    Thanks for the nice review! How did you achieve slow motion at 6 -6:10 min , the cars are moving in buttery smooth motion .?

    • @JCKRGB
      @JCKRGB  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! No slow motion here! :) To get smoother footage when shooting video, you want to follow something called the 180º Shutter Rule - which means setting your Shutter Speed to double your Frame Rate. I've made a video all about this (+ why ND Filters are useful) if you'd like to learn more! ✌🏻 See it here: ruclips.net/video/ZGr44pDgWuc/видео.html
      (Just to add, in this Anamorphic video I didn't use any ND Filters over the Lens. Which is why some of the daylight shots may look a bit more choppy. In lower light, you can follow the 180º Shutter Rule without needing an ND. But in normal daylight conditions, it's difficult to do without over exposing your footage, hence why using an ND helps!)

    • @JCKRGB
      @JCKRGB  2 года назад

      I guess it depends on the style of the Vlog! The Wide lens can be really useful for capturing wider shots and showing more the the screens. With the Tele you can get closer to the subject from afar. Or, if you want a more stylised and unique look, you can go with one of the Anamorphics! ✌🏻

  • @fabiocardascia2796

    Hi! I believe there are some very recent samsung smart phones which simulate or are equipped with an effect similar to an anamorphic lens. In other words they possess a feature which simulate a wide angle. If that`s the case why bother to buy anamorphic lens? Also, everybody seem to prefer using iphones to smart phones for filming. Is there a reason for this choice? Thanks.

    • @JCKRGB
      @JCKRGB  2 года назад +2

      Hey Fabio. I’ve not seen any Samsung phones with built-in anamorphics. Some phones let you shoot in different aspect ratios which result in the black borders top and bottom, but anamorphic lenses do more. The stretched image gives a different look to the bokeh, straight lines are given some distortion and you get the lens flares which look pretty cool! Which you don’t get from just a wide angle camera + a cropped aspect ratio.
      iPhones have a really good rep when it comes to video. The picture quality is great compared to much of the competition, and they can shoot in Dolby Vision HDR which as far as I’m aware is still unique to iPhones at the moment. Plus they have great third party camera app support!
      Thanks for commenting and watching! ✌🏻

    • @fabiocardascia2796

      I have just learned that iphones are only compatible with Apple mac when it comes to do the editing on computer. This implies an extra cost. If that`s the case filming with an Iphone becomes as expensive as buying a camcorder. What advantages there are filming with an iphone then? Thanking you in advance.

    • @JCKRGB
      @JCKRGB  2 года назад +1

      You don’t need a Mac to edit video shot on an iPhone, you can use a PC. If you’re shooting in Dolby Vision on iPhone, you’ll need a HDR compatible display to accurately see the footage. But you can edit it on Final Cut on Mac or Premiere on PC for example ✌🏻

    great video! I already have filmic pro which I use with my iPhone 13 pro max. it has the option of shooting in 2:39:1 with the ultrawide lens... other than missing out on the gold lens flares, can you see any downside to using that instead of this?

    • @JCKRGB
      @JCKRGB  2 года назад +1

      With an Anamorphic Lens you can get some really cool looking (I think 😄) barrel distortion when looking at straight lines (see 5:16) which is very unique to those lenses and looks different to the distortion you might get with an ultra wide.
      You also get a squashed look to the bokeh background blur (you can see it a little at 5:26 and 6:33 - it’s more visible if there’s lots of out-of-focus lights in the background)
      Using the Ultra Wide (and cropping to 2.39:1) can sometimes distort things like faces when getting close as that camera has a very wide field of view anyway.
      Plus you get the light flares with an anamorphic as you mention!
      There’s no right or wrong of course, shoot however you want to! It’s all personal preference. I prefer the look of the Anamorphic Lens over using the Ultra Wide and cropping down. I just think it looks more cinematic. But for some, they might find it too much with all the flares and everything. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching! :) ✌🏻

    I have noticed that the iphone 13 has a good stabilizer and was wandering whether it is still worth to buy a gimbal. Question 2: I would like to connect a monitor to the iphone so that I can follow what the cameraman does. Should not be difficult I imagine...? Question 3: I was thinking to connect my Sennheiser microphone to the Iphone by using a bluetooth + transmitter wireless connection. Is that correct? Many thanks

    • @BaritoneMike
      @BaritoneMike 2 года назад +1

      With an anamorphic you need the sensor to be static. iPhone 13 sensor shift optical image stabilization, if you don't turn it off in Filmic Pro, might result in weird, wobbly footage with an anamorphic lens attached. That's where gimbal is key.
