    The "mysteriously murmured" motif reminds me of the main motif from Poem of Fire (the one you'd highlighted in red), which really fits with the idea of Lucifer as Prometheus in Romantic literature.

      Thank you! Glad you found it informative! Black Mass is evil themed and White Mass is divinity themed roughly speaking.

      The white mass was written as an exorcism for the 6th, of which scriabin thought it was possessed with evil spirits. The name was given by Scriabin himself and he famously performed the work proudly the rest of his life. The 9th sonata is cloaked in darkness, but the black mass nickname was given by critics and enthousiasts. However, Scriabin himself approved the nickname.
