Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.

I am a poet Ms. Angelou all I hear is:
The voice of peace!
Phenomenal things happen in the ear of all of you so call believers!
Sometimes peace whispers in your ear to turn you into receivers!
For those with an ear to hear your spirit- you are not prophets!
You are internal spies for peace in our land, so no, you stop it!!!!
Hundreds of years have flown by and not one mountain has spoken!
Mountains stood still and watched nation after nation become broken!
This nation ( always the victim) seem to never want to have a choice!
Well peace keepers do, listen to the whispers in your own voice!
We were once so careful to dot our I(s) and capitalize our Q(s)!
These days in current times all of mankind seem baffled and confused!
The voice of peace is a whisper of integrity and truth like a mighty wind!
Please stop using our peace to allow fake people in the world to pretend!
The law lacks integrity, so the truth stands as a tree by calm waters!
Whispers of it is self- evident planted in our sons and daughters
Listen, listen, they are whispering help us! Daddy please?
This is the voice blowing in the wind of your past on wounded knees!
We rise like white lilies growing in a forgotten field of dreams!
Stop to listen to the whispers of babies for it is our land’s humility!
The voice of peace is in the tears of the (unborn) hidden in a womb!
The voice of peace is a heartbeat clinging to the hope it’s not too soon!

Thunder and Lightning!
Lightning is quick as a flash, and thunder travels at razor sharp speed!
This conquered hearts by faith in scholars with achievable dreams!
Old folklore believe this from back in an early praying church!
The thunder and lightning was a rain storm that orated our earth!
The earth quakes obey light yielding the winds to hurled out our screams!
The people are still afraid of it they know not what it means!
Lightning was the fingers of God, laying out his future plan!
The thunder would echo orders to become the majesty of man!
These are the lil things that no sermon could shame!
This is a power of life that the earth tells it’s universe to proclaim!
Oh it is not at all biblical because seed, time, and harvest is the soil!
Facts, it’s not 98 percent, it’s 100% more water than black crude oil!
So it’s nature’s own promise yielding life from the storms at sea!
The thunder being the sound of the air, and lightning generating heat!
Lightning would write a scorching tale of sequence aligned events!
Thunder would bellow out history, and mankind would repent!
One day a small dove, with an olive branch from a hallowed out tree!
Landed on earth with a message of wisdom held in its beak!
The sun came out, and the storm went away, so it did pronounce!
Peace earth as lightning never spoke twice, and thunder only spoke once!

God created me to be a poet:
Freedom from Famine!
When liberty was established to abolish slavery!
Did they realize that we would need provisions plus the gravy?
Dried out mash potatoes with no butter or water for powered milk!
Our farm produced cotton but a black woman’s labor made silk!
Yeah, we we’re emancipate, but from freedom to famine!
We need civil relief from all of your past, not just what doctors examine!
Closure and exposure, poverty against wealth, material or not!
Choose your best life, and keep ya life, it’s all any of us got!
Famine to freedom, and liberty to some white church insatiable!
We ask for closure not some leader crazy and unstable!
From Daddy’s reparations, to his ranch home, to our shelter, our food!
Is what were we made free from famine, and what war did we abuse?
Civil rights required a lot of planning, to deconstruct bad health!
From freedom to Selma, is all we learned, do not blame yourself!
Freedom to Famine after 500 years of keeping us poor is not by error!
This nation is lying to us all, causing anxiety, while only offering terror!
If I did not live pass five, then this world world seem correct!
I am old enough to know when people are lying about what we must expect!
I do not want an overseer, a mob boss or a man to run my shift!
The church is most accountable for daddy’s property, now kiss my grits!
