    As always, great video. My trapping partner and I have a few sets out now, first check yielded our first ever over 60 lb. beaver. 62 pounds and the fur is beautiful. Even though the market isn't paying much, it's a great way to spend my time. Love this game.

    You got that right, I was hoping to get out ice fishing for bluegills and crappies and now it's a big slush hole, but I will be fishing on the big pond Lake Superior near Ashland and Bayfield.

    Scott have you ever noticed a beaver caught in a bank run that has sand on its back? That's from other beaver going over him after he was caught. It's tells you more beaver are using that run. Not all have sand on them but active runs do.

    I cought an otter almost the same way but with stick in 330. This otter almost escaped, was barely cought just above the tail. The trap was set directly in beaver bank run, about 3 feet underwater. No beaver again.

    What's the snow thrown into the holes about? I've never trapped... not even sure what to do with a pelt or the meat... but I dig the fishing vids. Thanks in advance for the response. 🤝🏾🤘🏾😎

      Ot helps conceal the trap a bit so there's not as much light showing on it.

    Hey brother how could the trap be sprung yesterday and have a beaver in it today?

    • @330Maniac

      A muskrat can go through and spring them. It happens quite often.

    I’m from Louisiana, so can you explain how the snow messes up the fishing if you were ice fishing already?

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  2 года назад

      It's makes traveling around the lakes near impossible. And snow put weight on the ice pushing water up on top, now many lakes have 8" of water on top of them and you have to walk through that water and sit in it while you fish

    Yo Scott, from your hard breathing if you smoke or vape,,,, STOP! Bud I absolutely love your work, please don't cut it short. You have way to much talent and knowledge to cheat anyone from learning. Wish you had more open water and leg holds. I do ok but I feel I'm missing something.

    • @thomasrobinson8960

      How you figure he smokes is beyond me. The man is over 40 years old. I don't know how old you are, but trudging through snow like that is work. Anybody doing what he does would be out of breath. If he smoked his recovery time would be much much longer than it takes him now.
      You ain't much of a detective. Don't go into that line of work cause you're not good at it. Just sayin'.

      I just suspend my trap from both springs, use the tie down cable and a piece of wire off the other spring. No fence centre in the run just off bottom. Works any depth even rock bottom. Great content watching everything the Maniac posts
