  • This module came out of nowhere, at least to me since I haven't had time to sleep let alone follow Modular trends on the interwebs... but it popped up in my Home Feed the other day, and after watching the 4 videos Expert Sleepers put out on the new disting NT, I couldn't get to Perfect Circuit fast enough to buy one while they were still "In Stock"! You know how that goes.
Here is my first 10 minutes from FedEx-truck-to-rack without anything other than the ES videos to guide me, so don't expect much. I will get deeper into this module (the manual is 182 pages!!!) when it's time to talk about it on My Modular Journey. Until then, here's a sneak peek!

Disting NT has PLAITS (macro oscillator 2) so you can patch to the Kirbinator in the box! Even a simple patch from multisample to the Kirbinator sounds awesome. os is good about bug fixes so it will get much better soon.

Eurorack modules are increasingly becoming full-fledged synthsizers. I recently saw a tutorial about the 4ms MetaModule which is a complete rack in one module...

This is a great time to be a synthesist and/or sound designer! Tools are advancing so quickly, very exciting!

Sorry you had a crash. First thing you'll want to do is apply the day-one firmware patch - the as-shipped firmware v1.0.0 is already quite old and much was improved since then.

I just don’t get it sorry. It’s amazing but doesn’t feel creatively eurorack. I love my ES9 and little Mikey and even my Disting mk4, but this feels too much like a pc to me. For me I need to plug stuff in and twist knobs until good stuff happens and not program it.

For me, disting NT isn't so much about making a synth out of it, which I guess it's totally capable of being... but stacking effects and having multiple CV/modulation points to affect those effects in my random modular experiments. Love disting mk4, so I'm mostly looking at this as multiple mk4's in a series, and also being able to expand into sample playback all at once. That's my excitement for it.

      @@VisionsMusicGroup here here 👍
and you can still make patches that need wires and twisty knobs if you want
