I feel like the more you use him the more your channel is going to blow up, jus sayin. He is a great teacher, has a great voice, and is naturally very trustworthy 👏🏼 perfect storm.
blue is so much more mainstream and used more often which is better... gold is more so limiting to atmosphere i find... like i wouldnt wanna shoot gold unless i was in a tropical or L.a, miami type area.. even still.. i would probably still wanna stick blue.
Something else to keep in mind is that when you're doing a desqueeze of anamorphic in post your stretching pixels across pixels and your dropping image sharpness/resolution. Once upon a time anamorphic was to preserve image resolution of the 35mm negative. Anamorphic on digital does not du that but you get the "retro" look if you like the flares. Bokeh is not the same between a 35mm academy frame (3:2) and a 16:9 sensor so you'll never get anamorphic bokeh unless you have a camera that shoots 3:2 and you don't use 16:9 adjusted anamorphic lenses.
I have the Blue Flare Anamorphic because it was originally the only one. But actually I think Gold flare would be more suitable for my work as I tend to shoot landscapes and outdoor adventure. So that warmth would be more welcome than the more urban, sci-fi blue flare actually. But tbh, you don't use Anamorphic just for flares and my shots rarely include flares.. it's just a cool feature if you want to light a scene that way
I'm amazed that Apple can't built an automatic flare reduction function into their cameras. I'm referring to the light green single point flaring that basically no one likes. Couldn't they determine where the corresponding green spot is to a bright area and adjust it?
They could easily implement the neural engine and use an AI algorithm to remove them actively. But, I speculate it's easier said than done and probably would be pretty expensive to do for something most of the people buying iPhones don't really care about. Especially considering it still looks great. lol
Apple have to do something about the Green Spots which are disturbing the filming in front of a light source...!!! That's really annoying to be disturbed by the Green Spots instead enjoying the blue or gold flare...!!! Thanks for the vidéo!!!
Bro!!! You guys gotta make that gold anamorphic lens for the Mavic 2 Pro!!! I would buy that in a heartbeat! I typically shoot at sunrise and sunset and that would completely change my drone footage!
Before you, Niles was the one using Moment apparatus more frequently. I see you are a very professional and organized person, rooting to see more and more actual content like this with moment items, respect!
Being able to put an anamorphic flare to a phone is awesome. Although, guessing gold flare is something specific to the artist. I love blue flare. It's the Moment M series anamorphic lens that I'm getting for my iPhone 12 pro max. My iPhone 6s has a different anamorphic lens. 2.4 : 1 ratio all day 😆👍🤔🥰🔥
I’m from Russia and we don’t have any moment lenses)))) I spent one week to find them and found one, but only blue)))) anyway thank you for this video 👍🏻
Or you can just choose “anamorphic 1.33” in the pixel aspect ratio settings in Final Cut or any editing program and the footage will desqueeze automatically
@@CeeWorld69 no, you do still need the anamorphic lens with this setting. It's just a quicker way to "de-squeeze" your anamorphic footage - instead of manually changing the scale to 133%, you tell the program to assume the footage is squeezed anamorphic footage, and it will do that re-scaling itself
@@CeeWorld69 no, you would still need this lens. The software tip above still requires the lens, it's just a more efficient way of processing footage shot with the lens
@@dunyamedia ahhh ok ok. I thought you guys were saying that I could shoot with a regular lens, and then just use my editing software to desqueeze any footage and make it look like the anamorphic lens style with the wide screen and the bars across and top and bottom lol
My gold flare arrives this coming Tuesday. I can't wait to try it using Portrait mode on my Pixel 5. I have to admit though I am tempted to get a Sirui for my Olympus M5 Mark III however that's expensive and honestly the Pixel 5 portrait in good light has been better than even my Olympus.
After watching this video, i bought myself an Anamorphic Lens Gold Flare with a new phone case on Moment Official Website. Can't wait to shoot some videos!
Shooting on note 20 ultra how do I get the flare to become horizontal without shooting in portrait mode. Filming in landscape mode the flares are only vertical.
Hello, I am desperately looking for a quality Anamorphic lens for an iphone 5s because I love the video rendering of this little smartphone. Are these two lenses that you present here compatible with the iphone 5s? Cordially
How do you desqueeze using premiere pro? I did the following and the video still looks distorted 1) Import the video i took using iphone 11 2) Right click the video, select modify 3) select Interpret footage 4) Pixel aspect Ratio 5) conform to Namorphic 1080 (1.33) 6) Put on new sequence
I'm baffled on how iPhone footage looks clear when you guys upload it vs when I do it. What editing software do you guys utilize? When I upload footage from my pro max, the footage is crap!
Once you have the phone case - you dont need any mount system? Just fix your lens on the phpne case without any mount system? In my case S10+ Also in case you wanna use a filter - can a filter be mount over a Wide Or Anamorphic lens?
Can someone tell me what the black rectangle on the left of these videos are supposed to be? I keep seeing it all over the web. And I just don't know what it is or why people use it.
I’d definitely go for the gold. I often take photos and videos out in nature. That gold blends in and makes the environment more magical.

couldn't have said it better. He made this video perfectly.
Totally agree
I know this is an advertisement, but it really doesn't feel like it. I want to buy it now, yet I don't feel forced! Keep up the great work
Personally more of a fan of blue but I really like both of them!!
Agreed

I don’t think blue is just sci-fi, but could be used in scenes that are cold or at night where gold is more in warm or daytime scenes 🤷♂️
More from this dope dude! Love him, great video, super clear. Like the gold lens, he gives warmth to the video 😊
Ayy looks like Josh's audition was successful! Looking forward to seeing your further work with Moment

I been having the gold flare since it came out, and its been my love ever since
This is so well done and straight forward. Also, WHAT A CUTIE!
Gold for day
Blue for night
I love this lens! I just bought my iPhone 12 Pro Max still waiting on Moment case can't wait this will be my first upgrade in 3 years!
I like blue more but you're right, gold looks more natural and can be used for a wider range of themes.

This guy is a truly RUclips native talent! He should have his own channel!
He doesn’t have one? :\
Lots of case uses for both, but I love the gold. I film on farms a lot, so the gold is definitely more of a natural look.
What an amazing video, love the edits and commentary. Could not have been better !!
Thx for explaining this without shouting or jumping around ;-)
yooo! that a24 party fleece is very tight.
This is why I love Moment ❤️❤️

Thanks. Finally a side by side of both on same light sources.
Just now I can’t decide.
Team Gold or Team Blue??
Where is NEUTRAL team?)
Blue, but both rock 🤘
I prefer Blue one.
#blue
Love them both, but Gold is what I will be ordering... hopefully soon.
Great instructional! I would like to use the Gold✨ lens to record myself playing Persian guitar In the solarium🌞 of the museum where I work.

Just copped both to use in different scenarios...🎥💪🏿

I wonder what was the story behind the invention of anamorphic lenses. Like who for what reason decided to make the first rectangular glass.
It was first made during world war I for tanks (it allowed to see two times a larger field of view through a simple hole)
I would buy the anamorphic lens to shot photos
I have a blue (not Moment), but would really love a gold for shooting in the rural, landscape dominated area I live.
