This was 1 of the 1st records I ever bought. I was 13 years old in 1973.. never heard anything quite like this before other then Santana evil ways, songs like Soul Makossa, Grazing in grass.. but I heard something similar with these songs.. Latin rhythms! I knew what Latin rhythms and jazz was.. from Santana and Carole King I will discover Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie, Machito, Fania All Stars etc
La versatilidad de una artista, esa vitalidad, esos arreglos musicales. Me da curiosidad porque se decidió a cantar en español. Qué bueno que otros artistas también lo hayan hecho.
This song came off a very unique style album by Carole King. It's like the whole album was just 1 drawn out song with different variations. Very good album though. Love all her music.
Obviamente, la versión de estudio, es mucho mejor..., está canción es épica, musicalmente, pero en sú versión de estudio... Té transporta... a quizás una de las mejores décadas de la música , los 70's, donde tenías que demostrar tú talento, sin tecnología...
I always thought 1973 was an important year for the progression of Carole King's music as she began experimenting with different types of music. She even appeared on my all-time favorite Cheech & Chong recording called "Basketball Jones", which was intended to be a novelty tune. But it turned out to have a glorious "Hey Jude" style chorus to end the song with Carole's piano/vocals shining through. I don't there would have been "Jazzman" without "Corazón" leading the way.
@@puldspulds5798 - Yes, and both acts shared the Ode label as well. The lyrics are not what I was referring to. It was Carole moving outside of the comfort zone and experimenting with various types of musical styles. She followed Paul Simon's lead in that regard.
@@puldspulds5798 - But Paul Simon was given the license to expand in the early 70s and was successful doing so. That helped Carole persuade them to allow her that same freedom and to no longer be boxed in with the Tapestry formula. And thankfully the public was rewarded with tunes like "Carazon" and "Jazzman".
@@puldspulds5798 - You provided the section from her autobiography stating "she felt boxed in to deliver the same type of sound ...From the tapestry sound. The wrap around joy lp was that formula with Lou Adler and Many of the same cats ". So you first set the tone for Carole feeling boxed in. Then you state she had no conformity and did what she wanted with no regard to anyone or anything else. You can't pick and choose a story line to satisfy the goal of being argumentative to someone else's post. If Carole wants to jump into this conversation to set the record straight, she is more than welcome. Otherwise you can have your view and I can have mine. Just be consistent.
@@puldspulds5798 - Whether her hesitation came from the label or reaction from her fans, or both, it doesn't change the premise. Confidence from the success of Paul Simon may have helped the decision. And the success of "Corazon" opened up the flood gates. Suddenly the "Tapestry" formula was no longer a restriction and opened up the possibilities moving forward. Including "Jazzman". Now, to say that line of thinking is "naive at best" is ignorant at best. Who do you think you are to make such a statement towards the viewpoint of others? I know the 'subtle hostility" type of personality you have. The arrogance drips from each and every one of your comments. I have chewed and spit out more worthy opponents than yourself in the past. You are RUclips garbage. You viewpoint is no more informative or valid than anyone else. Get over yourself.

In 73… Santana, Malo, Azteca, and El Chicano introduced Latin Rock. Carole King was progressive enough to add to this genre.
