Princess Peach should totally have a press conference where SHE gets to answer questions about why she's kidnapped every other day.
Peach gets kidnapped every week, Zelda gets kidnapped once in a generation.
Yeah, the joke doesn't really and as well for Zelda IMO as it does for Peach. Partly because there are less mainline Zelda games and partly because it's a new character every game or two. The overall vibe here is funny but the the 'secretly getting kidnapped on purpose for an affair' just lands much better than Peach and trying to copy/paste that joke for Zelda just doesn't work as well imo.
And it"s never even the same Zelda twice!

With Link, certain things are always left unsaid.
Considering each Zelda that gets kidnapped is often a brand new reincarnation I think this would have fit better with princess peach. Since every time peach gets kidnapped it's always the same one.

Peach gets kidnapped just to get attention out so that Mario can give chase to go & rescue her before getting kidnapped *again in the follow up sequel* by Bowser due to her having a *semi closed relationship* with him, (which Nintendo never brought up, until Odyssey's game came around) 😐

The princess crown makes TOADETTE look just like peach. Shot in the dark maybe (if game theory is correct) peach has died various times and each one is just place holder.
Either that or (as another game theory suggested) those are different universes/ incarnations of their world.
This whole conference sounds like something Peach would do rather than Zelda.

Bowser also assaults through castle get to peach. Ganon tends to already get close to the princess in some capacity before kidnapping Zelda or has a magic trap that teleports her to him.

Zelda actually doesn't get kidnapped all the time. It's a different Zelda all the time and she isn't like Peach. I haven't played TOTK yet but I know the only Zelda that got captured in two separate games was Tetra due to PH being a direct sequel to WW
Does that even count, though? I mean, sure, her _body_ is missing, but she's got that phantom... Wait, never mind, that's Spirit Tracks. ALttP Zelda was _supposed_ to have been kidnapped twice, but Capcom fucked up the timeline with that line about Link not knowing her.

The fact that the narrator isn't present in the end of the video further proves everyone's point about Princess Zelda's kidnapping.

I only know it from another content creator (TerminalMontage) who does similar animation content and who has used this line in one of their Zelda parodies.

Makes more sense with Peach and Bowser since most of the Zeldas that get kidnapped are completely different Zeldas from previous games. It's not the same Zelda getting kidnapped each time.

Did you mix up Zelda with Peach? I mean Zelda sometimes gets kidnapped and inbetween are like hundreds to thousands of years, while Peach gets kidnapped every single time with like a few minutes in between...

Peach and Bowser is more likely than Zelda to be Canon though, since it's already confirmed through multiple games and the movie that Bowser is obsessive about Peach
I haven't seen Ganondorf have the same Zelda obsession though, since he also kidnaps others since as sages, in some games

Yeah, I gotta agree with some of the other comments. This doesn't feel like a Zelda conference, Peach gets kidnapped WAY more times than she does. Hell, in "Tears of the Kingdom," she turns into a giant freakin (deleted for spoilers) and practically saves the day!
I'm pretty sure Peach _is_ objectively more useful and only gets legitimately kidnapped in a few games considering how weird Mario lore can be. Link would almost always have a better, or unchanged outcome if Zelda didn't exist.
My question would be why is the game series named after her, instead of the protagonist/hero/guy who keeps saving her?

Princess Zelda probably got kidnapped on a weekly basis because it really revved her engine to ride in Ganon's car.
Each Zelda is a different one so its not about her being kidnapped multiple times. Its about each of them getting kidnapped once.

For a princess that's supoosed to be the guardian/ruler/protector of the kingdom and that triangle thingy, they sure suck at giving her some sort of protection or competent guardians. They always rely on the same street kid to solve every crisis the kingdom faces.
I'm surprised that Ganon is just as incompetent as the kingdom's higher-ups since he can't defeat that street kid no matter how many times he tries.

Here is a more important question. which form to prefer ganon takes when your with him. when he look like akuma from street fighter form? or when he looks like roadhog from overwatch form. the roadhog one is his original pig form and the akuma is skyward sword form.
i feel like a joke like this would be more suited for Peach.
Why don't more things have characters responding to a suspiciously specific denial with 'well now we do' or something to that effect? It's usually 'that's awfully specific' if anything at all, but I like that answer better.
A press conference like this is WAY more up Peach's alley.
As for future press conference ideas, perhaps Arcius could commend the Pokemon community (the pokemon themselves) for their faithful service to trainers, as well as welcome new species into the mythos. Or maybe he holds meetings with legendary pokemon about progress on keeping nature, time, space and whatnot in order. If Jirachi can't make it due to hibernation, he could do a video call through his dreams.
