I bought it with filters, but the mounting system is not good. Threaded will be good, bayonet is unstable and loose fit. your filters or mount is not universal, why many avoid buying it, because videographers use all kinds of accessories. but the new cage for iPhone and Galaxy s24 ultra is good, but expensive than Neweer and small rig(I have both for Samsung s24 ultra)
@@bazlur-Vancouver Thank you for your suggestion on the improvements you'd like to see in our lenses. We will forward your feedback to our team. Regarding your comment on the price of the rig, we believe it is not fair to compare it with the brand you mentioned, as none of them offer the features that our rig does. Our rig has unique features such as a 100% tool-free design, a 360-degree rotating handle, and the ability to function as a tripod and monopod. When you consider all these features together, the brand you mentioned would be much more expensive.
As a loooooooong time follower, I can say you've really grown over the years. You just keep pushing it and I like that! Can't imagine where you're at in a few years :) Keep being an inspiration to me Cam. All the best from Denmark
Im a newbie with video and photography in terms of putting words to what I want to see. Although Ive been using a camera since the 80s, it goes back to the basics, avoid harsh light, shoot during golden hour, or overcast days.
At 2:20, there, some pretty significant moire banding on the building on the left. Was that caused by the iPhone, the anamorphic lens, or something else?
I will shilling about unreleased anamorphics, iPhones, documentaries, filmmaking techniques, lighting techniques, editing techniques, how to make LUTs, and even how I pack and travel.. shill shill shill. My whole life is shill. The air I breathe is shill!!! 😂
On the whole OIS, I found that these anamorphic lenses fare better with that disabled - mostly because the IS wobble is much more prominent than if that anamorphic lens was not on it.
Whenever I shoot with this lens I get a lot of aggressive indirect gold flaring in the left corner of my image no matter the intensity of light. How did you manage to keep that at bay or get the effect so subtle and under control? I get the regular sharp flares but also these giant gold blotches that make my image unusable
This video is awesome, I installed the Black Magic App recently and is amazing how you can use your iPhone camera. Thanks! Sometimes i don't truly understand some of your concepts but happy to keep learning.
Thank you for watching! Would love to talk more about the concepts you’re not understanding? I’m 100% open to talk more indepth and hopefully I’ll be able to explain them better in future videos!!
I’ve been looking at cameras to shoot videos with as on the fence about continuing to use my trusty 12 pro max. This seals the deal, I’ll just get some gear to spec my phone.
Well the biggest thing for me again is apple log. Without that I wouldn’t be now using the iPhone as a filmmaking tool. But if you don’t care ain’t that then 1000% go ham with the your 12. Gear should never hold you back from creating what you need to create!
When i started first trying apple log i got excited for the iPhone 16 already because the second gen of everything is always a great jump! Plus i'm sure apple are taking note of how people are using the log so i'm hoping for a standard app 'pro' upgrade and some good video features later this year 🤞
I’m personally hoping we get more dynamic range! Or more HDR implementations into the log! Its there but I would kind of they turned it up just a tad bit haha
awesome video! I have a similar setup, love that BM App has that desqueeze support, and I also loaded like 45 different lut's I can use either to burn in, or preview. Gotta say, I am with Armando on this one, prefer to just nail exposure, and i can adjust in post. However, I think you want to keep the ISO at 1250, so I would adjust exposure using VND. I love that I can rig it up as much as I need (I have one setup with external battery, monitor, wireless mic and external SSD), or just use it straight out of pocket to capture something on the go. I've also used it with a car mount to get some cool shots. The quality is really good, and its just so versatile.
I personally like exposing for the highlight peaking and then bringing it down right below that. Usually gives you the best dynamic range to play with in post. Majority of engineers agree with that unless their gray point was designed differently than most. But yeah the BM is crazy powerful. I might get that kondorbkue sd card connected for the iPhone now too
@@cammackey Oh, one other really cool features is you can set up is the "Focus Mode", so I have it so whenever the BM Camera App is open, it automatically takes me into the "Shooting Focus", which can block all notifications and calls, etc. Then its just the action button to open BM Camera, and the focus mode changes automatically. It's a bit useful to avoid getting interrupted, but I also just find that it makes me switch mentally, it's like "I'm in Shooting Mode now", and you can get to that mode in 1 second, so I can usually catch the thing going on. I've been working on a case that can kind of support and contain my usb-c hub and battery, but its just so damn flexible, i can just throw a usb-c thumb drive on it. I am curious about the Khronos system, right now I've stuck to only using gear that can be used on other stuff, so its not limited to just iphone use, but it does look kinda cool.
@@MaximoJoshua oh damn that sounds smart, I might have to try that. A lot of the times tho if I’m on a job I gotta keep my phone on hand for producers and stuff.. so that might get me in trouble haha
@@cammackey yeah, you can put specific apps or specific people who can bypass the filter, so you can kind of tailor it, but it is nice to avoid like some notification that you don't care about. I personally have it set to allow time sensitive notifications, and uber eats, as well as my family and gf can bypass. Also, if i leave the camera app, it automatically takes me out of "shooting mode". So, it's not really something I have to think about, its like, while in the app, i can focus on shooting. It's not bad, try it out, and see if it works for you. I figured I'd mention it, because I saw you also use the action button for BMC. I'm gonna try out your exposure method, I think it is gonna really come down to your scene, and what you want to prioritize, shadow detail or highlights, I am definitely not the guy who tries to save highlights at all costs.
After trying the Apple Vision Pro, I'm going to use my iPhone 15 Pro Max to record photos in panoramic and videos in spatial video so I can relive those moments in 3D Apple Vision Pro.
I really wish Freewell had a cage instead of just the case. By the way, this is the only video I’ve seen so far covering the anamorphic lenses where the presenter is suggesting to use image stabilization. All the other tutorials I’ve seen so you need to turn it off because using it with the anamorphic lens makes your footage wonky.
I mean at this point no camera matters you make great video with every camera. What would be interesting is more of those thought video where you dissect how you create
They’re in the works! I’m dying to release more of those, just trying to generate more time. Currently I’ll have more time in late July to start doing more stuff like that!
Bro doing free iPhone CINEMATIC Promo 😂, your video is awesome but why would someone buy iPhone over a proper camera that too in less price as the iPhones above $1000 😅
Hahaha well I can’t help you there brother. That sounds fun tho to try and challenge yourself with what you have. If you have something to get out and say, don’t let the gear hold you back.
@cammackey I’m just saying - clicking on the vid cause of the title you’d expect to see tons of iPhone footage instead I saw your dslr most of the time but do you

How do I find your Apple log LUTs?
can you thread another brand VND on the abamorphic lense? like a 52mm

Where can I get the LUTS file?
what grip is that? can share?
2 questions:
how long iphone battery lasts?
how do you move exposure? just using iso? there's no way to use diaphragm?
thank you!
Incredible versatility. Very inspirational as I watch this on my iPhone 11 ☺️🚀
Apple Log is so good especially if you stick on that main 24mm camera.
For real! I’m shocked everytime I go to grade it

Interesting! I’ll have to test that out. I do wish I could lock these in a little bit stiffer. Might add some mole skin to it or something
Great video. Which two or three filters would you recommend?
What a cool product. Super video as always. Clear disclosure too, important for our niche moving forward.

Tempting. I’m waiting for the 16 (or until my phone crashes). Well done 👏🏼
Anyone have any advice on avoiding that wobble you get when you move around with an anamorphic lens on?
Disable stabilisation and use a gimbal
