- Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm show off their bunker technique and philosophy with the Milled Grind HI-TOE. Learn about wedge techniques they use in their game. The MG HI-TOE wedge has an expanded toe area to deliver high-spin performance whether you’re taking full swings on your approach or playing finesse shots around the green.
TaylorMade’s HI-TOE wedge lineup has been expanded to include a full range of wedge lofts from 50° to 64°. Featuring full-face scoring lines in the 56° to 64° and standard scoring lines in the 50° to 54°, each HI-TOE wedge also has an expanded toe area to deliver high-spin performance whether you’re taking full swings on your approach or playing finesse shots around the green.
The HI-TOE wedge offers three different sole grinds to match your style of play:
Standard Sole (50°, 52°, 54°): The all-purpose grind that is perfect for full approach shots into the green. This sole is well suited for both normal and soft turf conditions. All of these lofts feature standard scoring lines.
4-Way Sole (56°, 58°, 60°): New 4-way cambered sole with a mid-bounce design of 10°. The leading edge has less belly with a more blunt contour. This new sole has an increased trailing edge and heel relief-great for players with average or steep swings from normal turf and/or softer sand.
ATV Grind (58°, 60°, 64°): Channel-cut ATV mid-sole with a bounce of 12°. The “V” shaped leading edge moves through the turf and sand more seamlessly for better contact.

Rory with complete control in the sand. Crazy how he can't stay more consistent.
It's not about his shot making ability... more about playing the correct shots in a tournament. Not sure if he has his dispersion mapped out for each club, or if he plays for his best shots only.
@@ZickDorito Agree. Maybe not to the extreme of Phil but it seems like he has an all or nothing mindset at all times. Great when it works for 4 rounds but that's rare.
His wedges in general are bad, he's got so much talent, I really feel like this is the main reason he hasn't brought home majors recently
Love the fact that these experts take the time to make these videos. That being said it seems like it’s been a while since Tiger has been in one which is a shame because he brings a ton of knowledge and I always enjoy his charisma

Look at these guys , even though they are world class . They still want to play more and more . Want to hit every short. They need more balls lols. The hunger for improvement is immense. How much they are indulged in hitting them to perfection . Nice video.
Most of these top golfers do not like to practice, they cannot wait to hit the bar after a round. Most have undisciplined practice habits. DJ is notorious for lack of practice, even his father-in-law could attest to that fact.
I really do feel these guys respect and like each other which is pretty cool.

You can learn everything about a bunker shot by how Rory set up his shot at 1:35. Look at his stance, feet, open the clubface.
I like how they kind of fan boy out on each other. Even though they're all considered some of the best in the world, there's not a lot of ego in that sand trap.
These guys spend more time in the sand than David Hasslehoff.

Swinging easy and taking as little sand as possible with a slightly open face works best for me. If I did what McIlroy does somebody could get hurt.
I just keep picturing me and my 4 golf buddies doing this in a practice bunker with endless golf balls at a local course and just keep thinking how bad it would turn out

If it helps anyone. To ensure I hit the sand first, I put my weight on my right leg.
Stupid criticisms of this video. It’s not a formal lesson. It’s not scripted. And it’s FREE!!! So just watch what they do. With the repetitions you can pick up certain fundamentals from each of them. See how they set up and how they don’t put the brakes on the downswing.
open face like that you wanna make sure you are hitting behinde the ball and making sure your hitting the sand first and let it bounce and left the ball. if you dont you are going to blade it 60y across the green lol
