have strings like electric guitars for amplification. Bows have acoustic strings because they must. The cellos chew them up.

You can drive a supercar to the grocery store, or you can absolutely HAMMER that thing, pushing it to the limits and hear it sing in a mixture of agony and joy. These guys treat their cellos like a supercar on the most challenging track in the world. Whoever is the luthier that cares for their instruments, that person is a MASTER, they push those things beyond the limits, and squeeze every note they produce for the maximum effect.
Oh, yeah! I for one cannot thank them enough. We would never experience things like this.💯

First time I hear this amazing version of Whole Lotta Love. I like the fact that 2Cellos show respect to the song and played the middle part with the sound and vocal effects. Usually when we hear this song on the radio they skip this part, because for some reason the radio producers know better from the creators of the song.

These 2 guys are my favorite to listen to on the cello and no instrument matches up to them, there body language and everything, it’s like they’re playing as rockstars with the cello on everything they play and they bring a whole new meaning to emotion during the play, THEY ROCK!!!!

Should we start a timeline? I assume it goes from the beginning of "Wake Me Up," to "Trooper Overture," where they get the idea to do rock songs, to "Highway to Hell" where they actually do it with guitar accompaniment, to "Thunderstruck," where they do it on stage, possibly into the middle of "Wake Me Up," then this, then they break up after the fight in "Smooth Criminal," then they make up in the war in "They Don't Care About Us," and then keep playing in the nursing home at the end of "Wake Me Up?"

As a guy who loves both classic music and rock music 2Cellos is a perfect balance, considering that my favorite instrument is the Cello.
