yeah, it looks great in black. i know its not a witcher set, but i like the tesham mutna set a lot. very underrated but it even has the most useful set bonus with health regen, and it looks great.
@canadian0096 i like the viper chest original color, rest black. but even all grey isn’t bad. white griffin also looks nice. grandmaster cat is nice in white too.
I use the Griffin. In my new Game+ I have now reached Beauclaire and I still use the Grand Master Griffin since before I started new Game+ (don't have the level for the new one yet). I met a draconid that was at least 10 levels above me, I cast Yrden, Quen and then waited for the stamina to refill and casted the alternative mode for Igni and the beast was defeated, that was on death march. Sign build + Griffin set for life, the swords are just for set bonus and decoration.
I think this should have been titled ' least to most favourite witcher set'. There's no question Ursine is the strongest Witcher gear in the game, only closely followed by Griffin. Maybe you haven't looked enough at the possibilities to optimize your Ursine build?
Did my first game going for the Griffin set because of the mixture of attacks and signs. Then did ng+ with Griffin again. A year or so later, I did a ng+ with the Ursine build. It's exceptional. Trying to find the wolven gear set now and see if I can just play around with builds as I don't want to replay the whole game. Also looks cool to have gear sets in Geralt's house on the gear stands.
One way to make the rear attack bonus work on the feline is you burn the target/s with Igni. When they start performing the burn animation, circle around and then attack.
@@zachattackstheworld He even complains about the aard intensity which can stagger foes. Being a glasscannon this set is all about making an opening, get quick hits and evade, but he seemed to have missed that.
@@Bronzescorpion I had a feeling the AARD bonus was there for a practical reason, though I admit I was as confused as the uploader was about it. I'll definitely be putting points into AARD sweep as well on my current build.
@@TheOceanBearer Aard can be very nice when used right. Even in boss fights when the monster fly charge towards you, you can knock them out of the sky and come crash landing. Igni can do the same, but the range is different on the two and sweep is good for that full crowd control. Before you get the horn, aard is the bane of harpies.
Ursine Tank(Quen+Strong ATT)is the most OP build for every witcher contract and story end bosses. Just use the correct decoctions, multiple oil with protective coat skill that's it. Every monster or character will know there is a DEMIGOD standing in front of him/her for battle 🔥.
plus get the ability in the general skill tree where it says for every heavy set armor increases vitality by 5% and attack by 5% so you'll get a total increase of 20% for both attack and health
i usually did a combat/alch euphoria build with it and echanted the armor to light to get the light attack bonus. shredded everything with ease and never died
Yeah you can become nigh unkillable and deal a good chunk of damage in return. There's nothing your enemies can really do about you just Rending them to death.
I’m currently going a half combat half alchemy build, euphoria mutation obviously, and grandmaster feline armor and I honestly find it hard to believe there’s a stronger build in the game. With that said, manticore armor has to be my favorite looking, then bear and then probably the feline armor I don’t really mind the hood
Heres how you make your build better. Put on ursine chest. Enchant it with levity ( to make all armor light for cat school technuiqes) Put on nilfguardian guardsman gauntlets, the skellige set trousers and alder folk boots. Spec your points into crits, fast attacks, alchemy and whirl. Use aerondight and the strongest steel sword you can find( usually the toussiant knight steel sword) and voila, you have the strongest build in the game
My humble opinion: Wolf School - Best looking and the new bleed affects are fun. What I'm currently using for my next-gen NG+ playthrough. I just wish I didn't have to rush the main story to get to Kaer Morhen in time to get the basic gear before it's useless. Cat School - Probably the best with my play style. I love quick attacks and Aard, so can't go wrong here. Griffin School - I know people sometimes shit on how it looks, but it's honestly got better synergy functions than any other set. You can potentially make Yrden crazy if done correctly.
Ursine is the best one for me. Before the new gen nerfs you could have around 90/95 % dmg reduction with Protective coating perk(which made archgriffin hit you for like 5 10 hp). Now its around 75% still better than most gear and you can give it levity apply cat school perk and rend the sh*t out of monsters 2k a crit maybe even more. And then there is a quen set bonus that has amazing synergy with exploding shield perk and kills most of the enemies that manage to break your Quen.
I'm addicted to the euphoria build... Even nerfed it still eats death march alive. Thinking about building something around the forgotten Wolven to larp and try something different... lvl 40 on my 3rd play through.
Try a sign build with forgotten wolven. I’ve been using maxed out yrden and aard with piercing cold mutation and with all the forgotten wolven swords it is incredibly powerful
yeah, sword/alchemy with euphoria is my thing too… played like 6 ng/ng+ cycles, so i tried something new with fleet footed and frenzy. it makes fights so much fun, not 1 shoting everything but making fights very cinematic. whatever you do in this game you become op anyway. prefer the ng+ having all grandmaster sets and abilities to choose from, looking great for cutscenes.
@@OnStrike69 worth giving it a try. At least you can reset with a single potion if it doesn't work out... need to try mutated skin or metamorphosis at some point.
I like ursine best because it feels like a heavy juggernaut set almost, and despite the Stam regen decrease, you can still make a good quen build especially when paired with the protection enchantment
So far, GM Wolven set is my go to set. With Aerondight and mutated skin, things would go down rather easy. Bleeding for offense, alchemy and mutated skin for defense.
I personally feel it's the best because it can be turned into light armor with the 75% dam resistance. I use a Quinn build with the protection runes free quin when you enter combat and all other runes with 10% to Quinn and wolf grandmaster trousers because they have four rune slots and the two best level 100 swords you can get have 40% to Quinn as well
IMHO aard synergizes well with the light armor/fast attack style of cat. Cat school is basically unmatched single-target DPS focusing mainly on dodge, but it really struggles with mobs and heavily armored enemies I was having a lot of fun with a feline spellsword build- mainly focused on the usual combat abilities but fully w/ upgraded aard (lvl 3 shockwave is OP against high level enemies w/ a lot of armor and huge HP pools, flat 10% damage per hit. Works even on golems and elementa). Had to burn a few points for req but picking up melt armor for igni and lvl 3 delusion for axii work great with the build (both mechanics wise and thematically IMHO) Basically gives you great knockdown/crowd control for mobs without sacrificing a ton of attack power/crit potential. I think that's why they included the increase to aard power on the feline silver sword, it makes up for a lot of the set's shortcomings With the next gen update reducing the max cost from 5 to 3 it opens up a lot of fun hybrid build possibilities PS with replenishment runeword on swords your sword damage counts for the sign you charge it with. When your sword is charged with quen it makes it vampiric and the damage you do restores your vitality. When paired w/ the grandmaster ursine bonus you're looking at tripling your sword damage and also giving it lifesteal
In addition to what you said, which I agree with, aard also staggers, so his complaint about rear attacks is actually negated somewhat if he were to use aard and move around the way a light build should.
Manticore set is my all time favourite because of high critical damage with your swords and your bombs plus you can carry more potions and bombs to use in various situations and it does better then feline attack damage because of critical damage but only down side has no sign intensity
It sucks so many of the sets have 1 annoying aesthetic gripe for me. I hate that the ursine set has a skirt and I despise that you can’t take off the hood for the feline set, unless you wear a mask or glasses.
I used an Ursine chest piece and Manticore gloves, boots, pants. Also put a light armour enchantment on an Ursine chest piece. I haven't played the Witcher 3 after the update, but before the update, this combo made Deathmarch feel like a tutorial.
Wouldve been nice to be able to swap between the gears appearances. I liked some of the more simple level 1 looks more than the kitted out level 5 sets
I like wolven with condoctors of magic mutation, with all the attack damage and built into adrenaline the support sword damage and magic is ridiculous especially if your into dipping in slicing then splashing igni.
never cared much about set bonuses, and i have played like 6 ng/ng+ cycles, but viper chest piece with manticore everything else dyed black looks great and is very powerful against everything dealing elemental damage having like 85-90% damage reduction with more toxicity on top of that. fighting wraiths with this hybrid set is just a joke, they can’t do anything to you. what i like to do is having a few sets of gear on me and just switch it around depending on what i fight, same as abilities. for fighting humans the undvik set is unbeatable, having levity or deflection on it. or both, if you get 2 chest pieces.
@@David-nq8cv yeah, and the bonuses are not that useful anyway. Maybe just the griffin one, 3 pieces bonus is casting 2 signs quickly, that comes in handy whatever set of abilities you use. Ursine swords just can't be beaten, as witcher swords go.
Wicked video buddy 👍🏻 😁 Red Ursine is my favourite looking set and that basically all I used back on last gen. I'll work towards a Wolf set this time. 😁 👌🏻
I think you missed the point with some of sets. Ursine: The adrenaline point actually does make sense. Firstly there are skills that increase protection and survivability, which fit the heavy armor. Secondly strong attacks gets buffed with heavy and rend benefits from having adrenaline points. So all in all adrenaline fits perfectly with a heavy armor build. Feline: Aard staggers and are good as a crowd control. Your complaint about rear attacks is negated a bit if you just used tactics that could position you right. Multiple bombs staggers or immobilize foes and the same goes for signs, in fact aard, igni and axii all stops foes for a short while and even yrden can slow them or stagger them if you use the alternative mode.
got a mix of GM forgotten wolven pants and gloves and GM wolven chest and boots, but i also like the GM cat and Bear as well...these sets fits perfectly with gerald imo
Sorry, but I don't know how to set the cat before the bear and the forgotten wolf. The quen damage can be optimized as much as possible, and the bear's set goes into high durability, it's perfect for creating an invincible Geralt. Forgotten wolf armor is specific, but does a nice amount of damage if you know what potions to use and how to properly assemble this build. Unfortunately, the cat is pure damage with no resistance, building a glasscunon type build, and the set skill is self-excluding since we build it for fast attacks.
hmmm i like Feline more than other sets. It is the highest dmg set in a few seconds. And fun, if you really want to play good at swords, you should remember all Bestiary
Wanna know the telltale sign someone doesn’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to the witcher 3? They place the ursine set anywhere on a tierlist besides no 1. Its not even funny how stupidly easy the game becomes once you put this armor on + 2-3 other perks. Even after the nerfs you take almost 0 damage and can deal stupid damage back
Seriously, griffin is the only argument and my favorite but ursine on stats alone is better. I ran ursine chest and swords with wolven pants boots and trousers for a hybrid 3 set all around build DM enemy upscale and was extremely fun
Manticore with cluster bombs and a skill in general that make you don't take damage from your bombs this build clear groups of enemy really well with sanum -> dragon dream -> dancing star -> grapeshot
I used to think that the bear armor was one of the worst, but mine abilities choices were really bad. I was focused on adrenaline points and Quen which made Geralt actually weak. In additional skills, there is a bear school tech, which increase power of heavy attack and gives more hp for each part of heavy armor. So now I am trying to beat the game with red and green skills, relying on heavy attack and alchemy bonuses, that gives additional hp. I am wonder how much skill points it will take, cause some skills you are take just for unlocking next ones haha. Currently I can take a fight with monsters that have twice higher level then Geralt, and have a good time. In future, I suppose that having a high chance of rechanting Quen is already a big deal, and not doing damage with that sign is okay. You have two swords after all.
i swear people sleep on the resistances of the viper set. it is tanky af and combined with aard you can do some serious damage. also less potential to break the balancing and it is the best looking by far.
i did it ad it became boring u just one shot everyone in death march and upscalling enemy so i did bear build grandmaster with metamorphosis so its a bit challenge
Great video thanks. Playing my first play through. Think I'm level 26. Just killed big dude on mountain. Missed a lot of side quest planned on going back to them later but I'm too op now and they give no experience. I do have enemy level scaling on. Feel like I should stop now and go do all monster contracts and still available side quest. I'm sure I missed a bunch of them
Even if they don't give much experience, the side quests and contracts are still worth doing for the stories they tell. Enemy scaling will mean you at least get some experience for your efforts.
agreed - side quests are always worth it. The quality writing is what makes it so. Enemy upscaling does not work for monsters from CONTRACTS - they are worth doing close to your lvl - so the game doesn't build up towards a pushover fight
@TeKla right on. Damn. But I'm right on the level for the level I'm at in the game. If i would have done all the side quest I feel like I would have been way too over leveled for where I'm at on the story.
@@KinGDGaminG63 You are right. You will be overleveled if you try doing everything available before moving on with the main story. Luckily main story is mostly just that - a story. Not so much combat. To give example - you are expected to be lvl 34 to begin Blood an Wine dlc. Meanwhile after main game and Hearts of Stone expansion most players end up lvl 38-40. I ended up doing whole B&W main story while being 5-6 lvls above reccomended and it was never a problem - game never felt like a pushover. If you feel overleveled - rise the difficulty overall. Turn enemy upscaling - works for random world monsters. If, after doing all that, it's still too easy - it means you are a cheeky smartass using some very OP tactic - thats on you at this point hahahaha. Best of luck!
I just wish we could craft all GM sets without having the lesser versions of those sets. Treasure hunts are fun but if you wanna have an endgame collection of all of them, it becomes very tedious. Also, I'd love a dungeon-like room in Corvo Bianco where you can keep all of your armors and weapons, kinda like a treasure room.
@@scottyjd93 You do, to get master crafted, you need superior, for superior, you need enhanced, for enhanced you need the most basic form, not even including the materials you need to get, it’s very tedious, and switching builds is expensive and by expensive I mean EXPENSIVE, I’m talking upwards of 50k, to have the 6 piece set bonus, you need all 6 pieces, it’s so very expensive, but you know what, it’s still the best game to this day.
My favorite combo is the forgotten woven swords and the wolven set, they blead give magic damage and ans adrenaline perfect for a mgaic focused hybrid build.
I always rock cat. I love going full combat glass cannon or euphoria. Alot of people hate the hood, I love it. Witch hunter mask makes it to where you can toggle it on or off more or less. Just wish the black dye worked appropriately for it.
Bear set is one of the better ones for hardeest dificulty , because of resistances and that queen intencity and chance to get free cast. Im suprised you didnt rank it higher, it is strong maybe you didnt play it much because you didnt like astethics of it. But if you try the hardest dificulty deffinetly try Bear set. That free queen casts saved me countless times in end game, vs vampires ect . On hardest dificulty it is probably one of very few viable sets because enemies hit so hard you need those high resistances and also quen maxed too .
in terms of aesthetic basic bear set and master wolven set are the best (don’t like that metal plate we get on shoulders in grandmaster wolven set, it makes it too bulky). In terms of effectiveness: Feline - the strongest one if you’re aiming for full combat build. Combined with feline school techniques it makes you a killing machine either you use euphoria or blood bath mutation. Manticore - if you’re unlike the author acknowledging the alchemy, it’s easily your number one pick. Despite euphoria was nerfed in the next gen update due to lowered toxicity limit, I still believe it’s the most popular and powerful mutation. Extra toxicity and crit damage bonuses mixed with proper alchemy tree skills and right decoctions make Geralt almost godlike in this gear. More than that, if you’re missing some variety in your gameplay without signs, you can always enchant the sword with triumph enchantment and use flood of anger perk. Both of them got extremely buffed in this update. Besides, I consider the manticore set canon friendly and very suitable for blood and wine setting. Ursine - this set provides you tons of resistances. Despite all witcher gear got nerfed, you are still able to rich that invincible Geralt mode with this set using mutated skin mutation (for tank builds). Adrenaline gain is insane with this set which allows you to use whirl as long as you like. However, you can enchant it to be like a light armor and use feline school technique in order to increase your dps. Griffin - this one just makes you an overpowered mage being able to cast the signs non stop. I really like yrden bonus, but personally, I don’t feel sign builds are like something natural to the witcher-verse. Don’t get me wrong, I know that Geralt does use the signs in the books, though they don’t seem so poweful as in the game, especially igni. More than that, best North’s swordsman not using his sword…meh. Wolven set just provides you bits of every bonus from other sets e.g. adrenaline gain, sign intensity, attack rate, but it really doesn’t take you to the top of any of that. Even the reworked set bonus isn’t that good: at he point you’ve crafted GM wolven set or started NG+ you’re probably dealing much more damage than your bleeding effects. I think it could work on death march on really big mobes, though it’s not that powerfull.
@@rei8968 after the 4.00 update it got significantly buffed. When you have 3 adrenaline points you you can cast a sign, which will be buffed 300% and will be activated as if you’ve learned all perks of this sign, including sign alternative modes, like shield quen. Don’t forget that euphoria buffs signs too. Although, it will cost you all adrenaline, it’s still very powerful. Besides gaining adrenaline isn’t that hard at time when this perk is available. As i mentioned, triumph enchantment allows you to use this ability more often. Overall, It’s an option for those who want Geralt to be a swordfigher but still feel lack of mage gameplay.
@@kater92 Thanks for that explanation. I can see why I ignore that skill. I love to see how high I can get my DPS with 3 adrenaline points with a fully charged rend on a frozen opponent.
YES! Finally a ranking that puts lore and aesthetics in frame as well. Ursine is the most OP true, but the bottom half physics jankiness plus how it looks in cinematics is meh, also it makes the game too easy. WOLF SCHOOL SET FTW
My all time favorite by look combo is Chest form viper, and boots, pants, gloves from Wolven set, everything with black dye, i also have some mods for darker chainmail on viper
Mine is very similar like yours, but only in 1st place is Griffin and 2nd is Wolf, I have always them in my inventory and change on the mood, but I prefer Griffin because it looks more like an real armor, Wolf look more like reinforced clothes to me.
man, i wish they added grandmaster viper set. since they spent time to implement netflix set as a quest. could at least make grandmaster viper and have diagrams for sale/find in toissant.
Griffin is the best by a mile. The set bonuses make everything else worthless. Build igni yrden heavy attack and you are equipped to counter everything in the game. The stamina boost from medium armor talent combined with the use 1 get 1 free sign bonus is just godly. euphoria with troll, ekhidna, water hag, katakan decoctions is the cherry on top. You get this set first at level 11, and get tier 2 before you will have wolf or bear at all, and likely not cat unless you specifically drop everything to rush it at level 17, means your coin will be well invested into griffin anyway and you should just stick with it. If you hard prio place of power stones you can be online at level 6. Level 11 if you kinda focus the PoP stones as you play. Super bonus is you can upgrade the starter wolf chest armor and wear it with the griffin pants gloves and boots, all dyed white, you will be smashing every enemy type in the game in style. **edit** runeright deflection on the body because archers are the only annoying enemy in the game and severance on the swords so you can snipe with rend, these runes are also good because you don't need to pay the 15k for level 3 runeright.
Do those set bonusses only come on the hard difficulty? Because I've been playing on the normal difficulty and can't see the set bonusses. I've all the master crafted griffin armor and swords, and I'm close to finishing the game. But I think I might have made a mistake with the difficulty. I've done all the side quests, witcher contracts and treasure hunts that were close or below my player lvl before I continued with the main story. That made me kinda overleveled and I never really had a hard time. I kinda regret on not playing on the hard difficulty now... Also because the Axii + Puppet skill combo was kinda broken with the more difficult monsters/bosses.
Set bonuses are grandmaster level perks. Need the Blood and Wine DLC though, only there will you meet the master armorer/blacksmith who gives you the missions for each schools' respective grandmaster diagrams and will be able to craft them for you.
Playing the wolven set right now, but I seem to be unable to cast the alternate yrden via flood of anger. When I hold down R2 + 🔼 it just casts the upgraded normal version. Can someone tell me why it isnt working?
Doesn't Levity from the runewright solve the Ursine stamina issue? As far as I understood, the only "downside" of Levity would be that you can't use the Bear School Techniques ability ... but you can use Cat School instead. And, of course, Levity costs you 3 juicy glyph slots, which you might have wanted for something else.
@@ZeroOmega-vg8nq Did Levity get nerfed? Or the bear gear? I only just tried them together for the first time with next gen and it didn't seem as OP as I had read.
Ursine is the best because quen is the best, it also increases adrenaline point gain the most which is op if u know how to use it and it looks badass honestly if you ask me how I imagine real impenetrable armor looking like that's what comes to mind
I mean the viper set has 40 damage resistance to monsters and since that’s the most important on higher difficulties wouldnt that make it the best set along with its versatility
Haven't really touched the Next Gen uptade. But Manticore, Manticore all the way. Specially given how OP Alchemy builds are. Second to that I'd say Bear since Alchemy Bear builds are also OP af.
since I used the feline set, it is my go-to set and just collecting other sets for collection. as for the hood, it reminds me of playing aassassin's creed but being a witcher. :D
On Death March I’m using the Temarian set. I have the Mutated Skin mutation. I use Feline swords with 15% bleed (they match the armor) and slot in 15% Burn gems and have 15% poison talent. I have no combat talents. I just despise the insane high damage in the game and the insane high armor, so I downgrade myself to have a little bit of a challenge on Death March. DM is hard is the first 10 lvls or so, but after that it’s just spank spank spank…
Yeah I agree. Its why I stopped playing with Griffin and Ursine builds. Theres not a single threat in the game anymore. Being able to take a hundred hits or spam-abusing signs is not my idea of fun gameplay.
Ursine. Next question. But nah seriously judging on looks is pretty silly considering griffin is prob the second best. A full signs build guaranteeing burn, stagger or just outright stun to be one shot trivialises every fight. Lvl 20. Vs lvl 40 archgriffin. 2 igni's and dead in 30 secs
Personally i'm only interested in the looks, in previous playtyrough i used the Ursine set, in the current one i plan to use Ursine again with the Wolven jacket for when i'm in Touassaint and Novigrad and the Ursine coat for when i'm in Skellige or Velen.
bro why? The hood is my favorite feature on the Feline set. And Geralt look more mysterious as an assassin. And also, why don't you do a Euphoria build on Feline set. It would be more damage efficient and healthy. Personally I don't think any heavily sword build could surpass Euphoria. That cat school build should be second tier next to Griffin sigh build at the top.
Ursine Gear is the best overall, looks and damage mitigation wise, with levity of course second is the Feline Gear +%50 attack power if you are good at dodging attacks but i don't like the looks of it... PS: I don't think grand master set bonuses doesn't matter in this game so i always ignore them.
I really like the sign build for griffin... but I've heard rumors about severe diminishing returns in NG+ at higher levels. Is this something the next-Gen patch fixed?
Signs never really deal that much damage on their own - what makes it crazy powerful is applying burning to groups of enemies or big monsters that would normally wreck you if you tried to use just your blade. This Griffin build is so satisfying in Toussaint when you're dealing with the Hans Bases. Yrden plus Igni makes it easy whereas it's actually pretty difficult with any other build.
Man talking about why this because heavy set or why that because light set but never mentions the mutations and how they impact your playstyle in Blood and Wine
What's your favorite witcher set? 😀
Manticore, but i like wolven a lot as well

I've been thinking about playing around with the wolven set and cat eyes. Stacking bleed might be really fun if it's strong
@@OnStrike69 worth giving it a try. At least you can reset with a single potion if it doesn't work out... need to try mutated skin or metamorphosis at some point.
How are you on a 3rd playthrough is it a ng+ cycle? Ive only ever gotten 1 ng+. I play on console so maybe thats the issue
6:26 the point of aard/axi is to stun enemies so you can attack their backs for massive ez damage
Putting bear armor so low made this ranking completely obsolete. Its easily top 3 or the the best armor in the game if you build into it
I personally feel it's the best because it can be turned into light armor with the 75% dam resistance. I use a Quinn build with the protection runes free quin when you enter combat and all other runes with 10% to Quinn and wolf grandmaster trousers because they have four rune slots and the two best level 100 swords you can get have 40% to Quinn as well
It looks horrible, especially on horseback where u see that asscrack in armor so dumb.
IMHO aard synergizes well with the light armor/fast attack style of cat. Cat school is basically unmatched single-target DPS focusing mainly on dodge, but it really struggles with mobs and heavily armored enemies
I was having a lot of fun with a feline spellsword build- mainly focused on the usual combat abilities but fully w/ upgraded aard (lvl 3 shockwave is OP against high level enemies w/ a lot of armor and huge HP pools, flat 10% damage per hit. Works even on golems and elementa). Had to burn a few points for req but picking up melt armor for igni and lvl 3 delusion for axii work great with the build (both mechanics wise and thematically IMHO)
Basically gives you great knockdown/crowd control for mobs without sacrificing a ton of attack power/crit potential. I think that's why they included the increase to aard power on the feline silver sword, it makes up for a lot of the set's shortcomings
With the next gen update reducing the max cost from 5 to 3 it opens up a lot of fun hybrid build possibilities
PS with replenishment runeword on swords your sword damage counts for the sign you charge it with. When your sword is charged with quen it makes it vampiric and the damage you do restores your vitality. When paired w/ the grandmaster ursine bonus you're looking at tripling your sword damage and also giving it lifesteal
In addition to what you said, which I agree with, aard also staggers, so his complaint about rear attacks is actually negated somewhat if he were to use aard and move around the way a light build should.
yeah exactly. stagger, roll behind, fast attack
works great for shield users and large monsters
Huge fan of the forgotten wolven set.
Love the video! Looking for a new build and this was very helpful.
If youre playing on pc you can get rid of the cat school hood using console commands
Finally I’ve been waiting for this video
What's your favourite witcher set? 😀
@@norzza I like Griffen and forgotten wolven a lot by my build matches feline more so I’ll go with feline and it looks cool too
Piercing Cold Aard plus Forgotten Wolf is pretty insane i tell ya
I used an Ursine chest piece and Manticore gloves, boots, pants. Also put a light armour enchantment on an Ursine chest piece.
I haven't played the Witcher 3 after the update, but before the update, this combo made Deathmarch feel like a tutorial.
Wouldve been nice to be able to swap between the gears appearances. I liked some of the more simple level 1 looks more than the kitted out level 5 sets
Manticore is the most beautiful plus euphoria build is so fun
Same since I hate that you need the swords too for the bonus
@@David-nq8cv yeah, and the bonuses are not that useful anyway. Maybe just the griffin one, 3 pieces bonus is casting 2 signs quickly, that comes in handy whatever set of abilities you use. Ursine swords just can't be beaten, as witcher swords go.
Wicked video buddy 👍🏻 😁
Red Ursine is my favourite looking set and that basically all I used back on last gen.
I'll work towards a Wolf set this time. 😁 👌🏻
Nice one!
Wolven + Cat Eyes + Tracking Bolts would be extremely good if bleeding does the damage that it's claiming
The look of the season 1/forgotten wolf armor is so fire. And super lore accurate
I like the manticore armor, cause it brings me back to the first game ✨
Wanna know the telltale sign someone doesn’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to the witcher 3? They place the ursine set anywhere on a tierlist besides no 1. Its not even funny how stupidly easy the game becomes once you put this armor on + 2-3 other perks. Even after the nerfs you take almost 0 damage and can deal stupid damage back
I can forgive someone for putting it in 2nd place maybe. But SECOND LAST is fucking absurd
Seriously, griffin is the only argument and my favorite but ursine on stats alone is better. I ran ursine chest and swords with wolven pants boots and trousers for a hybrid 3 set all around build DM enemy upscale and was extremely fun
@@screaminseaman6121 sounds fun. Am gonna try to make a conductors of magic firestream igni build next.
You have
two swords after all.
I like how you pronounce yrden ’jöörden’ hehe
Ursine armor with correct build is absolutely great. You feel like a fast moving tank. That beeing said, you really need to work for such a build.
i swear people sleep on the resistances of the viper set. it is tanky af and combined with aard you can do some serious damage. also less potential to break the balancing and it is the best looking by far.
Manticore. But my favorite armor overall is Han Gaith armor by far. I’m just too big a fan of Dracula
Great video! Though I must point out that statistically Ursine Gear is pretty much the strongest set in the game. It really is not a question.
ursine deserved more! it's such a good set
The forgotten wolven set is straight up broken with piercing cold and if you build it right
i did it ad it became boring
u just one shot everyone in death march and upscalling enemy
so i did bear build grandmaster with metamorphosis so its a bit challenge
@@norzza yeah this
@@KinGDGaminG63 You are right.
Grandmaster feline armor hood goes down when you put glasses or a mask on Gerald.
I’m using it with the hipster ray ban black glasses rn
Great video.
Griffin with rotation engraved on it for signs. Ursine with levity engraved on it for swords. Those 2 are my favorites
Viper set should have added grand master bonus...
There's mods for a grandmaster version but CDPR should've given that set a bonus regardless since only perk is immunity to poison
@@David-nq8cv I had mods for it, critical hit chance 10% from part od set, and working only in poisoned enemy.
@@David-nq8cv Immunity to poison is kinda a joke when golden oriole exists
This is the first video ever ranking the Ursine so low. No offense since it is your opinion and I respect it, but I think you are underestimate it
Oh, neat; Since I have always worn the glasses, I never noticed the hood before.
Pretty sure you don’t need the lesser sets for grandmaster. Just for up to master crafted
@@scottyjd93 Nah, unless they recently changed it. I could only do the Manticore
Can you please make a video with the best build for every set? I mean a brief description for every case but all together in to a video.
You can't really go wrong with any of the armor sets, but I really like the look of cat ,viper, and manticore.
I always rock cat. I love going full combat glass cannon or euphoria. Alot of people hate the hood, I love it.
Witch hunter mask makes it to where you can toggle it on or off more or less. Just wish the black dye worked appropriately for it.
Viper and Forgotten Wolven are my favourites, love how they look
Wolven set is both aesthetically pleasing, and the bonuses are great.
Manticore or Cat with Aerondight and Iris
Wolven and Griffin. I'm a sign/combat guy. Wolven is a good mix of both. Griffin is great for signs but just okay for combat.
in terms of aesthetic basic bear set and master wolven set are the best (don’t like that metal plate we get on shoulders in grandmaster wolven set, it makes it too bulky).
In terms of effectiveness:
Feline - the strongest one if you’re aiming for full combat build.
What is the perk of flood of anger. I've never had any use for it other than testing out a glitch.
I love to see how high I can get my DPS with 3 adrenaline points with a fully charged rend on a frozen opponent.
the idea of the cat armour is you're dancing around your enemies so you are definitely getting back hits.
Anyone noticed since the update the toxic build took a major hit, heath just runs down so fast
The forgotten Wolves looks amazing, the best for me
YES! Finally a ranking that puts lore and aesthetics in frame as well. Ursine is the most OP true, but the bottom half physics jankiness plus how it looks in cinematics is meh, also it makes the game too easy.
WOLF SCHOOL SET FTW
Grandmaster forgotten Wolf is my favorite so far! Can't use the dye on it for some reason though!
the wolf set increase the max bleed effect by 1 for each adrenalin point. with 3 possible adrenalin point wouldn't that make 4 max bleed effects?
Is wolf armour good for a sign and attack power hybrid build? Wanna do light attacks and igni mainly
Definitely!
@@norzza sweet i will probably just use Griffin until level 14 then :)
My all time favorite by look combo is Chest form viper, and boots, pants, gloves from Wolven set, everything with black dye, i also have some mods for darker chainmail on viper
I’m using the Vampire set lovin the vitality boost on kills and the grandmaster forgotten swords
I just finished my NG+ death march playthrough yet I can’t uninstall the game…it’s been a hell of a ride!!
7:08
How can i get the armor ??
Doesn't Levity from the runewright solve the Ursine stamina issue? As far as I understood, the only "downside" of Levity would be that you can't use the Bear School Techniques ability ... but you can use Cat School instead. And, of course, Levity costs you 3 juicy glyph slots, which you might have wanted for something else.
Levity before the next gen update is why bear armor was super broken
@@ZeroOmega-vg8nq Did Levity get nerfed? Or the bear gear? I only just tried them together for the first time with next gen and it didn't seem as OP as I had read.
@@weetabixharry armors got nerf and reworked and some of the runewords were buffed snd changed
I love the wolven gear because of the looks and that Geralt is from the school of the wolf
Enchant the wolf swords with elation and the wolf armor with levity and use the cat school techniques.
For looks I go with wolven/forgotten but in NG+ I went with viper since that witcher set carried me through HoS and B&W in old save
Full Grifin set with stats pumping up Yrden + Entanglement. Wow
I personally like the Netflix one, I've been Rocking only that through my entire new+ save
I really like the sign build for griffin... but I've heard rumors about severe diminishing returns in NG+ at higher levels. Is this something the next-Gen patch fixed?
I'm also curious if Next-Gen sets (6 bonus) outclass the Aerondight?
Next gen actually nerfed witcher sets
Next-gen sign builds are incredible, and steam roll DM.
@@AndrewDoyle Have you run a blizzard/piercing cold build ? Infinite casting obliterates.
Man talking about why this because heavy set or why that because light set but never mentions the mutations and how they impact your playstyle in Blood and Wine
This maybe a dumb question but where can I get the wolf school armor set not the one from the Netflix show.
Kaer Morhen. Google will have the exact location 👍
@@norzza yeah it said go to the signal tower but there is nothing there for me related to the armor
