Great video! I did get my hopes up slightly, though. $1,895 isn’t really my definition of budget. I get that the machine offers a lot at that price, and I think it’s a fair price, but you can get a Bezzera Unica with flow control for $1,600. Not sure if Bezzera is widely available in Australia, though.
thanks for the info on this! Quick mill really haven't promoted this online at all in any meaningful youtubes or insta. i ended getting a pegaso with inbuilt grinder which is awesome. great work, i love your product videos.
I looked very closely at this machine some 2-3 months ago and have the DF54. Nobody was able to help me, even when they had the machine advertised on their online store & I called or sent emails Two stores that had it advertised actually said they'd not seen it, it's just up on their web page to order. That's not helpful. So, I went down another path at a similar price point. I'm happy with my decision, but now seeing an actual review/demo I'd likely have been happy with the pop up. The other issue that held me back was there's a similar machine quick mill pop that's ~$100 less. I preferred this purely based on aesthetics (position of the switches), but naturally wanted to know the difference. Again, nobody was able to help. It needs to be said that I explored all avenues that had this or one of the two machines advertised. That's quite a few stores! Cheers!
yes, the pop was released first, its a heat exchanger model for Europe, and some in Australia, many machines are released overseas first then 3 months later in Oz, it's hard to keep up with the info until they arrive in our hands. i saw this in Host Milan last year so approx 12 months to make to OZ. cheers luke
@@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters I was looking out here... I'm not sure now if I called you, given I called everybody that had it advertised. If you did, then I'd have called and would have been given literally no info. Some stores don't even have a number to call (most unusual for a business) & it's email back and forward. Not encountered this in any other industry. And it seems, other than fishing I get sucked into most. Guitars, fountain pens, coffee etc etc Anyway, not my place to tell a business how they should operate, but as a consumer I found those businesses without any form of number most annoying. I'll even call out one that requires a booking to make a call. Craziness & I did not bother, but they didn't sell this quick mill machine anyway. I enjoyed this demo/review as per my initial comments. I'm merely lamenting the industry here generally in regards to this particular product, not any other issue. Hopefully this demo alone will assist other potential buyers. As for me I went down a totally different route in the end. Hx e61 machine... I always fancied a lever rather than switch/button, but as per initial comments above I'd likely have been happy with this machine also, keeping in mind I mostly make just 1 long black before work and more on the weekend. Cheers.
Similar machine, but i think its only 12 months warranty vs the quick mill 24 months, i think its a branding and looks difference for the choice to make. 👍
Very under the radar machine, is it possibly gone out in limited numbers for the first customers to beta test with QM expecting lots of returns to highlight some inherent flaw that will be fixed in the V2?
@@stephan3077 I know for a fact that heat up time is going to be quite a bit shorter. I think the biggest disadvantage is that the steam power is not going to be as strong as what you saw in this video. I think that if multiple people drink espresso in your house, a boiler could be nice, you could have it in eco mode and it should be very hot on demand. I live alone and I drink 1-2 pure espressos early in the morning, after that, the machine is going to be turned off until perhaps late in the afternoon for a decaf. I believe in this case, a thermoblock makes more, especially because I don't make milk drinks often.
@@DeferFuncClosepop has thermoblock for coffe and steam. Pop up has boiler for coffe and thermoblock for steam. I have pop up for 2 days, bojler has better temperature stability, thermoblock has better heating time.
@@marcinjedrzejek7649 thanks for that! I didn't realize that the pop up uses a thermoblock for steam. Being a fan of light roasts, I think the pop up would be the best machine for me seeing that I need temperature stability.
Finally, a decent review for the Pop-up. Thanks, this has nearly convinced me to buy one. Any chance you can do a review on the sister machine the Quick Mill Pop which is similar but has a thermoblock.
@ well you can change the pressure externally with flathead, you could make a lever that attaches to the screw and have variable pressure brewing as well ;) regardless, profitec go screams more value for the price, cuz at this price point you might as well get into dual boilers.

are you talking $1600 AUD? or US?
Another great video it just shows there are machines for all budgets .
Yes there is, great to see innovation in lower price points of the prosumer category

Thank you, the Pegaso will be bullet proof! its a new model, i think we are the 1st to play with it. Cheers Luke
This looks like a great little machine, and a single dosing grinder great little setup
yes, a great package for anyone wanting to play with multiple coffees and have the ability to really dial in a specality coffee.

While the Pop Up is a boiler machine, the Pop uses a thermoblock. That might be the only difference.
yeah i even asked quick mill on their instagram for more info but they just said essentially "watch this space". still waiting 😂

im gonna copy that flow control knob style into my Gaggia :))
I actually giggled to myself when he said “under $2000”
Pre release info hey! i think its landed at $2300 in OZ, Sorry all. i can only work with the info i have!
@@squishyflac yah this is normal price in AU i think, i always hear espresso machines are really expensive there. Btw 2000 in AUD right
Hey mate
How do you think the Profitec Go will stack up against the Pop Up apart from the flow control?
Similar machine, but i think its only 12 months warranty vs the quick mill 24 months, i think its a branding and looks difference for the choice to make. 👍
GO has smaller boiler, no thermoblock for steam, no preinfusion, no flow control, bigger water tank. I like in POP UP side water tank aswell

its new, not under the radar, just not on it yet. Glad to have played with it 1st. Cheers Luke
The value for money of this machine is crazy. Why would you choose this one over the pop that uses a thermoblock?
What's the heat up time compared to the Pop?
Some people love the thermo block, it’s still big in some markets

would love to see that as well
Sorry, we won't get access to the pop as we don't use the thermoblock much hee is OZ. Cheers Luke
Dammmm, Just brought the quickmil evo for similar money
😪
looks like a turin legato V2 with better cosmetics
Hmmm. Not sure of that model, I know these are all made in the quickmill factory
profitec go says hi
