    What aspects of the Metroid lore would you like me to cover in future videos??

      A Metroid Prime 2 story video like you did for the first game. Learned a ton from that one

      @@fortnitejake850 I agree. I would say continue that trend chronologically, prime 2,3, metroid 2,3 etc.

    Enjoyable lore synopsis. I think Dread opens up the lore for a deeper allegorical analysis which I plan to make a video on ™ whenever I'm not lazy. The X seem to represent the archetypal chaos of nature which keeps order and subjugation in check. Metroid on the other hand, are an icon of the rational Chozo. The thoha made the Metroid, and thoha is derived from the name of an Egyptian god of wisdom. As a race, before the split, they just are sentient life as an archetype, which is constantly at war with chaotic nature. At the end you have ravenX and Metroid Samus, which I think are both taken to their greatest extremes. Raven beak, part of the chozos who have turned to chaos and violence is now consumed by absolute chaos. Samus, on the other hand, is completely consumed by the icon of rationalism. This seems to me to be sortof like rationalistic insanity. Ideologues so wrapped up in their way of understanding the world that they have no more contact with the world (which is chaotic) and must fit everything into their system of thinking which is rigid and circular at its core. Think of say, a madman that thinks he is a part of the matrix, and there is no reality. There's no way to disprove him, and every bit of evidence can be neatly placed within his worldview, but nevertheless it is insanity. In any case, the lesson from dread, as I take it, is that being overly logical and rigidly rationalistic can be consuming, and it's actually keeping ourselves grounded and in touch with reality, as hectic as it may be, that keeps us sane. Sortof like how being terminally online we universally recognize as bad, and that the solution is simply to touch grass.

      I don't think that was intentional, but your interpretation is pretty funny

    • @higgz8547
      @higgz8547 Год назад

      @@dis_inferno9173 I think it was intentional. For one, dualism like this runs at the core of eastern cultures. For two, it explains how reven beak reacts to being infected by the X far differently than quiet robe. Quiet robe of the thoha tribe, the tribe based on the egyptian god of science and wisdom, vs raven beak of the tribe of chaos and war, who's tribe is based upon hector. It goes quite a bit deeper than you'd think.

    If the Space Pirates could steal some Metroids, it's not too farfetched to think Nintendo will come up with a way for the Space Pirates to steal some X Parasites as well. Given the effects of the Metroid DNA within Samus, this could easily allow Nintendo to come up with several future games in which Samus gets overtaken by her Metroid DNA and revert back to normal after absorbing an X Parasite.

      @zeltroid  Год назад +4

      Absolutely possible. The Metroid franchise has a really hard letting certain enemies go 😂
      The other thing is that in Metroid Dread, several Chozo looking ships appeared to have escaped planet ZDR. Based on the fact that the planet was overrun by X at that point, it’s a pretty good assumption that they were the ones flying the ships while mimicking something else. I plan on talking about this soon in another video

      I do have to admit that the x-parasited are one of the most boring antagonists I have every seen in a video game franchise. Now I love the metroid series to death but, if you ask me they should just move on from x-parasites and focus more on other things like other Chozo tribes or whatever.

    As Samus is technically the last metroid, I wouldn't be surprised if, like Ravenbeak, others try to steal her DNA.

    There is no game I want more than a Zelda metroidvania. Call it a Zeltroid if you will. They wouldn't even have to come up with a single ability gating item since there are so many to choose from the previous games.
    It time to take back 2D Zelda

    • @Aycheffe
      @Aycheffe Год назад

      All the old Zelda games are metroidvanias. Botw ruined everything

    • @johanandersson8646
      @johanandersson8646 Год назад

      @nakula kaufman Yeah there are elements of a metroidvania in them but the agility gating is often more based to the specific dungeon where you've got that item. And the are mostly quite linear. A Link Between Worlds feels .ost like a metroidvania to me.
      Botw is great in its own way imo.

    • @Aycheffe
      @Aycheffe Год назад

      @@johanandersson8646 the old Zelda's always have a big overworld with many gated elements like caves covered by rocks until you get bombs or chasms you can't cross until hookshot or streams you can't pass until flippers or gaps you can't jump until feather or trees that shake down items once you crash into them with charge boots. Sometimes just for heart containers, sometimes for trade quest items, and often for progressing in the overworld. Dungeons would then take your latest item and stretch it to it's limit. The metroidvania elements are pretty thick in Zelda if you ask me. Until Sandbox of the Wild completely changed what made Zelda Zelda. It seems like a great sandbox game but I don't like sandbox games.. I like Zelda games 🤷

    • @johanandersson8646
      @johanandersson8646 Год назад

      @nakula kaufman Fair enough! I can't really argue to much against you although I remember someone explaining why Zelda isn't a metroidvania(but I can't remember what they said 😅)
      Perhaps I should've said I want a more "classic" 2D sideview Zelda with a mazelike world(leveldesign). Top down or 3D is considered how a Zelda game should be today. But the second one which many consider the worst Zelda wasn't. Its time to take back 2D sidescroller Zelda and make it great. imo..
