Finally. Someone who just went to the ER and told them what happened instead of trying to hide it.
Well... Finally someone wasn't secretive and was conscious when arrived.
I would be telling them what happened no matter how embarrassing. I don’t wanna die
That's because it's not in your butt, "he'd poo it out, he thought"
tbf, "I accidentally swallowed an earbud" is a lot less embarrassing than trying to tell someone something like "I rubbed a whole tube of Bengay on my ballsack" 😂
@@DimkaTsv Well...Finally, someone doesn't do it on purpose, and wants to gets healed no matter what
most realistic part is where the doctors don’t even seem to believe him when he says he swallowed something really specific that he most definitely knows he swallowed
Why are they so skeptical? What reason did they have to not believe him?
As a doctor we should be trained to adhere to anyone's beliefs or concerns for their well-being. As soon as we dismiss new research, ideas, other peoples beliefs and concerns. We no longer hold the standard that makes up a good doctor. To always question with critical thinking, and never truly dismiss something with dogma
@@greg77389 overwork removes empathy and critical thinking. Add to that anti-rare bias ("Think horses not zebras") and you've got this. Now imagine you're any minority and actually have a zebra to talk about.
Doesn't surprise me at all

Patient: I swollowed an earbud.
Doctor: Look, I appreciate that you're good at reading things on the googles, but I have a degree in being better than you, so....
HB is like the first responsible patient ever. He actually went to the emergency room right away instead of trying to wash it down with week-old sushi, silicon packets and lava lamp juice. Keep up the good work on staying alive, HB.

The fact that this dude is getting praised for doing the bare minimum (going to the hospital) says a lot about the people who get talked about on this channel
I worked in the ER of a Toronto teaching hospital over 20 years. If people would tell the staff what they’d done, life would be easier for all of us! We’ve seen and/or heard it all. Haven’t been surprised yet. One must assume everyone is withholding info or giving us what they think we want to hear. Doesn’t work that way. Save time, money and your health and tell us what you’ve got stuck where it doesn’t belong! We don’t get embarrassed. Neither should you! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
People sometimes die from being ashamed and they don't tell what's going on. 📡👽🇺🇸 RUN!!!
The bare minimum was putting your finger on your gag reflex and puking up the earbud. Idk how ppl can be too weak to do that
@@tyrlant2189 the puke most likely would have gotten stuck or he could have electrocuted himself. Making yourself throw up isn’t a good idea unless you are in immediate danger. You would rather him shove his dirty shaking panicking fingers down his throat instead of getting a doctor to help him out? And it most likely wouldn’t have worked anyway because it was a blockage so the puke wouldn’t come up?
Many of these stories take place in the US. And in the US, even with insurance, we have a yearly deductible. So when your presented with the option of paying a several hundred to several thousand dollar deductible you might think twice about going to the ER about anything.

But when someone actually does that, the first reaction you get is doubt.

i think its less doubt and more precaution. if there was a slight chance that nothing happened, the medical staff wouldnt want to cut this guy open or stuff him full of meds.
these guys have also probably seen weirder and wackier situations than this one too.

This guy is a freaking genius he actually went to the hospital unlike other examples on this channel.
And he went right away instead of assuming it'll just come out or something. Though I'm still surprised he didn't at least try to vomit it out. 🤔
In places like Australia is it common to just go to the doctors or hospital when something it wrong but for people in the US who are uninsured they often don't go because they are worried about the cost.
It's the same guy who dry scooped 35000 Milligrams Caffeine. Let's not get too excited.

Not unreasonable - it's very reasonable to be happy hearing that someone got out of a scary medical situation safe, even if they're complete strangers. Empathy is cool and good. :)

While this video is surprising to most of us watching I’d bet many of the medical team were thinking “Here we go again 🤦♂️ “

there is a tragedy in this story. This man spent two years hoping to acquire a set of wireless earbuds. And only a pay bonus was able to finally accomplish this.
I learned just how dangerous swallowed batteries can be from a vet show when they had a case of a dog who destroyed a hearing aid and might have eaten the battery. Luckily he didn't eat the battery but the vets explained all the dangers.
I think HB needs one of those lanyard things meant to hold wireless earbuds the way the wired ones are held together. 😬

Some people might think that the guy panicked and it was not that much dangerous, but I think by getting immediate help the guy spared himself some really serious troubles. I think the worse happens when you swallow something, don't notice any alarming symptoms and just forget about it. Maybe the earbud would just come out the other end, or maybe it would stay there long enough to dissolve and cause nasty problems. I can think about one more - let's say it got into his stomach, then caused an irritation and vomiting. It could get stuck again while "going up". Ew.

SMH. The dude is swallowing earbuds, injecting himself with horse antibiotics, overdosing on caffeine, drinking drain cleaner... He should be more careful!
But does he put foreign objects in his urethra?
I actually had a very similar case to this a number of years ago! I (Paramedic) attended an incarcerated patient at one of the prisons in our areas that holds young offenders, the call was about severe stomach pains and they were vomiting an enormous quantity of blood. It turned out that the patient had swallowed a phone about 96 hours beforehand, I think it was something like a Samsung X830 or similar, skinny with two rows of buttons and the screen spins around to reveal them, this was during the smartphone era however they’d opted for this model in particular, I assume to get it through in one bite.
On endoscopy it was found hadn’t gone far into their alimentary system as they were caught in the act of swallowing it in the visitor centre, the phone was retrieved however the battery had become detached from the phone and travelled beyond their duodenum requiring emergency surgery, but the pt attempted to flee from the hospital following the endoscopy procedure.
I met the PT after they’d developed severe, painful, and persistent haematemesis a few days later. They’d been moved to a prison in my area but because of this move no referral for emergency gastrointestinal surgery had taken place or been transferred, they’d barely even discussed any of this with medical professionals before they’d already been moved into the area, and they weren’t allowed to remain in the hospital awaiting surgery because of the attempted escape; all the while the battery is getting closer to shorting or leaking and….. doing exactly what it did do….
At this point, HM’s Prison Service were more interested in moving them elsewhere in the country than making sure they get the correct medical help for an increasingly emergent situation.
I get that this PT brought the situation on themselves, but HM Prison Service have some answering to do too…
I wouldn’t say a minor who just tried to smuggle a phone and reasonably tried to escape imprisonment “brought it on themselves.”
"On themselves"?? Conjoined twins were they?
He used the wrong pocket

Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾
Unfortunately it is likely to happen to more people😓
Prayers out for them🕊️
Really appreciate the "Death From Above 1979" selection as what he was listening to--not sure if that was intentional but I loled.
I clicked on this expecting to find out what happened to his stomach, but 10 seconds in, it turns out this is what happened to his esophagus. I want my money back!
I love how you assured us that the earbuds still worked first before letting us know he made a full recovery 😂
And this, folks, is why you take your behind to the hospital! Whew!
And that battery identifier is cool, had no idea what all those numbers were for outside of the size differences. I really love learning something new every day! You picked the battery that's in my garage door opener and my doggo's collar.
I'm sure that info just changed your life
Glad to hear that HB and his headphone made a full recovery.
I have nightmares about swallowing moderately sized objects sometimes
Sausages?
When I was in my 20s (in my 40s now), I had my tongue pierced and one of the metal balls came loose and I swallowed it. I wasn’t freaked out at the time because I’d had many friends who had done the same thing. As I got older, I started getting concerned, thinking that swallowing metal balls with sharp screws attached could be hazardous to my health! I took the tongue ring out after that!

I’m sorry but in order for your nightmares to stop, you must swallow a moderately sized object in order to face your fears (in your dreams****). You won’t dream of it again, that’s unless you become addicted.
