Absolutely!! Waylon gets a lot of praise for being the king of the outlaws but the true level of his talents are often ignored to talk about him bucking the Nashville system. The man had an incredible vocal range and his guitar picking skills was pretty damn impressive especially a so called "country" player of that time.
People don’t understand how important that harmonica player is to country music. Donny brooks played with everyone from Waylon to Jerry Jeff Walker. He taught Mickey Raphael every thing he knows! So good
If you like this, be sure to check out the “Wanted: The Outlaws” album with Waylon, Willie, Jessie and Tompall, probably the best outlaw country album ever. (Not the Outlaws band).
Waylon 🤠🎸😁! Watching this exactly one mile from where Ol’ Waymore is parked (I live here - Mesa, Arizona)! I turned it up loud, so Hoss could hear it 😁❤️! Wish there was a live “Lonesome, Ornery, and Mean” on here 😁, or better still “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?” 🤩🤠🎸!
November 30, 1973 (Episode 44; Season 2, Episode 12) hosted by Procol Harum. That's the one they're in according to the episode guide I looked at. I hope that's helpful to people who want to see that.
Incredible music! I can’t thank you folks enough for sharing all these treasures from back when music and entertainment was something amazing to see, hear and experience! Sad that it’s all being hijacked by the pre packaged, money hungry, phony crowd. Keep the good times rollin’, Midnight Special team!
Waylon was a tremendous singer. Dark and rich like old Port wine.

Only 5K views of this absolute masterpiece of live outlaw country? Wow..

Not everything, but he gave Mickey the building blocks to become the player he is.
Don Brooks knew how to frame lyrics like no one else!!
@@stephenkatko3236you’re totally right! you can hear Mickey in Don’s playing! Mickey was a folk harmonica player then Don showed him the ways!
I’m pretty sure that’s roger Crabtree on the harmonica
@@diamonddave9035 you would be incorrect
He’s such a good harmonica player.

Waylon Jennings was a great singer, I am glad he played on TMS.
Seems just like yesterday my dad was still here listening to "Honkey Tonk Heroes."
Happy Wednesday... thank you for sharing! 💖
One of my favorite Billy Joe Shaver / Waylon songs!
RIP Billie Joe and Waylon. Thank You!

Classic country! I only heard a little of Waylon growing up, but I'm liking him! The band was great, too! 😉✌️
More Waylon, please! This is excellent.
