Another note, the pressure adjustment for the opv dumps the water back to the water tank. Which is really good if you're using prepared coffee water. Also this machine has a brass boiler vs the quick-mill pop which has a thermocoil. I think this one is better for temp stability and longevity while sacrificing some heat up speed which is fine for a home setting

Thanks for the video! Can you say something about the time for it to actually be at the 93 degrees and about the temperature stability throughout the shot?

I’ve had this machine from these guys for a few weeks now. It gets up to 93 in 3 mins, but it’s better to wait longer as the group head and portafilter will still be cool. I leave mine in Eco mode which leaves it around 60C while appearing to be off. From there, it’s under 30s to get up to 93 and the group head and portafilter remain warm. I may change this up in the summer but while it’s cold out any lost heat is just helping heat the house.

@@trifrance Thanks! Id be really curious to see a scace measure when it comes to temperature stability after those 3-5 minutes, maybe with a short flush, but it seems like reviews are just starting for this one. Could be a profitec go killer if its actually decent.

@trifrance when you have eco mode turned on, does your machine also turn itself back on when you switch it off?

These videos are the best. I love this machine. How would I know when to stop running water to avoid running the boiler dry? What can happen if I do that by accident?

I pre-ordered one of these from iDrinkCoffee on Black Friday and got it in December. It's a great machine, we really love it. I asked them the same question and got the following reply:
"As far as ensuring the boiler is full goes - if water it coming out of the group, the boiler is full! And unless you have drained the boiler you don't have to worry about refilling it as the boiler will constantly fill itself while running the group."
I guess you could drain the boiler if you ran out of water in the tank but continued to run water through the group. But otherwise, as long as there's water in the tank, according to them it'll manage the boiler on its own.

The tank is clear plastic and visible on the right side of the machine so it’s quick to take a look when you turn it on or wake it up.

Flow control and PID for around 1.2k CAD and a reputable brand is pretty epic. Chrome color on top of that.. love it.
I feel like this is a direct competitor to the Profitec Go and definitely makes my short list of potential upgrades from my Gaggia Classic pro.
I was looking into the Majister Stella e61, the Profitec Go, the Lucca Solo e61 (also made by Quick Mill) and Turin Gallatin e61 and now this Quick mill Pop-up.. quite interesting.
The lack of an e61 group head does bother me a little bit although I'm still unsure how necessary it really is and the unmatching portafilter is somewhat annoying indeed.

I believe Pop-up has e61. Pop does not.

As someone that used exclusive manual lever machines for the past 5 years to make espresso, this feature is the selling point I'm looking for. Countless times, I get the grind size off by a small margin and since manual levers are more forgiving and allows a lower pressure according the lever feed back and shot mirror. This would save alot of drinks from going sour. And if you don't want more variables, set at 9 bars and play with the other variables.
