My son has been here to help take care of my yard and so much more. I pray that God will bless him every day for taking care of so many things around my house. I would have to sold my home and given my place up. I’m blessed to have him.

Thank you so much for taking this on! It's a terrible thing, getting older and being unable to do what you used to love because of physical or emotional impairments. But then to swallow your pride and ask others for help, only to have them turn you down... it is heartbreaking! You did a lovely job, and I hope the kindness you've shown will come back to you in the future!

Donna, Sounds like you've been there as have I. Never liked to ask. Always did my own and loved doing it. When my husband was dying I asked for help with my tiny patch of grass that was about 2-3 ft. high just to get it down to mow. A neighbor said he didn't have time. I asked a company and told him any price. He wanted me to sign a contract for $60 every week. They had the right to say whatever but it made my heart hurt. Something nice happened though. I came home one day and someone cut it. Maybe little garden fairies. I will never know but I thanked them out loud just in case it was the fairies. 😊

To add more punishment to myself, I just had to get chickens too! Started with 9 and now got 55 chickens! 😂 oh 2 geese and 2 ducks along with 3 dogs too! Your always welcome to come help me on my property. I could use the help! Looks great guys! Not many would take that project on and do the job as well as you did. @Marilynn Griffin, I’m 72 and started doing the same thing. Also, I’ve been packing up keep sakes to pass down to the younger generation. Packing up my husbands keep sakes for his family. My husband had open heart surgery then had a stroke so is basically bed bound. He’s only 67. So, since he can no longer work in the garage, I e been going through that and clearing all unnecessary items we no longer need or use. I DO use the garage for my painting (abstract art) and furniture building. The rest of the items in the house that I don’t want, I’ve been taking to a resale shop. They use the money to help abused women seek shelter. They also help people trying to get back on their feet from drug abuse. It feels so good not to be under so much stuff! I want a more simple life. Good luck to you and your clearing of unwanted pots, etc. hope you have a blessed day! Love from Texas, USA. ❤️🇺🇸

As you get older there are restrictions to the things you can do also with two hip replacements and a knee injury it must be difficult. The yard was really transformed, it's beautiful. I wouldn't dare put my face in it. Must be contaminated over time and not cleaning. I noticed your partner was nursing an injury he received on his finger. Sorry about that. I know how that lady feels. My garden looks so bad, overgrown. I fell and broke my hip going on three years and then had a replacement three months after the hip thing and I just can’t get outside and I can’t do yardwork and it’s so hard to find someone. I had one landscaper come in and said he would do it for $250. I have a duplex and a very small garden on my side and then there’s a hedge that needs to be trimmed down and that is just ridiculous Price. That’s what I find you’re older and disabled you get behind the eight ball and people take advantage of you. So, I say Bravo to you guys. It looks so much better and I’m sure just having that done makes the Owner feel 100 times better. You will be blessed 100 for doing that and all that you do for your community.

The idea is to never let the grass get too high, weed wack and edge once a week during rainy season. For tall grass as in this home the weed wacker is the best choice.

As a retired 30 + years RN nursing case manager in the US, in Home Health/Hospice, so many elderly are unable to manage their homes/yards. It is a source of so much stress for them. Most of their families are not nearby. You did her an invaluable service. You really did a nice job! May I ask how deep the pond is, as don’t want any children, pets…the lady herself falling in? I love to keep it as natural as possible leaving indigenous plants/trees to grow with no-to-as-little trimming as possible.
