As an ex-bedrock main, i can say that Java edition is superior in almost every way. If only Java was as good with Multiplayer as Bedrock. Almost makes me think Microsoft PREFERS Bedrock, but that would be silly. There's no way they'd prefer the worse version, right?
@@farleyharper1270 ye considering that java is a one time purchase and you get access to be able to change the game to your will completely for free. Unlike bedrock where Microsoft can keep draining money out of you for features that java had for free
Fair point, that Bedrock players don't need an 'extra' server to play together. But it is also not nice when your friend wants to play on that specific world you are playing on it: You have to turn on your console and startup Minecraft too.
Or you can just pick up the other controller and press 2 buttons to join the game split screen? I mean, if you want to play multiplayer on java, how do the other person suddenly not have to start their computer and their game too? I dont see the difference.
@@kvernesdotten i think krey's point is that servers run even when nobody is playing on them and so the "host" doesn't need to be online in order for other people to join
1:25 with the e4mc or Essential mods for fabric/forge you can open a java singleplayer world to the public with a single button press and with essential theres even a built in friendlist feature to invite friends (whereas e4mc requires you to share your ip address w/ them outside of the game)
1:38 the best part is that in minecraft bedrock you can setup your own server too, but it only works on mobile and pc (on xbox version there weren't a button to join when I tried to). The crossplatform nature of bedrock edition was good in my case because that way I could play with my poorer friend that only had a phone but we did not had to wait for one another to play. Also hosting this server was waaay cheaper than a java edition one because of the bedrock optimization so it costed us like $1/mo to play as far as I remember.
@@richardrogue you can join a server on xbox from pc because xbox is paywalled behind xbox live but on lan its not so if you use a tunnelling or VLAN like xlink kai

I did not see this one coming. I was expecting you to say performance, its the only thing ive found its superior at. Especially since the game has become laggier and heavier with every update.
@@richardrogue Thats more on the switch than anything though. If I run java and bedrock on the same pc, I can easily get triple the fps with double the render/simulation distance. The switch is underpowered for almost everything it can run, its just easy to use and very convenient
@@richardrogue What do you mean? Bedrock runs fine on a i7 7700K from 2017, but java destroys the same unit. Yeah, this is sad, that macos and Linux aren't officially supported platforms for Minecraft Bedrock. :(( As @Saturn-OS already mentioned, there is a way to play Bedrock on Linux or to run Bedrock via wine.

yes they do, cuz MONEY

on java we just do that with mods. like ESSENTIAL. its a mod with cosmetics, fps boost, friends and world sharing.

either that or maybe a title on the screen? it's certainly very interesting how it's been done here
