Personally I find Paul Booth to be my favorite artist. Not necessarily because of the designs, but because of the experience that I would have if I got tattooed by him. Don't get me wrong, his art is incredible and I would love to have a piece of his on my arm (if I can afford or if my future career allows it), but just being tattooed by him would be so fun. I would love to hear the stories he has to tell and would get a tattoo from him just to visit the shop. Such an interesting artist.
Yeah, totally agree. I remember as a kid buying a tattoo mag with a big feature on him. I thought his work was too dark for me and not my kind of thing but still loved his work. Now I still love his work but would love to get tattooed by him as I love what he does. The stories too, would be great. He comes across as a great guy. Not sure what went on in the past, but he seems to have chilled out.
Jeff Gogue is a local here in Grants Pass Oregon where we live. And his mothers been a big part of the oil paint community as well here. Big props for a small town!!

Not like it wasnt around back then. Tattooing as an art has been around for centuries. Im a huge fan of leonardo though, and the idea of him tattooing would be SICK, but i dont think he considered it as an art. Or a respectable form of art. Who knows though, maybe he liked tattoos.

I want to get a tattoo to honor my son who battles Type 1 Diabetes. I want a piece of art. I see many that I love but I want my own individual piece. I don't want to just copy someone. Where do I start? There are so many amazing artist. This will be my first and only tattoo.
Depends on where you live.
This is the best advice if you don't have Instagram.
Go into a shop, look at portfolios, see which person does the best work that resembles something you want.
Let them know what you want, how big you want it, and don't haggle the prices. That isn't something you do. It's on you for the rest of your life and it's a one of a kind art piece made with a special skill. It's worth it. If there are no good tattoo artists near you, go to your nearest major city and there will be some. Look at portfolios and get someone who will do something quality.
Also, you will have to pay a deposit to get it drawn, don't ask to see it before you pay a deposit bc it won't happen. The deposit goes toward your tattoo so it isn't just wasted money. Don't try to put a million things into the tattoo, just give the artist an idea and let them do their work. This is what they do. Don't bring in something from the internet and get it copied onto you. That's not original, let the artist be original and come up with something on their own.
You might have an insulin pump tattooed... Mmmm... Why don't you check online for a basis and ask a tattooist to have it personalized according to your tastes and personal details? Colours, flowers, writings...? I bet there is plenty to see!
Joe F couldn't have said it any better. Precise, brilliant advice. I'll add, getting tattooed is so much more than the end result. It's an experience like no other. Many of is love it, one might not be enough. Choose an artist that you like as a person too, you'll be paying them a lot of money. When you see your tattoo, you'll remember the day that you had it done and you want happy memories.

Bobby Cupparo is a fucking master. I have no tattoos.... I've always wanted a lion of Judah,( Lion with a jeweled crown ). I never found the artist I wanted to do it though. I didn't just want a lion, preferably i wanted a lion of Judah with a galaxy background. I wanted to tell the artist that, and let them go crazy. The images at 0:17 are basically like the images I had in my head but 100x better. If I ever get that tattoo, he'll be the person to put it on me. He's probably got a ten year waiting lost and price tag that is costly. But I'll Wait, and If I can ever afford it I'll pay.
