I love how Brent and Nick had totally different reactions to the search party (or whatever it’s called) and it still took them the same amount of time (30 hours)
People don't realize that the radar badge is CLUTCH in search party levels.
A Donkey Kong game with this amount of creative freedom would be a 19/10. I've never played a Donkey Kong game so getting a game like this would be a great introduction.
I mean tbh, that was what Tropical Freeze was. It's nowhere near as wacky as Wonder not because it couldn't but because that's not what it was going for. The Dkc games were always leaning towards a "grounded fantasy: approach to its levels. But the game was still insanely creative, nevertheless.

3:16 I spent nearly 3 hours on this search party all because of that one flower medal thing. Believe me when I said I tried everything. I even tried swapping out characters thinking the hidden blocks are related. I felt so stupid after looking up the solution to this. They made that look like an inaccesible part of the wall and I definitely paid that part all the time. This was one of the only 5 times in the game where I looked out how to solve parts of the game
I only needed it to find the special world exit to world 5. I revisited world 3 just fine, but I didn’t think to replay world 5’s epilogue level
I'm glad someone recognized this badge as the Galaxy spin, so many people say Propeller Mushroom with exceptions even though the only real exception to the galaxy spin is the lack of damage

I thought the Drill would be just okay but taking out enemies above you and traversing through floors and ceilings is super fun. Plus, definitely the best power-up suit across the board.

I jumped straight to my fiery death after that one Wonder Flower effect was over, because it had made my brain think that lava = harmless.
When the wonder effect wore off it was like “Oh right, lava is bad again….oops.”

And that's why even though I haven't played Wonder yet, the badges are the best part of the game. They really promote going back to other levels and playing them over and over again with different badges and power up combos. The replayablility + speed runs for this game are gonna be sick!
+ if you have trouble in those search party levels, no need to look things up (should be) if you use the radar badge~

Yoooooooooooooo, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat was so much fun. I loved that! Took some getting used to with the Bongo controls, but loads of fun once I got the hang of it. Nice to know it's still fondly remembered by others! I'd really love to see another Donkey Kong platformer in the future. It's been so long.

Dude, it makes sense with fish. A bubble of air they get trapped in deprives them of water with oxygen dissolved in it. Collapsed gills prevents them from breathing. It's why fish typically suffocate when pulled out of water

Also, that Dragon was in Yoshi Story, stage 3-1 and also stage 6-4. The design was slightly different, but it still had the bulbous nose and acted as your platform over a long stretch of pit.

Mario Wonder really is Mario Maker if you had professional makers for every level (I wouldn’t be shocked if it was revealed the Mario Maker games were made to see what they can do with the 2D Mario game by looking at fanmade levels)
