The BIG BROWNS were crushing the Hopper-Dropper Rig - 3 days of Insane Fly Fishing!

  • In this video, I'm throwing big hopper-dropper rigs with my buddy Jarrod. The bite was insane, we couldn't keep the big browns, off the dropper. Throw in a few hopper eats and you'll see why the next 3 days of fly fishing on the White River in Arkansas were epic! We caught browns, cuttbows, rainbows and a tiger trout!
Contact Jarrod with FliCo thru the links below or call Gaston's Resort.

I've grown addicted to your videos Drew. The White River is special. I've never been, but it reminds me of the upper Missouri in Montana. Pods of big fish, sipping tiny midges in a seam... like pigs at a trough. It took a double-haul cast to reach 'em, but if you hit your mark, they'd be happy to ablige.
The only problem with this video, is that you caught so many big browns, it got boring afer a while (kidding)!
I live on the Boise River... I have no excuses, so I'm gearing up now! Thanks Drew!

Another great video, Drew. I've heard a lot of good stuff about the trout fishing on the White. I spent a lot of time with friends in Fordyce and in the flooded timber of Bayou Meto but it's always been during duck season. Never been out there during the summer but I need to make a trip out to chase some of those big browns.

From the last AGFC study I read the average brown in the white is just under 16"s...so I'd say all these were above average fish. I also read somewhere that only like 4% of browns in the white were above 24"s. So I'm good with saying anything in the 17 to 23" class is big and above 24 is trophy size or lifetime class but that's just my opinion and we all have a different view on it which is cool!
