Thank you very much for saying so! I put a lot of effort into them, as I do each drawing myself. It means a lot to hear someone say they like them!

Noice! You are reviewing my personal favorite second game in the Metroid Series. The first one is Fusion.

Nice! I began with the Prime series. It took me a while to finally give the 2D games a try since I like having physical copies and the GBA games are so dang expensive now

@@tomeofsilver tell me about it. I found the loose copies of Fusion and Zero Mission both for 15 bucks at Retropalooza.

For me Zero Mission was the 2nd Metroid game that I got myself into, because a friend had it in middle school and I borrowed it and then beat it, but since Metroid Fusion had been my first experience with the series, I basically beat Zero Mission with no challenge whatsoever, as I had already gotten used to the difficulty and BS from Fusion, but I still enjoyed Zero Mission and until the fan game AM2R had come out, I considered Zero Mission to be the best 2D Metroid at least until Metroid Dread came out.
I kind of wish that Nintendo had made like a Super Mario All Stars kind of thing with Metroid though, because in middle school after experiencing Fusion AKA Metroid 4 and Zero Mission AKA Metroid 1 Remake, I wanted to play Metroid II and Super Metroid AKA Metroids 2 and 3, but because those games had been so old at that point in time of the releases of Fusion and Zero Mission, the only option to play those games had been through emulation, since SNES and GB games were no longer being sold in stores, and the Wii with its Virtual Console wouldn't have been available until a couple of more years, and then when I finally played Metroids 2 and 3 I was sort of disappointed, because they felt slower and clunkier, and even to this day I can't just go back to those games because of such, which is why for Metroid 2 I stick to AM2R as I don't really like Mercury Steam's Return of Samus on the 3DS, since they just changed too much and they hadn't mastered the movements like they had done by the time they made Dread.
If Nintendo ever makes a 2D Metroid game collection, I'd accept it if the games play like in Dread's engine, but I wish that they had done the collection for the GBA or the Nintendo DS, because I would have loved to play Metroids 1-4 on the go and preferably with the Zero Mission engine, but back then Nintendo wasn't giving Metroid any love so it would have been an impossibility, and Nintendo isn't cool like Retro Studios, where even though they had made Metroid Prime 1 and 2 for the Gamecube, and the Wii had backwards compatibility with the Gamecube which meant people could play those games on the Wii too, because the controls had changed for Metroid Prime 3 it was decided by Retro Studios to basically remake Prime 1 and 2, so that it would have the same control schemes as in Metroid Prime 3, and that is why I think the Metroid Prime Trilogy collection is one of the best Remakes/Re-releases ever, since every time they have released it they have made major improvements, and they have also kept them cheap since when they released the collection recently for the Switch they only wanted $40 for it, while Nintendo always charges $60+ for all their re-releases and stuff, while also blocking stuff behind Amiibos and a bunch of other BS.

A 2D Metroid Collection would be such an easy slamdunk for Nintendo, but frustratingly they seem content just having them playable through their online service for the Switch.
I'm in complete agreement with you about the Prime Trilogy collection. An absolutely incredible package.

I DO have an original cartridge of it rattling in a drawer somewhere along with my original violet GBA handheld. I might even have the manual, I have to go check. Not the box though, as back when I first bought it it was the GAMES I wanted not the packaging and my bedroom did not have unlimited space and even handheld game boxes do take up space. If I HAD the box with all content it seemsit seems I could have gotten a pretty buck for it. I don't WANT to sell it though, "I" love Metroid too! 😀 Now I sort of want to play it again. I'll probably just emu... connect it to the TV somehow though, small screens does not play well with me any more not that I passed the 40 mark. 😉

I was the exact same way with my GBA games! I never thought about keeping any of the boxes, I just wanted to get to the game inside so the boxes would get torn open and thrown out.
If you have a Switch with Nintendo Online Expansion pack membership, you can play Zero Mission that way, too. Otherwise, yeah, an emulator would be your best bet for getting it on a bigger screen.

@@tomeofsilver I had the basic subscription for a bit but I cancelled it because I didn't use it often enough to warrant paying for it, cheap as the rates might be. 🤔💸😉 No, having the original makes it even legal to emulate it so I will. 😋 Exited for Prime 4 but looks like it is slated for Switch 2 now?

I think the trailer from the last Nintendo Direct said it was still coming to Switch (not 100% sure), but I wouldn't be surprised if there were both Switch and Switch 2 versions. Kinda like how Breath of the Wild was a launch title for Switch but still also came out on WiiU.

@@tomeofsilver Maybe? Although... I am not a graphics wh*re or anything and Nintendo was never the "lHD looks is everything" kind of game company but games that get released for both next gen and last gen most often get the looks of the weakest system, i.e. last gen. It will still look great I am sure, just the Prime 1 remaster is amazing and that was a GC game originally! 😀
Edit: BotW looks great too, don't get me wrong here! 😉
