I think cubing like any other thing had different levels when you are dedicated to it from a young age , with coaches and all compared when you started for fun and continued , but this situation I would say takes the fun out of it
It could be possible that cubing is somewhat like language learning, that it's much easier to learn faster when you're young, but then again children do have a lot more spare time to practice in so it would be difficult to measure
It's absolutely insane! I guess those 6 year olds are proof that cubing has nothing to do with being good at math cause I doubt they are math whiz at that age. But then again who knows, anything is possible with these kids.
That particular competition was held in Singapore (Singapore is not China btw). I pity Singaporean children who were just starting and attended their first competition locally. Organiser seriously must look into this! This will seriously kill their spirit and moral!!!
it’s kinda sad tbh I don’t think kids so young should be devoting so many hours to giant algsets. this is such a niche hobby already. I hope she doesn’t grow up and look back disappointed at her childhood
Idk, this seems like a weird take, this has been happening for decades in chess. As long as she's enjoying cubing, theres nothing really wrong with this
hahaha my friend was solving beside her and got absolutely destroyed even tho hes 16 and averages 7💀💀💀 (imo their basically npcs/bots they dont react to their times and never make mistakes)
Istg, if she improves her F2L (mostly pseudo-slotting and X/XX-crosses) she will basically be a 6-year-old Tymon. Absolutely insane. (Also, competitions are back to China)
her name Qixian is easy to pronounce for a Westerner. It's just ChiShen, super easy. But you will not be able to pronounce her last name Cao. The C is almost impossible for Westerners to pronounce without days of practice, which is funny because English has that sound, but it's only ever at the end of a word. It's the same sound as in wants or fence. Maybe you can try with the word "fencing" to isolate the C and put a "ow" sound after instead.
Look I understand that this cyber is also going on fire with her fast solving but don’t worry speedcubing isn’t over yet there are still legends like tymon , max park and felix out there and I understand that they may not have been as fast when they were 6 but still age doesn’t matter in either way because it is just a number.
@@kyh148 it may look like that but didn't you see the world championship match with Felix tymon and Leo and all Felix was actually doing better than he has ever done and infact Felix himself defeated every Chinese competitor he faced except for yiheng(the world record holder) but still even against yiheng Felix did really good I know what I say can be controversial but not everyone can remain at a energetic level for very long in cubing but in the case of Felix is slightly different because despite facing the younger and newer generations he has still be getting 4s and 5s and he was the one has had been cubing. dude I was cubing before this kid was even born and she gets fwr at her first comp.
Same
she really gets a sub 6 average then goes and learns what 3 x 4 is
That's funny, tho I have to point out that I read it as 3 by 4 puzzle like the Rubik's Cube xD

wtf how is this kid better than yiheng wang, seriously. i mean shes 6 and shes the best female cuber in the WORLD
her 1st comp too

It could be possible that cubing is somewhat like language learning, that it's much easier to learn faster when you're young, but then again children do have a lot more spare time to practice in so it would be difficult to measure
That’s exactly what I think, learning things gets much harder as you age, so I imagine learning 800+ algs is much easier and will be very retainable.
I always describe learning cubing like learning a language
1:38 Mom, i'm famous

I don’t think the kids care that much. I’m gonna look into my own morale tho cause this one definitely took a toll
What bugged me the most was how much reaction she DIDN'T have, it's like she didn't know how good she actually is
