I have to say, i'm jealous of these Longswords skills thats nothing shorter than amazing.

It’s videos like this that make me realize how much more I have yet to learn
I love how these new switch skills are rewarding the primary uses of each weapon. Long sword rewards pulling off counters, hammers reward using charge attacks, etc. And I also love how while rewarding them, it presents a challenge at the same time. With long sword it's easy to travel a lot and rewards you for staying within a certain area which skilled players can do much better and the hammer buff is set on a timer meaning you have to be more aggressive and trust that you can stun or knock out the monster before their attack goes off.
But countering was lances thing :(
@@CelestialJudgement Lance Counters are different, more like shielding yourself through things and holding your ground until the perfect moment to go for your more mobile options. Sturdier than Long Sword's more movement and combo-focused options.

@@tenshi1160 You're definitely sturdier, you don't move. Thankfully Capcom is reducing the chip damage on Guard with the heavy shields from the look of things, but they might also just say "nah, screw shields" in endgame and let you get one shot while blocking with max Guard and Guard Up for the trouble
What's the reward for switch axe? Faster charge for ZSD?
After watching Peppo day 1 run on his channel, I remove quick sheath and try to practice ISS counter, against fast pace monster it is a real challenge , but I did manage to pull off some ISS counter, will try Malzeno again when I get used to it .
you still make good use of quick sheath for the ISS counter, as you reach the point you can perofrm the counter faster with quick sheath...
@@AkantorJojo by the time I pick LS , quick sheath 3 already available, I mainly play HH and IG until late game where I decide to pick LS, and I always practice LS with QS 3 since then, I also didn't play MHW so the feeling of LS without QS 3 is strange to me.

Im actually in shock that this run is 8 minutes but gunlance was able to do it in 7.
Pretty sure that's the same scenario as HH in the previous demo. You know how that ended up.

The reason a lot of the high tier performs really well is that they get better with the skills you acquire in your end game build. Weakness exploit and critical boost for example are really good in increasing your dps. Gunlance shells and hunting horn shockwaves are fixed damages that really perform well early game. But in end game, artillery and attack boost don't really compare to the other weapons' ability to increase its damage with wex and cb skills.
Since ls got huge nerf..but this demo doesnt have best build/skill deco for ls..gunlance do pure damge,fixed damage,ignoring armor of monster..in demo yeah,they are good..
Yeea i love it. As a Ls main since Tri i did not enjoy that Ls got reaall neerrfeed and very overpowerful in rise in comparison to other weapons. So im glad other weapons got good stuff and im exited to see what brings the weapon balancing in sunbreak. Since the demo weapon balancing is not the same as the full game.
@@JKSSN123 yeah gunlance never scaled well. I hope they clean up the damage formulas in mh 6
Just had the first encounter. As someone who started loving Monster Hunter with the awesome MHFU, I have to say that this is my favorite monster from now on. Just epic. Boss music, design and this insanely aggressive fighting style are an enrichment for the whole series and a reference example for creativity. Why not always such monsters?

As someone who's just getting into this game franchise and having played only the classic mh games, its awesome to see how the weapons improve and other gameplay stuff, im even doubting if this is the same longsword that i main in the mh games that i played 😅😆
It plays very diff to pre world. Iai spirit counters were the best in rise.
It's honestly like watching your child grow up to be something great.
Wishing you a great time with this generation of Monster Hunter! The added wirebugs make the flow of manouevering and attacking feel so nice. I might struggle without them when revisiting the classic titles😆
It is not like LS you knew anymore. Since Iceborne you are kinda forced into Yai spam, otherwise you will underperform
Iv struggled with longsword in this demo due to no quick sheathe hahaha gone to dual blades and sns and had a blast

Malzeno is a beast to hunt and I love the inspiration for him same with lunagaron. Gaismagorm is a draconic version of the blade 2 reapers lol
The muffled music coming straight from Malzeno like car speakers is hilarious to me.
Being able to sakura slash then follow through with spirit helm breaker is nut worthy whoever at capcom thought of the switch skill is a genius its such a simple change but opens up alot of combo variety
Man, it's no longer monster hunter at his point, it's basically devil may cry now... But that's fine, since the Lance is still KINDA viable

Feels like sub 7 might be doable on a run where everything goes right. Be interesting to see if sub 6 might even be possible on a God-run :D

This will be a sub-5 run in the base game where they dont use nerfed values like the demo does (its been datamined and longstorm MV values are really bad)

8 minutes with a few mistakes so Peppo will definitely be uploading a sub 7 before main release... Sub 6? If that's possible. Don't get me wrong absolutely amazing run and such a difficult fight. Capcom outdid themselves with this monster
Peppo said his fastest run will be on TDS. He uploaded a slower, more rusty run on his channel where he had said this. Perhaps this is as low as he can honestly get

For those who dont know in this demo..ISS dmge got nerf(160>80),but with hervest moon,slight buff(160>168)..sakura slash dmge got buff(150>190),wirebug cooldown about the same as helm breaker since helmbreak got nerf from 20sec to 27sec..roundslash combo,reckoning combo,foresight got slightly buff in increasing damage..
Is it bro? It’s felt something off. I dunno. But the damaged is pathetic. Sakura slash instead do more like you said. I hope it’s not same in the real game. Ughh. My friend main IG said theirs weapon got buff by those dust attack. It’s crazy 🥲
@@amatmulisha2978 yes..IG got insane buff,its op right now,arekks gaming channel just show how OP I.glaive now,that dust explosion do 500>1000 damage..if party with 4 hunter using IG..the damage go up to 2k..
@@amatmulisha2978 one of the reason for this nerf i guess to make used that buff harvest moon given..plus,the sacred sheath sword gonna used all 3 spirit gauge to unleash full damage like GS charged slash..using sakura slash to/iss/foresight to refill spirit gauge..ls gonna make some player change their playstyle..
@@skykillerxxx iG damage is a bug, it's not intentional and only occurs online with more than 1 IG

Going frame by frame to check, I'm noticing something extremely concerning. HM is "supposed" to add 4 hits (of 22 MV) to ISS but it frequently does not actually add the full amount. At 5:49 it only adds one hit, at 7:33 it only adds two hits, at 6:37 it only adds 3 hits. The one at 6:37 especially looks like hit number 2 is just missing based off the timings. Considering it happened on 3 ISS's in just 2 minutes, this could be a huge deal and more LS bugs to deal with.
I guess that's one more LS move to add to the list of Helmbreaker and ISS that's pretty buggy. In complete fairness though the one at 7:33 worked correctly, adding 2 41's and 2 30's, totaling the correct 4 additional hits. The subsequent 3 hits of ISS hit offscreen, as you can both hear the additional hits afterward and briefly see the red critical-hit flash on the top right corner of the screen at 7:34 just when the wirebug for the helmbreaker is consumed.
@@_Midir_ You are right although it's still not hitting the same zone. You can see both the 41's and 30's are crits so they must be hitting different zones. More evidence for the thing not attaching to the countered spot and instead hitting the air that was countered.
