I concur, VR workouts are the best workouts. It's getting easier and easier to convince people of this, yet it still seems so hard to get people to simply try.
This! And even when people hear about it, it's hard for most to understand what it actually is - and how easy, fun and effective it is! Wish there was an easier way to explain or demonstrate :)
Also, even playing a chill VR game, when you're standing up and moving a bit instead of sitting down on the couch it's always going to be better (calorie wise anyway rather than cardiovascular).
I am so glad you enjoyed it! 💜It was so much fun to film, but I have to admit - I can't remember being this nervous releasing a video in a looooooooong time 😬
Great video and breakdown to show the impact VR has on cardio workouts, and how important it is to push yourself to raise your heartrate to show results.
Great video. Your "twin sister in the lab coat" did a very good job! 😉 Jokes aside, I love how you are backing up the claims with hard data, showing that VR exercise is not a gimmick and it can really help improve fitness levels
Thanks for these steps, I never enjoyed working out until I discovered VR! It’s so much more fun and easy - I don’t have to waste time travelling to a gym, and don’t have to care how I look. My kids think I look like a right plonker, but I don’t mind that either! 🤷♀️🤣. My regulars are FitXR for the variety and competition, and FunFitLand for the amazing environments, music and moves, then a bit of Les Mills if I have any energy left after all that 🥳
Not having to worry about how you look is such a big deal! It sounds silly, but I forgot how much I worried about my outfit when I went to the gym... O.o Love the lineup of apps! I assume you're in EU? I haven't gotten into FunFitLand yet - but know they've expanded a lot since I talked to them almost a year ago. Might be time for a new deep-dive!
@@VikingPrincessVR I’m in Australia 🇦🇺🤗. Interestingly, we don’t have Supernatural here. I have a feeling you got me into FFL when it was in Beta - it really has just gone from strength to strength since then, and they’ve now gone live! New dances and combat workouts every week, amazing environments, commitment to continuous improvement, fabulous music! Do check them out 💜
@@VikingPrincessVR I’m not sure what happened to my response to this 🤔. I’m in Australia 😊. Interestingly, we don’t have Supernatural over here. I thought I got the tip of FFL from you when they were in Beta, but you should definitely check them out now they’ve gone live - new workouts every week, amazing environments, excellent choreography, fabulous music, and something for everyone! They also listen to feedback and aim to continuously improve their app. I look forward to your deep dive 🤗
Great video! Would be great to know how Les Mills Bodycombat XR compares agains FitXR for example. Also, how weight training can be combined with VR exercise to maximize weight loss, that also would be awesome!
Love these suggestions! The next video I'm working on will touch on the weight-training aspect, but I've been hesitant about going too deep into the fitness aspects as I do'nt want to turn new fitness enthusiasts away. I'll add it to my weekly newsletter topic and see how people respond :) For Bodycombat, I've talked about the difference/similarities in my "Best VR Fitness Apps 2024" video -- but I'll see if I can make something even more in-depth :)
@@VikingPrincessVR Thanks Tine! I understand, I'm trying to find a balance with VR excercise and weight training that works towards weight loss, but not sure still about that balance (e.g. 3 days VR excercise and 2 weight days, or 2 VR and 3 weight, 2 VR and 2 weight, etc).
I'm 6 months into using VR for workout and I am 100% sold. Does anyone know of any apps that have pushups, burpees, situps, etc? Curious to know if it would even work or if it is ill-advised. XR workout has it, but the app is old and wonky so I didn't like it. I am using Les mills body combat, Pistol whip and thrill of the fight, so probably good enough. I do adjustable dumbbells while I work :P
XR workout is the main one that has these options, but I agree - the implementation is not great. The other app you can check out is LiteSport. They also have a mixed reality mode with dumbbells that I enjoyed. They have however had a big update since the last time I tried it, so I'm not sure what they offer for free classes/trials anymore (has subscription options).
