There's only one, the game keep trying to connect with the internet when you are playing so mr goldberg found a way to play off-line and empress did the license it took a year bc of that
It's truly amazing that to stop piracy R* caused issues with paying customers with customers who made the mistake of not wanting a rootkit (SecuRom) on their computers. Made those pesky pirates wait a whole week instead of having the game cracked within the hour. 🙃
Oh yeah the drunk camera! I was still a kid back then and I was playing it in an internet cafe so I didn't knew what was that about.Eventually i fixed this problem somehow but here's the thing. The game was moded, to be honest the only reason I started playing TBOGT in a net cafe was the fact that the owner put real, licensed cars in the game BUT there was a mission where I needed to pick up 2 passengers with a Landstalker. Problem is that in its place there was a 2-door Hummer prototype so one of the passengers couldn't get in XD
I finished GTA 4 and EFLC on xbox 360 using bootleg discs that were super cheap. Looks like Rockstar games forget to add anti-piracy measures on consoles HAAA!!
This also started the anti boobytrapyness for copy protections as well. Even some threw themselves on the bandwagon later, Bohemia with Flashpoint bragged of FADE, but FADE never existed in the base game. It was introduced with patches later, however it's lifetime was quickly squashed when it did surface and a lot of pirates never saw it appear. But the triggers for regular users eventually made most developers shy away from this practice as they did burn quite a few legitimate customers, and in the grand scheme of things back then, protection for 3-4 days wasn't really worth it. The slowness of the supply chain meant that even for legitmate users, you couldn't get it on day 1, so unless you secured a month it wasn't that worthwhile and as such they often got the pirated version before you could get in the store. This was before fast internet was a thing too, so as a result downloading also took quite a bit of time to do.
@@Hans5958 I think he meant the actual person playing, whoever does that speedrun is going to be staying home for about a week until they get their balance back
Some interesting anti-piracy measures there indeed😮 always enjoy watching these videos, certainly makes for quite a learning experience in itself, along with the amount of work/research that goes into producing this fantastic content too!👍👏
this game took 3 days to crack...and more than 4 years since its release in 2009 to 2013 when the steam posts from the video were complaining about the anti-piracy measures for rockstar to fix🤣
The best way to get a pirated copy to work as the original one was to use any cd key in game for windows live for any game that used same client. I used my cdkey for Fallout 3 I bought for literally equivalent of 1$.
12:00 - There is a bug in the game when I reach the mission shown in the 12th minute despite me having a legitimate copy of the game on Steam. The game goes into an infinite loading screen. Pretty strange that even legitimate players are punished.
@@tostadorafuriosa69 Exactly man. I have the same issue with my game I couldn't finish. quite annoying that I couldn't even complete my game despite paying for the whole damn game. lol.
Vadim M here saying that EFLC taking 4 days to crack was long, meanwhile these days any AAA game with heavy protection getting cracked within that amount of time is considered a miracle from God.
I always tried to call police backup when I had to kill enemies. Mostly all police officers were busy, but sometimes they came and started shooting with other guys. But I had to call them a bit far away from the enemies and try to luck they will arrive from their side. Than I just walked in, gangsters started shooting to me and police reacted.
All these measures taken, yet I remember just copying the GTA IV folder over and easily playing it without steam or a cd. (had license but copied it for modding)
Did anyone else notice the steep drop-off in quality of games the more advanced the copy protection got? Seems like piracy actually resulted in people choosing the games they buy more wisely and rewarding only the better quality ones. Today, you can't do that anymore, and people still want games - so now all the games are either terrible quality or remakes (with only a few exceptions, mostly by independent devs).
If only they put even half this much effort into remastering San Andreas. Instead of just running the game through some software, not even checking it for all the glitches and then selling it.
In my childhood , I bought GTA 4 and EFLC from my local game store . And this protections apperead to me even I have a geniune game . At the time I thought they were bugs and now 6 years later I know the truth.
If someone is going to torrent a game, it's likely not ever going to be a sale. I'll never understand DRM. If I like a game I pay for it after I try it. All these modern titles being so trash..yeah I'll continue my own demos.
I torrent games and if I get bored of them after a couple of hours or it's badly optimezed, I won't buy it. If its fun,i buy it for all my platforms, since I actually enjoyyyy them.
I actually bought a game I pirated because I enjoyed it, then when I tried to play it I got constant crashes and cutscenes wouldn't play. The pirated version, on the other hand, worked perfectly. That's what I get for buying games, I guess.
@@eneco3965 same thing happened to me, I pirated rainbow six vegas 2 on pc. Worked really well, then i bought the ps3 version on psn to play coop with a friend and the audio was completely broken, to the point that story missions became umplayable.
The fact that you can combine the weakened cars AND self driving to turn them into land torpedoes, means the pirated version has features that weirdos like me want to play with, like the serious sam scorpion.

If I ever make a game, I’m gonna make the piracy beatable, because if you can complete a game on this difficult of piracy you deserve it.
That Mean You Want Your Game Give The Player "Hard Mode" If They Crack Your Game?
Wait, a minute, that can be interesting level of difficulty.
if you beat the game you get a chance to send a request to the developer for the actual game
@@noone3708 That would be nice from the developers.
Well in the 5th gen Pokemon games if you have a pirated copy you can't level up, which games the game way harder, but stills beatable.
After 6 years i discovered that the camera shake wasn't because of my bad laptop, but because it was a cracked game. Holy shit.
1k in 8 min that’s how you know we love Vadim
Gonna admit... Luis and Johnny K with the pirate hats made me chuckle

My alarm sounds but i sleep one hour more, now i discover i lost the moment to comment a Vadim M video...
I love Badger's voice. So soothing to listen to. He's by far the best narrator here. :>
Agreed 🥰
You are morally required to pirate any game with lame anti-piracy measures that hurt non-pirates too. And you aren't a 'freeloader' for doing so.
I personally find the self-driving feature fun, as you can use the infamous Swingset Of Death, without dying as the car drives itself.
Ah yes. Welcome notifications gang
I bet they would do more money if they just invest those efforts in making more features instead of doing anti-piracy shit.
Wait it hasn't been 3 months how could you upload this soon
I finished GTA 4 and EFLC on xbox 360 using bootleg discs that were super cheap. Looks like Rockstar games forget to add anti-piracy measures on consoles HAAA!!
I played both Liberty city stories and vice city stories on bootleg PS2 discs.
hmm is that flulff kevlar art i see?
didn't expect that vadim would upload under 1 month
I have actually finished GTA IV on cracked version 😅
I finished eflc with cracked version

These were patch like 2 days after release. However, the game was never optimized by rockstar...
When I start to play GTA IV in early 2011 was a pirate copy and I never see any of this anti piracy modes that rockstar puts in the game.
Because the anti piracy stuff was defeated 4 days after the games release

The Drunk Camera is hilarious in cutscenes and shootouts. I wonder if anyone completed the whole game with all these anti-piracy effects.
We need a GTA V version of this masterpiece.
Anant Sharma good luck on that, Take Two took down a remaster of red dead redemptions map in gta 5

It would be extremely interesting to see someone try to speedrun this version of the game. anti-piracy%
The best way to get a pirated copy to work as the original one was to use any cd key in game for windows live for any game that used same client. I used my cdkey for Fallout 3 I bought for literally equivalent of 1$.
Bikers are always drunk or high so that’s just normal 😂
this type of cancerous DRM is why I will always support piracy
people are gonna find ways around protections like this regardless. should've focused on better optimization on pcs.
I cracked the game and I didn't even encounter any of those. Seems like I'm pretty smart for a pirate

Rockstar logic: there will be zero piracy if the game doesnt run
The voice is good. Almost too good. Nobody speaks like that for real. If they did, they'd definitely get punched.
Did anyone else notice the steep drop-off in quality of games the more advanced the copy protection got?
Seems like piracy actually resulted in people choosing the games they buy more wisely and rewarding only the better quality ones. Today, you can't do that anymore, and people still want games - so now all the games are either terrible quality or remakes (with only a few exceptions, mostly by independent devs).
i like how he's saying freeloader instead of player
I've never played this game completely through. I just dicked around with my friends when they came over

No, which is why some people in the comments are saying they bought cheap discs for a eastern euro shop for cheap and beat the game
