- A neighbor reached out to me and offered to pay me to help this homeowner with their overgrown lawn. They were physically unable to maintain their property. I told the neighbor that I would do it for free. The property was in pretty bad shape. I got it cleaned up the best I could.

I remember this one and there is just so much you can do to help. The yard looks 100% better and they will have to get somebody with heavier equipment to clean up all the construction stuff, but your part looks really good.

First of all, kudos to the neighbor for stepping up to the plate, wanting to help these people. That's rare these days. Second, if you have physical problems the worst thing to have is a corner lot which is a lot of work even for somebody with no health issues. You did your usual knockout job, and yes, you still are the reigning "King of the Corner Lots". That truly was a lot of work !!

Brian the construction debris slats are called lath. They were nailed up inside an old house and then plaster was applied to them. Before sheat rock came on the market. Great job, I love watching the transformations. I have heard other youtubers mention the prevalence of corner lots. I wonder if its due to them looking twice as bad when over grown due to the larger road frontage. Watching your videos from Canada.

The strips for plaster walls were called 'lathe & plaster"@@TopNotchLawns
That is lathe and plaster construction. They do need those debris piles hauled off. Of course, this was two years ago.

Great job as always. And yes you do always get the corner lots. I see that big beautiful church across the street. When I was a kid the churches always had youth groups that would go out and help the people who needed help. Sad how our world has changed.

Nice upgrade on the property. Thank you to the neighbor for a kind offer and the cheering round of help you did for the owners. You got basics done that will last a while. A corner lot, that means a lot more space and detail work in general and tougher if people can't keep-up. Good seeing signs of old lath/plaster being replaced, and work done with shrubbery, etc. Getting things to the dump later would be another step forward.

I am disabled also at 74 yrs old. But, this lady had two really nice bikes parked outside her home. When I was 12, I was mowing our yard which was twice the size of hers. Old push mower that I had to start by a pull cord. And we lived on a hill, so pushing one way was easy, the other way, well it was up hill. What's wrong with kids today that they can't help out? At least pick up the garbage in the yard if they are smaller. But, thanks for getting the cops off her back for a while.

Those wooden slats you found are called lath,which were nailed up the wall in a horizontal stack,after which plaster was applied op top to a smooth finish.

The edges look great, Brian! I agree that a clean edge sets off a property very nicely. I also like that you used your trimmer to get rid of the grass in the road, near the curbs. So many don’t do that for some reason.

You do seem to get the ones with lots of edging. The lath and plaster stuff might be best picked up by a construction cleanup crew. Most construction sites use them throughout the building process. Great job on the edging!

Brian this transformation is 1,000times better now that you have worked on it there was a whole lot of trash that you shouldn,t have to mess with .I often wonder on some of these jobs if the person doesn,t have family or if their family is just not willing to help them it is sad that families aren,t as close knit and helpful to one another as they used to be. Well, I wonder how this property is shaping up after 2 years. I wonder why they have piles of sheet rock all crumpled up. That place could have used a couple of 10 wheel dump trucks and then some. Lots of cut, piled branches. You did a fine job on this one, Brian.

Super edging work! Love those clean lines. I remember you using the GoldenEdge blade for awhile. I thought about buying one, but a bit pricy for no more than I have to edge. I also remember you stepping into that little fenced in pet bathroom. I cringed!
