- I have recently installed a new set of Yoshimura R77 Slip-on pipes on my Kawasaki ZX14R. This is just a short video to show what they look like and how they sound. I also installed the inserts to keep them a little quieter. I love the sound and the looks. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them. Thanks for watching.
I know this is an old video, but I can resist telling you how beautiful your bike is. I'm thinking about buying a 2015 model (brand new on the showroom floor) in a couple of weeks. How do you like your bike for day to day stuff, other than highway runs or twisty roads?
Hi TheCoolTable: Thanks for the post. I love the bike. I use to have a 2000 ZX 9R that I gave my son after I bought this one. This new one is the most comfortable bike I have ever had. I can get on it and back home later in the day and it rides like a dream. For the power, hang on. This one is a little heaver then my old one but very manageable. You will love it. Thanks again and drive safe. :)
Nice sound and looks. I have Titanium Akropovic slip-ons on my 2012. They finish the bike off I think.
Thanks, I bet yours look great. Thanks for watching.
Same colour as mine v nice ride safe from the uk 👍🏻🇬🇧
Pretty nice!!
I have a four into one Brocks Alien 👽 head 2
They look sweet
Do the inserts come with the slip on package from Yoshimura? Or is it a option you have to pay separately for?
It comes with the pipes. No additional cost. Thanks for post.
is there a big difference in sound compared to stock? leaning towards the R77
Hi Seneca: thanks for the comment. Yes I would say it is noticeably louder. As the stock pipe you can barley hear. If you can seen in the ends of these pipes I have the baffle/inserts in place on both. They are removable and it is quit a bit louder when you take them out. I like them left in. There is only one small bolt holding the inserts/baffles in. Very easy to change depending on how loud you want your pipes to sound. Thanks again and If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Have a super weekend and drive safe.
Thanks!
That's one slick bike! Looks good Jim.
+RailFannerFlorida Thank you so much.
Did you have to add a power commander to make the bike run smooth? I just bought the 2016 ZX14R and would like to buy the Yoshimura R77 pipes as well. Sounds great by the way.
Hi HondaMan716. Thanks for the post. No Power Commander was needed if you are just installing the slip on's. If you are installing the slip on's and new exhaust pipes, "the entire set up" then you will have to use the Power Commander. Just the slip on's no. It runs awesome. Thanks again for the post and if you have any other questions, I will be glad to help out. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Jim for the quick response. I plan on just running the slip on's. I might need to change my RUclips handle as well:)
Wow those look nice I need to do that!
Jim does your 14 run hot in the city causing the fan to come on a lot? Even on a 73 degree Fahrenheit day mine jumps to 200+ degrees and the fan runs.
Also just hit 1000 miles on mine and ready to put my Yoshimura pipes on and get rid of the monster stock cans.
Hi HondaMan716. I bet you are loving your bike. :) Yes it is perfectly normal for the 14 to run just above the 200 degree mark in slow riding or stop and go traffic, I live in Florida with 60 to 90 degree riding weather and that is where it hangs for the temperature. Even when it get in the 70's and I do really slow riding, stop and go traffic, it runs about the same 200+ temperature. (Usually 205 to 207) The fan comes on all the time. Under normal riding 70 to 90 degrees and cruising it runs about 185. (My pants legs get really hot during the summer in the city). What you are asking is perfectly normal. Hope you had a great 4th of July.
Jim Bailey thanks again! I do love this bike. It cruises at such low RPMs at 75 MPH unlike my CBR1000RR it just seems unnatural for a rocket bike. It's power starts at super low RPMs as well. It shifts like a dream. So much more comfortable too. Great purchase for sure. Hope you had a great 4th as well and safe riding my friend.
Did u. Have. To remap. ? Sounds. Like a beast.
No remapping at all. If you also install the header pipes then you have to remap. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions I'll try to help you out have a great day
have you put on a power comander or any other tuning done ?
and how much the pair cost of slip on ...?
thanks and congrats ...
Hi wascar G: Thanks for the comment. No power commander. With just the slip on's it was not required. The slip on's were about $900 including shipping. No other changes except adding sliders and a throttle lock on the end of the right handle bar. Thanks again and have a great weekend.
r77 is with the muffler or without? Nice video
I have the inserts mounted in the pipes. Have a great day.
@@JimBailey Thank you very much. I am looking to buy this particular exhaust. with the mixers is very close to the factory sound. without quieting insert has a big difference, maybe annoying
Nice!
They are still working perfect, no problems at all. Also there is absolutely no rust or tarnish on them. They still look and work like new. Thanks for the question. I hope I helped. :)
HondaMan! I've got an 08" model and have the same concern. I've got a 4 into 1 Hindle with a map I downloaded from the internet on my Power Commander. She does seem to run hot. Thought about putting an oil cooler on it but it supposedly has one in the rear of the engine. Wish it had just a big oil cooler out front. Has anybody had overheating problems with the ZX14? I'd like to hear if you cured it.
2nd fan from Schnitz racing, Gen 2 came with 2 fans stock. Zx10 front fender helps in cooling too. I have 08, all zx14s run hot, but these are the 2 most common upgrades to help stay cool.
Very cool!
+JaxRailfanner Thank you so much.
Did you have to tune it or could you just bolt it up and ride?
Hi Sean: Thank you so much for the post. With just the slip-on pipes you do not have to do any turning, it is ready to go. If you install new Yoshimura header piping and the slip-on pipes then you would have to do an engine tune. Hope this helps. Thanks again.
hi did you find the bike handle better with them new cans
Hi dell boy: I did noticed a little difference. It did seem to pull off better from a stopped position. I would say 5% better performance and 90% better sound. They are 20 lbs lighter then the stock and the looks are 100% better. Thank you so much for the comment and If I can help out in any other way, please let me know. Have a super day and safe riding.
sound good too!
Thanks :)
So much better looking!!! Can you hear them on the highway with earplugs in?
Thank you so much R.Williams for the post. Yes you can hear a low hum with earplugs. Not annoying at all. I do have the inserts in the slip-ons and If you take them out you can definitely hear them with earplugs. Hope this answers your question. Thanks again for the comment.
Thanks!
Sharp!
Thank you so much. Have a super week. :)
single 4 in 1 r77 full system is the way to go less weight more horse.
Dual looks and sounds better in my opinion, 200hp is enough already lol
