Anybody still waiting for his solo album? I'm not trying to sound greedy, but he said back in the beginning of 2015 that it would be released sometime that year. Now its been over year and he still hasn't released. My guess is that he either forgot because of the new AA album getting in the way or he that hasn't had time to release and is planning to release later this year. I hope so that he does.

Don't get me wrong, Ben has improved a lot, obviously he's been taking professional lessons. But you're dumb if you think this is how his voice sounds raw. There is so much editing done to his voice. That being said he did a solid job.

Even live it was pretty good. the second album was good too, different but good! When he'd perform live he was alright. I saw them twice during the Reckless album and he just yelled and sang because the song calls for him too sing. So it wasn't a very good performance. Now they're trying to do this rock n roll thing. The new album is not my forte not into it. However, Danny was a good screamer. Ben is playing and has to do his second singing with no breath that's why its not so great live other wise with this style and setting I think it'll be beautiful! But Danny has sort of lost it. I'm sorry to admit it.

The fact that he tore his vocal cord way back and didnt rest up like he should, and the outcome of the last album, plus his other tow side projects is almost enoygh for anyone to assume that if he were to leave, that Ben would need to step up.

There's an easier way to deal with singing a song that's too low for your voice. Either change key up a semitone or two, or train your voice so you can hit the lower notes. Seriously, autotune is just lazy.

How is this song too low for his voice? I'm not sure you know how voices work amongst genders. Female registers are usually if not always higher than males becuase of the structure of their throat. Males are lower. A female sings this song and if you've actually heard the original you would know that some of the notes she's hitting are high (using her head voice/ falsetto). If Ben's range was higher than hers he could easily hit these notes seeing as Florence doesn't even sing that low when she's going into her lower register. Ben himself doesn't actually have a huge range himself (pretty standard range for males) so no you're wrong. He's using autotune because he can't actually hit the notes he's trying to hit that well. Being the singer in a band doesn't mean youre actually good at (i.e. see every bad live vocalist that has been in this scene). That being said I liked the cover kept it true to the original (which is a beautiful song) and added some balls with his rough notes.

However, there are plenty that do. I mean I love Periphery but their first album was totally raped with autotune and pitch correction. If you could name me a few modern day bands that don't use autotune I'd like to take a listen though!

Regardless there are plenty of modern metal band (and rock bands) who don't use autotune or whose autotune use is not discernible - like Symphony X, Kamelot, Seventh Wonder, TesseracT (I read somewhere that Altered State doesn't have autotune, in which case it's a pretty superb example of soaring modern clean vocals), Opeth (even though the Opeth clean style of vocals is pretty different from the other artists mentioned, Heritage has a very old-school production that definitely doesn't have modern tricks like autotune), Lost Horizon (the vocal performance on the song "Highlander" is one of the craziest things I've ever heard)... long story short, there are plenty of bands who don't use autotune or, if they do, its use is so negligible that it would be just fine without it. The same cannot be said of most of AA's clean performances.
