It's crazy to see the engineering in a $1 or 1.2M car. It was seen as preposterous at the time a car could cost at or over $1M. Now car makers take an existing super car, expose some carbon, put center lock wheels on it, alcantara everywhere, call it limited edition and charge over $1M and it's the norm. Bugatti/VW really put it all on the line at the time with this thing, and it shows. This was not a money grab it was a a crowning achievement.
Didn't each Veyron actually cost more like $5m to build, and they just sold them at a huge loss as some sort of halo model...so we're actually looking at the engineering in a $5m car, which is maybe why it blows 'regular' $1m cars out of the water..
I once walked into a guys' office in Germany. He was an old, just retired engineer. His coffee table was made out of a Veyron engine with a gaping hole in it. He proudly called it the fastest coffee table in the world 😂 Apparently it blew on the test bench. He later told me that he worked on engine-gearbox tuning. Initially they downtuned them to 7-800 hp on the bench as the gearboxes were problematic. Later these were solved and a meeting was called. Main question? How much horsepower can we get reliably. He put on the table we can get 1000 hp. The manager there didn't like that number. 1001 like in the fairytales of 1001 nights just sounds better. And so that number came to be :-) op
It's amazing to watch you and the team painstakingly go through every little detail of this car and make it brand new again. So glad to seeing you use "right to repair" laws in your favor!
I really like this serie! You did a great job going with the documentary style. More footage of the actual rebuild would even be better but well, tremendous respect!
We simply didn’t have many cool videos back in the day so whenever you went on RUclips, we had to search for the Bugatti that crashed into the bay. This is pure nostalgia and thank you for bringing us along.
Houston Crosta Awesome Video I'm glad your Flooded Veyron rebuild is coming along well and I think doing a great job and I think it's awesome to see just how well Buggati did with all of the engineering
This build is badass, and I have greatly enjoyed the entire video series. Thank you for taking the time to share this with all of us. It’s a lot of effort to create this much content, I hope you get a good return, and do more in the future!
I'm so glad to see Houston crosta rebuilding this. I've been watching him before he had this veyron. I saw the veyron flood video before Houston was even big. It's so inspiring to see him reassembling the whole damn thing. I wanna run a car dealer one day and vids like these give me reason to keep going. Thanks Houston!
At 9:35 you can see a radiator fan control module…. I have the EXACT SAME one on my 1999 vw beetle. You don’t know how shocked I am to see that crappy part
Indeed. He should have googled the part numbers tbh ....... This is basically a very expensive car from the VAG group. He could have saved himself some money! :)
Purple, yellow black, white, green its just a colour. You saved a Bugatti from rotting away. You did not cut it up into 4x4 cm pieces and sold for 5 dollar like any youtuber would. Respect.
I don’t understand how you’re not getting at least 1 million views per episode. This is such a notorious car. Maybe cause you waited so long to air the content, but still enjoying the videos.
Because the videos are boring AF. Who wants to watch this guy interview himself in a dark room complaining about cost instead of seeing progress on the car?
really liking this series!!! well done!!! cant wait for part 6!!! saw a short that you were driving this beast!! hehe come!!! get the editing done!!! :):)
I know he’s filmed some of these videos over a year ago, but he really needs to watch a few Mat Armstrong videos to see the flow of a proper RUclips automotive. This is so disjointed with way too much talking. Both proper geezers but MA is killing it.
Yeah it’s crazy he gets dam near a million views ina few hours after the video comes out,his last one with the Porsche hit a mill in 16-17 hours that’s nuts great videos
I personally prefer Houstons build as a subscriber of both channels. No shade to Matt but he put a ton of rusty components and crap back into the Murci or rattle can'd things... Kind of disappointing. Houston is actually putting in the effort to put this car back up there amongst its peers
@@GaIvatr0n rebuilding a flood car is different than rebuilding a crashed car. No point for MA to replace non damaged parts just because they show wear, you have to replace corroded parts on a flood car unless you want to trade the car apart later and redo work you skipped once issues arise.
No I totally understand but If you're going to restore a rare Murci which is closing in on that £1M mark, why cut corners? Do it properly and make it a real showstopper.. not just a pig with lipstick, hence it breaking down a number of times.@@realmach5
Respect your hard work and dedication for this rebuild. Its just a shame you've gone for some cheap-ass purple any kid could get wrapped on his little Honda Civic.
Royalty has so many Frankenstein cars I can see why some brands (Ferrari) have an issue with what you do. But it’s still very interesting to see these cars come apart
Houstons a proper supercar owner, literally will pull anything apart and have a go, prob knows more and been hands on than most Bugatti techs! Top work keep it up 💪🏼
@Busta-mb8kw thats sounds real cute lol. Dude aint no millionaire/billionaire tearing apart no Bugatti outside of maybe Jay Leno. An even he doesnt do all the work on his own
you should look into the dry ice cleaning would help you out and you could start offering that at your place i think people will come in and use it great video looking awesome
Why don’t you zinc coat all the hardware? That way you don’t have to buy new hardware just drop it all off. Then it won’t rust again and they will look way nicer. It’s probably cheaper to zinc all the hardware then buy all new hardcore as well.
Just goes to show you how good Matt Armstrong’s videos are when you watch this. We get it, it’s hard and expensive! That’s why people are watching. You don’t have to go on and on about it.
Did you know that these videos are free? Your litterally complaining about a free video of someone rebuilding a Bugatti. Watch it on 1.5 speed.... fast forward... or don't watch it at all. If this puts your panties in a bunch..... what are you going to do if this country falls on hard times?
@@rjthomasindyusa If you are talking about America then you are already in trouble 😂. Yep he’s in position to rebuild a Bugatti so stop whining about how hard it is and get on with the rebuild.
I've really enjoyed seeing the engineering and work you guys are doing on this car. With the cleaning though, I feel like it would be worthwile renting or buying a laser metal cleaner, or dry ice blasting everything to clean it instead of the wire wheel. It would be much more time and cost effective with a nicer look at the end.
Really respect the fact that you could easily just let the team handle it but you are invested beyond the financial parts and want to get your hands dirty and know what it happening. Screw the haters 😊
No need to buy standard bolts from VW or Bugatti. Just get the type and size, then order from a reputable source in batches. Much easier and dirt cheap! I'm curious, what's the NGK spark plug number? Did you check google?

This is the best part by far. Doing the job. No dark room sad interviews, just doing it. Amazing.
Looking forward to the next part! Wish they were longer videos. Really enjoying Houston’s insights into the car, factory, parts ordering process etc.
Wild undertaking. Doing a great job the color is crazy 🔥

Surprised you didn’t have the engine dry ice blasted to clean it up instead of using a dremel.
Steady my fav build on RUclips right now. Houstons OCD levels to make it look nice and clean is speaking to my inner soul!
Did you consider dry ice when cleaning the engine?
I have the same exhaust temperature sensor on my 1.8t Audi TT Mk1 they are not exclusive to the Veyron at all
Looks to be coming out nice. Cant wait to see it finished.
part 5 is DOWN!!!!! HOUSTON , the work and attention to detail is just AMAZING , WHAT A W!!!!!!!!!!
Great start for the new week by watching the rebuild. Always learning a lot from these. Thank you Royalty Team !
Love to see these honestly. Not the average RUclipsr bugging random people. Kudos!
Can't imagine how much hair pulling this project takes. Mad respect.
the exhaust temp sensors are from an AUDI TT 8N 1.8 225hp quattro
Really nice that VW have Bugatti parts available and will sell you whatever. You'd expect they'd hold onto them for high end customers
When your pockets can keep up with your passion, we get content like this. Great vid!
Honestly... this is legendary stuff. No joke.
Great build Houston
Maybe take all the bolts you have bag and label them then send them out to be zinc coated or whatever coating the factory used.
Hell he could get them powdercoated the same purple as the body
Cross reference all the parts! 99% of them are VAG parts. Save the money where you can.
Awesome. Thanks for this series

Bye 👋👋👋👋👋👋 🤮
@Houston are you missing a center console piece? One showed up on DB marketplace a while back I’m SW houston.
Those gas temp sensors are from a mk1 audi tt with a bam code.
Hence the markings.
The crew at Bugati are so good it only takes 4 of them 2 hours to pull the engine and they hit you for 12-24
the sheer engineering of packaging the technologies, it's still the apex motor car.
Hats off to you, Houston for taking on such a massive project. Keep up the good work from one RUclipsr to another.!!👍👍🔥🔥👌👌

I admire how hands on Houston is, unlike a lot of other RUclipsrs with big bank accounts
Why not clean with dry ice, seems to be a good solution to remove surface rust, corrosion ect?
As a machinist I could have remade anything metal/aluminum/tungsten all the bolts pulleys etc way cheaper and equal or better quality
Great job so far! Keep them coming.
These videos are too short man. We want more!
Keep up the good work Huston.
