Hey Kendall! Great to see you here in my neighborhood! Great video about the Fort. I have fond memories of school field trips there. I'm excited to see the GG Bridge video!
Another nice one Kendall. You always tell the most interesting stories about true landmarks that I routinely drive by, around or in this case over, without being aware of the history right in front of me (or under). Thanks again.
Really enjoyed this adventure Kendall, The short canon amused me. I have never seen one so short. I vaguely recall seeing this Fort while I was there in the late 60's. I thought the building was something to do with the bridge like power plant or something. Now I know it was a fort. Glad you shared your time their with us. look forward to more have a great day.
Thanks for watching another video. The short cannon is odd, but I'm no cannon expert. 😆 They obviously had experience I'll never have. I'm guessing a lot of people think the same about the fort based on where it is. I find it amazing that they spared the fort when building the bridge. I'm glad they did.
What impresses me about the San Francisco Bay area are the series of forts littered throughout. You can spend weeks exploring the various installations. One of my favorite places to explore is Angel Island. There is a Civil War era installation called Fort Reynolds (named after Maj Gen John Reynolds, who died on day one of the battle of Gettysburg). Also, Fort McDowell, est. in the 1890s that received returning Span-Am soldiers and during WWI, it served as a transit station for troops. You gave a very concise and well explained narration of the fort. Thank you for taking us on these adventures.
Wow! I had no idea. I've never been to Ellis Island but my mom said it's a must see. She was pregnant with me when she went there. Maybe that's why I love this kind of history so much. 😂
Outstanding!
Thanks!
Really nice!
Thanks!
Thanks Kendall and look forward to the Golden Gate video.
My pleasure! I hope to have that one ready soon.
San Francisco has so much neat history! Thanks Kendall for all you teach us 🎉
Glad you learned something new. Fort Point is fun to visit.
great info!
It's a great place to visit if you've never been.
Kendall that was very well done. I'm also looking forward to the Golden Gate Bridge video.
Thank you!

I'm hoping to do more in that area in the near future. So many great things to see there.

I love that you are learning about the history around you. Hopefully I can share more with you. Thanks for watching!

I'll have to check out Angel Island and the other places you mentioned. They sound really interesting. Thanks for the information and for watching!
If you ever make it to Angel Island, there is the old quarantine/immigration center. It was known as the Ellis Island of the west.
