The warm musical fellowship that is the trademark of Emmett's home jams with stellar musicians always exudes love, friendship, and fun on the highest level...this is no exception!!!
This trio is an utter delight. They ooze the pure joy of making music together and the love and respect they share with their wonderful guests is edifying.
You're the person from the Consouls comment section! You're profile picture is too cool to miss. Funny thing to run into the same person on the internet twice. Really like your Consouls playlist btw would love to see more
I first came upon this song at the start of 2024. I heard the Chick Corea Trio version on NPR. I immediately fell in love with the song but this version tales it to a new height. Days later a friend passed away and it helped me grieve as i cleaned out her home. Music is its own healing and i couldnt think of a better prescription. Thank you for sharing this performance with the world.
Emett Cohen is definitely on my list of favorite pianists, and Sean Jones is on my list as one of my favorite trumpet players, he is such a great match for a rhythm section of this insane level.
Sean reminds me of a modern day Clark Terry. I love how Emmet's trio listen to each other and the soloist to make difficult changes in tempo dynamics look easy
Just loved this rendition. All played their hearts out. I've got to check out more of Sean Jones' playing. Very inspiring. Hats off to Emmet and Company for putting these great shows on Wow!
That’s so distasteful - respect to Woody - fuck it respect to Dolphy for bringing it out of the Waller Era but why would u fucking post dat shit on a page wheee these brothers are playing their heart out n gave it a new perspective 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ - I bet you couldn’t play the intro of the waltz - you may believe his solo was trash but don’t post it - say good job or nothing at all n then go listen to the version you like
Sean and Woody, great trumpet players, but what do you think about the master of Cool playing that Waltz in four: ruclips.net/video/RZXab2T8zXQ/видео.html 😀
Here are some of the songs that Luka and Paula are crazy about.🙂 It's the holidays when you work a little harder in the middle of the week. Let's play for the holidays, adults!👌🍸💃
Oh, thank You for the joyful piece, perfectly made by my Favorite Emmet Cohen 🎹 it is a wonderful relax after a hard, Long Day 😘😘😘have a wonderful evening,a Happy weekend 💋🍸🍸
I went to see them live one time and in the middle of a song the launched into the Ahmad Jamal arrangement for a completely different song, and it was wild! It caught me so off guard!
Great chops on Sean and LOVE how the rhythm section just can catch each other's patterns like that! That man bun thing has to go...but great piano solo!
Man, that bass drum and hit at/after 8:20, yoooooo
YES!
Sean Jones is my hero. Also I've never heard better acoustics/mic placement for a piano. And then it's a Steinway? Incredible. Donating!
listen to the other jitterbug waltz from emmets place with evan christopher, too!
its just amazing.
Sean Jones’ tone is glorious and his facility is as agile and light as I’ve ever heard in my life! What an awe inspiring group! So beautiful!
Crazy how much darker he sounds on this Bach, versus his Yamaha.
True 🐬

Jitterbug Waltz! Fats Waller would be proud. Nice rendition of this jazz standard tune.

This is what I would imagine an actual jitterbug waltz would feel like. This is such a great recording! Kyle Poole killed this!

Is there a more musical trumpet soloist in the world right now?
besides wynton himself, Id have to say no
More Vince Guaraldi too!
don’t forget about charlie porter and peter evans
@William Pipe They're both greats in their own right. I could listen to both forever. In a way it's sad that Sean didn't spend longer with the JLCO

@@4solepurposesonly Sean Jones plays things taken from that Woody Shaw solo, so I doubt that it's distateful.

hear so much Ahmad Jamal in that intro!
I went to see them live one time and in the middle of a song the launched into the Ahmad Jamal arrangement for a completely different song, and it was wild! It caught me so off guard!
What a wonderful tribute to Fats Waller!
Great chops on Sean and LOVE how the rhythm section just can catch each other's patterns like that!

That man bun thing is awesome. You’re tripping homie.
The bassist strikes me as a conceited jerk for some reason, but his playing is outstanding.
perfect tune for a bunch of high wire jokers
