nice watching this in 2019 and prices are sky high
same I wanna import to sweden I wanna have a second jdm car but want my second to be a old school jdm compared to my "new" 370z :(
@@rtzeexy374 then get a 240z
lol I just want a JDM GC8
@@MrJohnnygalan ok
yep, love how he said a 180sx was about 3000 dollars but now they go for 15,000 to 20,000 and same with r32's. Bruh
This was made in 2016 so basically every GTR is 50K
yep
I think its more now, fml
No it's still same
Check
fuuuck lmao
Very nice to see someone giving a honest truth about importing cars from Japan. Great work mate
great video. very important and straight up. thank you
Watching in 2020 makes me wanna cry. I just finished importing my R33 GTR from Japan. Ended up with about 37k $ hahaah fuck meeee
Ouch
@Inocencia Monsen no, no one gives a shit
Did you use a website to do it? Or how did you get it there
@@Riez_00 straight factss😂 i bett the mf didnt even buyy it
It’s about 47-55K now
Omg a younger sam. It's crazy to hear the prices on cars a few years ago to now.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video for us, I appreciate it and the realness/truth is nice to hear.
Worth a Sub. currently looking for a R32 and this was sooooo helpful
Randall Beaudin did you ever get it?
Did you get it yet? Or are you still saving or something?
Ether he quite or still waiting
@@DedecaPT Mhm. Maybe he got it and forgot about this comment.
15k and 12k omg I have to get my hands on one of those, Me dadddd!!! Stop saving money for college and give it to me 😂😂
Basically "how to import cars, come to us we got you"
Damn one day i really hope to get my first car from Japan they look amazing compared to the ones from the dealership
Australia: Car price + $1,600 shipping + 10% gst tax + duty charge + $3,000 compliance + cleaning fee + fee for your services. Am I missing anything?
I just want the European 2004 Mitsubishi Outlander
._.
I'll give you one for free
Lmao
That car is a trash because its slow and unsafe
plus it sounds like buying from auction gives the customer more choice than if they show up at a lot and have to pick what the importing used car dealership decided they might want. I'm in Canada, I assume the regulations are in between the Australian and the USA ones.
so basically dont live in Australia lmao
Not too sure what he means? i drive a fully modified r33 thats a straight up import from japan! no dramas at all! oh and i live in australia where skylines are everywhere!!
HAhaha don't live in Australia you mean the U.S dumb ass
Go to Canada
@@simonhendriksjade our import laws are shit
@@brandobee2264 I agree
This man has the coolest job ever
Appreciate the honest, love the video and I finally found the person I can go to for a import.
Awesome channel dude, earned yourself a new sub!
In Jamaica we have to pay 80% of the value of the vehicle to clear it. Note they include she shipping fee as apart of the vehicle price.
10,000 vehicle and shipping
8,000 to clear from wharf
Insurance 200 to 3000 depending on company, history of driver and type
Registration which varies depending on CC
Fitness 100
Plates 50
Vehicle title about 30
Worse case clearing and getting your vehicle on the road ends up costing more than the vehicle.
You can buy any import vehicle from a import crew called Black Ops Performance, but thats here in florida im not sure if there located anywhere else but they do sell skylines and stuff at a pretty legit price.
and is illegal
They got shut down for illegally importing
Yeah they’re hella illegal. And shady. They got shutdown for scamming people
tbh since im 14 and im going to try and save 10,000$ to buy a r32 rolling chassis as a project car this was really helpfull. cause i always see a video not really saying what i was asking so this was a great video
Phenomenal video! Loved the information👌🏽 Thanks brotha! Once ready, definitely will be hitting you up to do business🚘
Great video. I thoroughly enjoyed all this genuinely interesting information.
Thanks mate! Glad you liked it
I live in Las Vegas and a 25 year old car is considered a classic vehicle so that’s good on my end
funny how in 2016 everything skyrocketed but looking at 2021 prices where an S13 is $20-30k after it lands on US soil and a clean R32/R33 GTR is well above $50-70k USD landed.
I do work here about cars and I have auction membership, this guy is right that shit is happening so much, without any report cars are exporting everyday I saw that happening in person. Sorry for my broken English
Thanks for the video bro. Very informative/no frills just facts.
In the States wanted stock verison like the Australia too, but in the States buy import taxes including the dock fee you could import cars all the states easier expect in California. Also the Californian wanted import cars from they needed to have CARB to reginstion to the DMV and for to passed smog.
Thank you! I appreciate the good information.
Also your job sounds like a lot of fun. I'm jealous.
Thank you.very informative.i hope the next video is about importing trucks from japan.thank you
Thanks was waiting for this video
First video I seen by you and it really helps me understand what I didn't know yet. Your a cool dude 💯
U seem trustworthy man I would go threw you to purchase a car thanks for the video you sound on point
Very informative video! Just gathering information on this topic, and got a lot of answers, thank you!
You say that it sucks that prices have gone up in Japan, yet that's a lot of money going to Japan. It's people who would have been getting pennies to the dollar for cars that are finally getting full value for them. Don't see it as a bad thing, embrace it and take advantage of it.
Don't forget you need to change the radio as Japan uses different frequencies. So that will be additional expense.
DrSysop Not necessary when all you need is your CD EUROBEAT player lol
Realy honest advice, thank you!
Does the same count for Motorcycles i wonder ?
I'd like you to make a new video on this in today's market
so let's say in a couple of years when I'm older and I want to import an R34 to the US I have to go through a lot of paperwork right that means finding the car that I want for a good low price as well
Good video, would be nice for a more in depth explanation for a us importation.
Don’t forget good ol stamp duty. Hahah. Australia
Fair go. Great and informative video. The only RUclips video I've subscribed so far. Very tempting to go through the process you recommended. Will do the 2 document test on some dealer here in Perth. Thanks. Will hear from me.
And what if your car isn’t 25 years old?
In the USA, they will straight up demolish the car right before your eyes. I mean that it will be crushed to the point of no chance to repair it. Even if its a month off from being 25 years old.
just make sure you keep that baby protected 😭
Thank you for a TRUTHFUL video.
you caught my attention and i will be in contact soon. evo7 incoming reeeeeeeh
Awesome video and very informational for Australians.

I no longer export cars but you can contact my close friend here in Japan that does it. Jitsu Motors info@jitsu-motors.com His name is Jeff, tell him I sent you & he will look after you!
It is not legal man. A GTR R34 will not be legal in the united states until it is 25 years old. The only way you can bring one over is if you say it is for racing or a show car only. At which point you will only be able to drive it for very little miles per year. There are places that will allow you to buy and additionally allow you to store the car in Japan until it is ready to ship. The only R34's that are legal in the US were brought over from Motorex (CA, USA) and those were grandfathered in after Motorex was shut down due to fraud in relation to DOT standards. Please save yourself the headache and do not buy an R34 if you are hoping to drive it before 2024.
SAMMIT so to get a cheaper car, you gotta go deep in Nihon???? i seen some legit people, but they charge 25k for an R33, not 34???? and they say it can be shipped to America. you say 10-15? So a plane ticket... hmmh. 25 it is. mf-er! who has the time to travel to go there, time is money. and i speak not too much nihongo. no lol obviously.
Very helpful, Thank you😀
thank you so much bro your review is so informative
my friend bought a r34 gtr 1999 (i live in norway) hes car was welded in the front so when he actually crashed it the car split in 2 peices and he paid 75k USD and thats the prices r34 gtr's are in norway.. he got ripped off so badly. the crash was only 90km/t and hit a tree after slowing the car down very much. only damage he had was concusion. so very glad you talk about people ripping people off in japan
It's actually normally not the people in Japan ripping people off. It's the people who are importing them into other countries that are. Normally what happens is company importing them into your country buy wrecked cars cause they are cheaper. Pay some body shop in Japan to do the cheapest repair job & hide the damage so they can import it to their country as a road registrable car. Then once its in their country they sell it as if there was no issue with it.
Abstract Studios dont get me wrong, im not saying its normal i just know it happens from time to time and my friend got quite unlucky i would say. anyways love ur videos and hope i can go to autosaloon makuhari messe again sometime. traveled all the way from norway just to see the cars :)
I'm really glad your friend is ok & it sucks that his car was a bad egg. TAS is awesome! I'll be there this year!
Everyone wants a high performance JDM car meanwhile I’m looking for a hilux or land cruiser
Me too man, I want a 97 Hilux, on,u got two more years. Just enough time to figure out how to get it in California lol
Theres a huge following for the land cruisers in the u.s. theres a jdm depot in florida and one I believe in virginia they have those suvs, diesels an gassers, low miles already here and registered. Not sure how well off the dealers are. But I have seen plenty of the toyota land cruisers and 4 wheel drive low mileage jdm Van's. They even off road like the cruisers in some cases. Good luck finding what you wany
Everyone looking for Supras, Skylines and Evos or STIs... while I'm here saving to get my hands on a Toyota Chaser 1999 with the 1JZ vvti. I'm pretty sure prices are going to skyrocket but not as much as the Skyline or Supra.
Thanks for this video
Very informative video!
Thanks!
Great explanation for a newb like me - Thanks!
Great info mate Arigato yoroshiku
So, can you import a car that is not within the 25 year rule?
It doesn't sound complicated at all to import to Australia. I didn't know the compliance cost will be that expensive though. If I want one I'll travel to Japan myself and choose the Car I really want. Then go back home with the peace of mind.
Great video, very informative. Thanks!
Great video man.
I want a R34 with a blown engine. In order to register it in California I would either have to hash out $30,000 to make them OBD2 compliant for the RB or swap in a VQ37 for a fraction of the price.
Man I can’t wait to get a Skyline Silivia
In my country for example, you cant even register most of the jdm cars.. have to take it to poland or to germany first..
Great info! Thanks for the Vid!!!
Thanks so much for the info. Really helpful
Hi mate, I am your latest subscriber and fallen in love with your blogs. Keep up the amazing work and by the way I am also following you on Instagram
In America, youd report them to the better business bureau.
Great! Now I just wait till I’m 16!
*laughs in broke 16 year old*
Haha, now you gotta wait till you’re 25 before you could afford a JDM the prices are FAAAACKED
Great info bro
In Australia there is a well known dodgy dealer named Edward Lee's from Sunrise auto or car's. Look him up. Nothing but car odo's rolled back.
When I used to live in Australia I head about this guys dodgey work. It's crazy he isn't in jail.
great info thx for you solid information
never noticed that sammit is a love liver.
Looks like ill be doing business with you in the future. Lol. Thanks for the video bud
pretty cool video nice job!!!
Have u ever shipped any car to the Caribbean specifically barbados
Official Auction sheet / department of transport for last known registered odometer reading
There's one new car maybe worth brining in. But does this mean no new model can be brought in? 2022 WRX Lavorg with a Manual transmission would be very nice
hey dude good informative video,,,but do you have someone that you know in America who can help me import a Dodge Challenger...
Cheers
I’ll send you a fuckin challenger bro 😂
You want one?
What's the best website for buying imports
brave auto
japaneseclassics
Jdm expo
carfromjapan
Have you actually bought a car from here/?
in australia cars over 10 years old dont need aussie compliance plates fitted by some dude that has a compliance licence for that model. Is that the case with Japanese cars. for instance a 1975 Camaro or other cars over 10 years old dont need the windscreen changed or the seatbelts changed or the bits to aussie standards.
Hey! Awesome video man. Really liked it! Will subscribe to your channel :)
You can import a r34 gtr under a display car you can only drive 2500 miles tho
For real?
STARZ NATION yea you need a DOT approval before you export it from another country but you can import a car for show or display but you can’t drive it above 2500 miles a year because it’s a display car you need more things but I’m not really sure what look into it further if you want more info
STARZ NATION you still need epa requirements unless the car is 21 years or older
Really great video, can you ship to Africa
Hey Sam since I subscribed I've been watching some of your older vids...this one takes the cake 👍. Are u able to help Canadians import from Japan
Use personal import.. live in japan or any exportable countries with JDMs
No restrictions
I'm from the uk how much would it cost if I used your company to import a 240sx s13
Very helpful info I’m looking into mk4 tt supra
I'd wanted to but sh*t some protective regulations are POS for 2nd hand JDM cars
but when it arrived here no conversion needed, just head unit
what about other than sports cars? like the really small vans and trucks. I'd like yo have something like that.
I will import in the future and I will use your company:)
Damn 2021 the prices are high !!!!!
It almost makes me want to cry!
We had a guy come into my work yesterday who'd just imported what looked like a clean R33 GTR with a few mods, It'd already passed customs and had a VIN number put on it and when we got it on the car hoist both sills were completely rusted out and pushed up and bent, the whole floor, boot and strut towers were also completely rusted out. I'm still trying to figure out how the hell passed inspection when it got to NZ...Anyway I'm wanting to import an AE86 to build as a drift car next year, Any idea on roughly how much a standard one goes for over there?
+ForcedFalcon that's super sad. A lot of dodgy stuff happening. :( with the AE86 you'll be looking at around the same price as a BNR32 they are getting pretty rare here now too.
Abstract Studios Yeah the guy was pretty devastated, He walked around just staring at it for awhile then walked outside without saying anything. Cheers for the reply, Time to start saving haha
If he was in Australia he can contact the ACCC & they will go after the person that sold it to him because Australia Consumer law protects you for 12months with things like this. You should do some re search might be something similar for NZ
If the car has not met the 25yr rule in the USA like the supra MK4, can you store the car when its available to pass the 25yr rule?
Francisco Grullon you could probably try to import it and not drive it until the car reaches 25 years old
Francisco Grullon just store it in canada
Francisco Grullon I think it is legal because they have supra mk4s here already
If they made the car in the USA u don't have to do the 25 year law cuz the car has a comparable likeness to a car already made here like a jdm fd or Supra nsx every car made in the USA u can by the jdm version and not have to wait 25 years
no. the car has to come into the US AFTER is has passed the 25 year rule, if you just take it out of the garage that it's been sitting in and register it they'll just take the car from you and crush it, just wait the extra couple years, and have your uncrushed supra mk4 after it's passed it's 25 years
How well do they pack the car in the container to prevent damage while it is at sea? Good info. Thanks for taking the time. Cheers.
hey man very insightful video, i was wondering if there was any chance I could import a wrx sti 22b (1998-2002) i live in Canberra, Australia and have been looking for a while but don't really know what to trust/dealership to look for over there
Yes I can help you with that. shoot me through an email to sales@otakugarage.com.au
from canberra too
you're gonna have to be really really rich
Sure you can get one for $100,000+
Same goes for us here in NZ. R32 GTR's were like 16k nz
The yanks making the price of GTR's go through the damn roof. Killer prices now. I have seen them go for between 20-60k here in the UK depending on model and mileage.
hay man plz do a vid about importing in South Africa
Much thanks!!
