I just bought one of these last month. My left knee was shattered so I had to sell my manual Corvette for an automatic. I used to talk shit about it too when it first came out, but after having it for a month I’m in love with it. It’s a beautiful car, handles very well, and matches my Corvette’s speed in a straight line. Only difference performance wise is that the Mk5 handles extremely well, the C6 was floaty boaty handling.
Having had the chance to ride in one and talk to a few owners The only people I see talk shit about these cars are people who don’t own them. They look and sound better in person and people just need to realize that unfortunately not everybody wants or has the physical capabilities to drive manuals yet still have a love for cars.
Ur base c6 is old and outdated...your comparing a platform from as early as 2005 to a brand new supra...you were right to talk shit about it.....it's a polished z4 with a better tune...it will never be what the mk4 supra was....a legend..

@@bfab3162 own a c6z06....drove a single turbo mk4 loved it... never drove the new mk5...and drove a new z4 and its a peppy miata to me.....the reason I like the mk4 is its fully forged motor not to mention the looks..not the garbage engine toyota hired bmw to put in the mk5......if I could afford a mk4 I'd own one.....

Still ugly as sin compared to the ft1 it was spawned from. I'm surprised nobody has a tribute kit for that yet. The manual version is the only one worth it unless you're simply unable to drive stick for one reason or another outside of just not knowing. To each their own though and it's still miles better than some gutless fwd economy box with a CVT, or EV knock off with just the name.
I prefer this over mk4 and it's coming in manual soon also that Z4 platform and thay BMW inline 6 is cool since they're great at making them , so it's a more reliable Z4 which is something you want in your bmw, the modern ones pack's a great punch but the reliability and design throw me off but this one is different

The only issue with the Supra MK5 is that the wheel base is so short. You could only make so much power before the car becomes impractical and the rear wheels constantly spin.
