Why would two graybeards huff and puff around a trap line and chop thick ice to see if their sets were successful? Kenny’s smile and excitement when he says with a twinkle in his eyes, “I think we have a brown lumpy!” followed by the growl when it’s frozen in😁. The blend of hard work, challenging weather, tradition and camaraderie, with some success sprinkled in, are ingredients in many late season deer or duck hunts that keep me going year after year. Thanks for sharing the video.
I really enjoyed the beaver trapping videos! It is hard work, with all the walking, ice chipping, snowmobiling, and getting the beavers out, but to see the end results of the Hats are awesome. You are correct, i am working in my office today! 😀 Have a great day!
Helloooo Chris and Kenny! Well here I am in Newton Abbot (Devon) watching you guys, from an armchair. Not as cold as you, but really am quite envious. Such a wonderful setting. When we get snow here, it’s pretty, but mostly an inconvenience. Unlike in the US/Canada snow rarely settles long enough to enjoy what it has to offer. Subsequently, we don’t have snow mobiles, and indeed beaver. However, next best thing is watching you two, many thanks for sharing this. A few more beaver hats ah? Will we get to see how you skin, cure, and tan the skins? Then how the hats are made? In any event we’ll done, for some very interesting and enjoyable entertainment! Keep up the good work Carlson bros. Len (Devon 🇬🇧)
Hey Chris, I guess your Brother Ken , lets you ride in the sled behind.......😂 Nice Beaver you have there 🦫🦫🦫🦫 and a Big Beaver🦫lol ! Ken you need to take a Rest. I'm setting in a Nice warm Home watching you guys, Good Video Chris and Ken ! 🔥🔥Stay Warm !
yep!! sitting here on you-tube watching you and ken harvest some nice beaver and looking out the window at whiteout conditions!! 9-14 inches of snow today here in NH. great vid guys and looking to get outside in the shop to make room for the 737-24-re splitter coming monday! GNI
Wow what a workout! That chipping ice without hitting the chain looks to be a pain 😢 but the rewards are great 👍 the gain is worth the pain 👌 I think Kenny will live to be a hundred with the workouts he gets. Great video of trapping guys.
Good video. Lots of beavers and heavy breathing. A day in the winter woods is good medicine for "cabin fever". Here temp Sunday 70 degrees-Tuesday night -35 degrees windchill. My old bones don't like that.
Hey Chris and Ken, are you going to film the hat making process and when do the beaver hats go on sale? Awesome video thanks, I love the variety you bring to your viewers. Have a good one 👍🏼🔥🚜TC
Well today's February 24th Friday last night we had a ice storm come through what about 2 in of ice on everything. Well I've got a great big tree right next to my lot. One of the big limbs up top gave way. Landed right on my log splitter. That thing's got to be about 60 ft long. 24 in at the base. I've never had firewood deliver like that to the house. Guess I'm going to get my echo cs7310p and make some noise this morning soon as it gets light. The thing about it is it wasn't even my tree. My neighbor's tree.
Chris, the things you’re willing to do to film for your viewers is amazing! Thank you for this trapping excursion! Would be nice if you keep this up! Also what brand boots is Ken rockin?
Flooded roads that eventually wash out. Plugged backed up septic systems. Trees in peoples yards cut down. Land flooded by beaver that starts as a one acre pond and then grows to a small lake of 5-10-40 ares that kills all the trees that people want to live on treir property. The warmest clothing on the planet like fur hats, fur coats, fur mitts and cowboy Stetson hats. Castor for food additives and perfume. Meat that tastes just like beef for people to eat and for the best dog food on the planet. Tails for making leather. Money to pay our bills. It settled and financed the start of our country and it is a legal practice. Is that adequate?
@@InTheWoodyard don’t get me wrong everyone has to eat, just be good if there was a better way of killing them rather than snapping their necks and letting them drown slowly.
Thanks for taking us along Chris. I really enjoyed it..😊👍
Glad to hear it!
G’morning Chris. That’s a lot of pelt 😎. Cool to see, looks fun. GoodNightIrene
Good morning Corey!

Great job Chris and Ken Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks 👍 Frank!

Thanks for watching Len, we will keep going on so you can watch us live life!
What does rubbing the snow on the beaver do please ?
Got it.
Snow can dry wet fur.
Oh man now that's exciting. I can see the hat on my head already. 😃

All men should beaver trap at least once to complete the outdoor man card!

Good morning from Piqua Ohio
Morning!
Need a segment called story time with Kenny. I'll bet dollars to donuts you guys have some good stories.
We have hundreds or stories! And some are not for kids!
Eager beavers describe you two pretty well , have fun !
Thanks Bruce!
Wow what a workout! That chipping ice without hitting the chain looks to be a pain 😢 but the rewards are great 👍 the gain is worth the pain 👌 I think Kenny will live to be a hundred with the workouts he gets. Great video of trapping guys.
That is for sure, chopping ice is very hard work!
Yeah we sometimes chopped the chain
I bet the unedited version was hilarious great video guys
A lot of editing is needed to make the videos family friendly!
Very nice looking beavers! Always wondered what you guys do with the beaver carcasses once you skin them out? Stay safe my friend
Most of it is used to feed our dads dog!
Love the trapping videos, nice to see the hard work pay off
Thanks! More to come!
Good video. Lots of beavers and heavy breathing. A day in the winter woods is good medicine for "cabin fever". Here temp Sunday 70 degrees-Tuesday night -35 degrees windchill. My old bones don't like that.
Sounds great! Warm is good cold not so much!
Like watching y'all trap. Thats a lot of work. Have a Safe Day
Thanks David!
I'm watching this from az. no ice here.
We send you some! ha!
Good video
Thanks for the visit! Lots more to come!
I don’t know the story on those orange boots but if they’re good enough for Kenny then I probably need a pair. GNI 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
They are an older pair of Husqvarna chain saw pack boots with steel toes. He wears electric heaters inside them.
👍
Thanks!
Nice Beavers guys, not that easy to get out, go and get warm guys.
Yes it was fun!
Nice hats you fellas harvested there!! GNI
You know it!
Good stuff...
Glad you enjoyed it Eddy!
never been on a ski doo. might make the bucket list
It is a lot of fun!
Are beaver pelts worth very much? It's interesting watching. We have some here in central Ky., but they are mainly nuisance.
Nope, not much at all!
Excellent video as always. I was also wondering about Kenny’s boots?
Husqvarna chain saw pack boots with steel toes. H e wears electric heaters inside them.
Hey Chris and Ken, are you going to film the hat making process and when do the beaver hats go on sale? Awesome video thanks, I love the variety you bring to your viewers. Have a good one 👍🏼🔥🚜TC
Not sure yet. Some parts we will.
Chris do you use any other part of the Beaver, tail?
Yup, fur for hats, tail for leather, castors for perfume, carcasses for dog food.

Sounds like you have a job to do, get after it!
Good Video. Do you guys ever cook the tails, for a meal. Do you flesh & Hoop the hides
The tails are sold for leather, the hides for hats and hooped and the castors for perfume and the carcasses for dog food.
Earning that fur check today. At least the castor is worth something.
Yes, but that is about it!
After watching Kenny drive tractor, I'm not sure I'd get in sled behind a sled he's driving. Your a very brave or very foolish man chris!
Yes, I am both!
well i cought 2 more mice , 71 total maybe ear muffs john
That would be about all you could do with them, maybe a loin cloth! HA!
Chris, the things you’re willing to do to film for your viewers is amazing! Thank you for this trapping excursion! Would be nice if you keep this up! Also what brand boots is Ken rockin?
Thanks! The boots are Husqvarna chain saw boots.
@@InTheWoodyard nice! Thanks again
What are those orange boots Kenny is wearing ? Are they warm ?
Husqvarna chain saw boots. They are pack boots with a liner and he wears electric warmers inside.
Loved the beaver trapping segment, Chris!! Pretty cool stuff 👍👍 any good hare/rabbit hunting up there? GNI 🤙
Yes, some years there are a lot of snow shoe hares.
72 pounds was the best i ever caught 😁
That is a hog!!!!
Great job guys!!! Boy that sucks when they are frozen in!!! Should take a chainsaw with you!!! The hell with that chipping…. Get Alaska on em..
That would end bad! 1/2 a beaver!
Do you guy eat the Beaver meat?
Yes, it tastes like beef!
Why do you have to kill beavers?
Flooded roads that eventually wash out. Plugged backed up septic systems. Trees in peoples yards cut down. Land flooded by beaver that starts as a one acre pond and then grows to a small lake of 5-10-40 ares that kills all the trees that people want to live on treir property. Thanks for watching Padraig!
👍
Thanks!
