    I have owned a Dremel most of my life but never thought of using it to carve. I have been making Christmas Ornaments for many years and will follow your instructions to decorate them this year. I just tried it and its so much easier then carving by hand. At age 90 I try to learn something new every day and today you were my mentor. I also plan to use the Dremel to add detail to my lathe turnings. Maybe I should buy a modern Dremel its much fancier then mine. Keep up nthe good work, Walt

    When you speed up the video, the nice, gentle, Dremel sound suddenly turns into a horrendous screeching sound that hurts the ears. I'm not sure if you knew that when you sped up the footage lol
    But aside from that, I love your tutorial. It's sooo well thought out and you don't miss anything. You make sure that we really understand, not only WHAT you're doing, but WHY you're doing it. I love that you are explaining your reasoning behind everything you're doing. That helps soo much. You've just earned a sub!!

    Hear Ye Hear Ye: I should have chose different words to communicate. When I say "It is detrimental", this is an “emotional catch phrase” - let me reword: “Not understanding these techniques could hinder your carving”. Meaning the techniques you learn will better you and not hinder you. There are a lot of carvings out there that would be better with this technique. 👍🏻

    Dude!!! You're great! Thank for lessons, tips, techniques, and tips. I am curious cause I used to draw and giving it depth and texture through learned and practices techniques. My question to you is since I am new to this is, "When you carve into any specific design out according to what it is you're trying to engrave/carve into whatever material you're working with will you add depth and/or texture according to what design it is you're engraving/carving in order for more aesthetic purposes?"

    • @CorneliusCreations
      @CorneliusCreations  4 года назад

      Yes, exactly! In fact one of my teachers told me to stop carving as deep 😁. Depending on the look you are going for and what it is that you are carving, I will sometimes not even add depth.

    You sir, have surgeons hands when it comes to your ability to make such a straight cut, what I'm really hoping is that when you started engraving that your Dremel bit (mine's a 3000 with a flexi-shaft) went flying off like it was possessed and determined to do it's own random scribblings and and scratching. I understand now, through your videos, that I never learned how to change and vary the pressure and technique when let your bit go clockwise and vice-versa. For engraving, if I already own the Dremel 3000 and I have only begun to seriously practice engraving wood and acrylic glass, should I just learn from my mistakes on cheap bits of wood and hopefully gradually get the hang of it, or would you recommend investing in the Engraver or Stylo?
    Thanks man, your videos are invaluable!

    Your video convinced me to purchase a dremel and to get my printer up and working again after 3-4 years of disuse. My only question is do you know a good website to download these patterns and designs from? Google images and Pinterest haven't been much help.

      Hey there! Happy to hear that! They are a little hard to find. I have some template packs I will be coming out with soon. There are a few I have already on howtowoodcarve.com

    I am considering a new hobby of wood carving such as your doing. My biggest concern is I have a right hand injury that bothers me quite a bit. Wondering about the force of pressure and strain your techniques do on the hands?

    I’ve just invested in a Dremel and was looking to get the best use out of it, your videos and the things your making are very impressive, your instructions are easy to follow, I look forward to giving it a go when I’ve picked up the engraving bits, thank you I’m really inspired,

      Just be sure to gut the deer before you carve it. Shew. I won't make that mistake again. Lol

    I bought some bogwood chunks from Ukraine and want to make some pendant necklaces with them. The app you used and the stencil idea is very helpful, thank you for that. The bogwood is oak and naturally stained very dark from being in the bog. It is almost 4K year old wood! They are kind of thicker pieces. Roughly 3 to 4 inches thick. I want to cut them thinner and don't have a lot of tools to work with to cut them with. Is there a way to use the dremel?
