That previous owner is very generous! Looking good mate this is going to be awesome 👏
I have a feeling that this bike should've been taken down to the frame so that it could be inspected for any hidden cracks or weak points. It'd be one thing if the bike was low-sided and skidded, but it was flipped several times and who knows the amount of damage all that mass spinning around put on the welds, joints, connection points, and even the neck seeing how one of the clip-ons was snapped off. In the short term all that repair to the main wiring harness will work, but I would definitely look into getting a replacement. All those splices create more resistance to the current flow causing more heat which will cause more degradation. As the wiring harness moves around and flexes all those splices will slowly, but surely, pull apart, or completely separate if not applied correctly. There is also an increased likelihood of those splices wearing through creating short circuits and bleed throughs on the bike's electronics. The forks should also be looked at and probably be rebuilt/replaced. Every single bearing for the steering head and wheels should be gone over to make sure they are still true. The engine should also be torn down and gone through because they bike had been flipped over and left exposed to the elements. Any bit of unseen rust or debris will wreck havoc on that high-revving, tight tolerance, finely tuned motor. Being flipped there is also a chance of rotational force damage to any of the journals and wrist pins, and even damaged gear teeth. Just my $0.02 though having rebuilt a wrecked 2010 Triumph Daytona 675.
Nah, 😂 let’s not do things the right way. It will be a new owners problem. One of these builds is going to kill someone falling apart at speed.
My heart stopped @2:12 when you started to drill the bolt out without covering the spark plug hole. Glad to see you picked up on the swarf in there later.
Haha yeah stupid mistake, good thing I kept the spark plugs in lol
Parts everywhere!! You could establish your own workshop right now, CJ! Great work!
Huge shout out for the previous owner.. Thats save cj a huge buck👍🏼👍🏼 And not forget to mention, the collection of all major brand for leader bike almost there..
To get that bolt out stuck in the riv nut get a pry tool and with upward pressure on the bolt while your removing the bolt it will either pull the bolt and riv nut out or spin the bolt out but you need good preasure on the bolt
The bike is starting to take form ❤
Good luck
while your in this scenario complete the valve checks ; it's the "thing" / quirk with this bike
If you cant get the spinning bolts out of the rear sub frame, which is scrap anyway, just cut the section out thats got them held so you can get to the rear of them and then you can hold them with some mole grips and twist them out..............simples.👍
If his video's duration gets 1 hour , still I'm gonna watch it.
😂 Thanks TAN! I doubt I would ever do that, just due to it getting boring
hi CJ.. you can repair the bent rear set gear by using a round hollow steel, the size should bit bigger than the gear knob and pry it gently until it back to the original position..
Perfect! I'll give that a go! Cheers fikri!
I've been following your fantastic videos since the Panigale restoration days, it's great to see you working again to bring this italian masterpiece back to its glory.
Keep up the good work CJ, hope to see your hands on a MV Agusta F4 one day, it would be awesome...
Greetings from Rome 🟢⚪🔴
If the motor has rust in the bore, it MUST be addressed, it will blow smoke and use oil, and lose power.
You're right dean, I plan on doing a leak down test and making sure I have oil pressure
The hairspray trick with the grips is an oldshchool motorcycle hack. Shoutout to Reece! Built from the bottom!
So what I did with the bolts spinning in the rivets is I used a cats claw or even a big hammer with a claw (roofing hammer) to apply pressure down on the rivet with I used my other hand to drive out the srew with a screw driver. Awesome video as always. Keep it up dude! Loving this video.
Love watching your segment! It amazes me how you put a totally destroyed motorcycle back together! Wow 😮
Thanks Darrell! Cheers
The build is looking great, and congrats to your sister.
Thank you Jerry! We are all very proud of her
You can actually delete the evaporation canister that's on the left side of the bike. Check out clips on how to remove it on RUclips for this!
no way those forks are straight!
Cut the scrap subframe to expose the captive thread, hold the captive thread in mole grips and remove the bolt,I have had luck by using a strong adhesive on the captive part if cutting open isn't an option, then I would fit a new insert, its time consuming, but saves replacement,I hope this helps
Bro the beast is coming to life and I can see it 🥺🥺🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️❤️
Finally bro I was eagerly waiting for this episode. greetings from Turkey
Because of how new this bike is and how finicky the electrical systems can be - why not just source out a new harness? Kudos to you bro for taking that complicated bike apart and breathing new life back into it 👍
nice job on the attention to detail on the wiring with that fabric tape. great rebuild content!
you can get the bolts out that turns by putting pressure on the underside if it is possible, otherwise you gotta drill the entire bolt and make a new thread
This series is wonderful inspiration for my new Aprilia RSV 1000 Mille project I picked up with a title for stupid cheap. Mine wasn't crashed though so I have no excuses...
Mine is missing the key also but i think i can get a new one cut by a locksmith since it is a pre transponder bile.
Dude I wish you knew how much knowledge I'm get of my own bike from this content THANK YOU!
My pleasure! Happy to hear! Cheers man
As a bike lover i really enjoyed watching your vedios Brooo ❤
Looking good. Nice of the previous owner to help.
Proud of you buddy and keep lifting Jesus up
Always Brian 🙏😁
check the frame, it's bent for sure
CJ, with the spinning Rivnuts, try some vice grips and squeeze the frame slightly, this should stop the rivnut from spinning.
That's a good idea John! I'll give that a go!
@@CJMediaOfficial You are trying to get the bolts out of the broken sub frame?, because you don't want to mark up the new one.
It's amazing how quickly the bike is coming back together, great video CJ.
Thanks John! She is taking shape!!!!
@@CJMediaOfficial Your welcome my friend.
8:07 Try to use air compressor for put off and put on those handgrip

has to be one of the best sounding bikes out there. and the R1M, they just have that grunt about them :)
The R1M is so insane. I sometimes only right it for the sound compaired to the other bikes lol

Hi, good job CJ.
I really don't understand why would you go with a really wrecked bike (even the engine didn't seem yo work), but good props on you.
It would be interresting to see how much of the initial wrecked bike is gone to the trash.
Wirklich gute Arbeit!!!( Realy nice Work!!!!)
I really want to see a garage rebuild. Epoxy floor and hopefully get sponsored by some toolbox manufacturer :D
Hopefully one day 😎
You could have also used air to mount the grip without any lubrication

Pretty sure the safety approval sticker is for pre-track inspections
O really? it said "state of Virginia" so I assumed it was a state inspection thing.

A another excellent vlog 😊
Cheers friend!
Very nice 👍
❤❤
Your video is like drugs... Everyday I found new video if not seen continue watching previous parts ❤️🔥 love from INDIA 🇮🇳
thanks bro!! Greetings to you in India
Good job
That’s an Evotech tail tidy, not OEM. It’s almost the only decent solution for us Europeans with gigantic number plates. I have the same on V4S and looks decently better than OEM.
Indeed I have just seen that previous owner also sent you the “monstrously ugly” OEM bracket 😂
Did you get a new left hand control switch? If so did you find a new one or used one?
I didn’t end up getting a new one
Time for some budget bike rebuild? Like MT07 or R7?
Haha yes! A naked bike would be epic!
🤩🤩🤩
Hey CJ, you still got a lot to do. May be this one takes you more then as usual 10ep. approximately. I like the grips. Very soft(comfortable). That was a second thing which I changed for my current bike-Honda. First was Levers 😂.
Good luck with that Italian stallion, but I think one episode cost you only for plugs and cables unfortunately.
Stay positive 👍💪
Next please !!!!❤❤❤
New video live in the morning!
Love from dhaka Bangladesh ❤️💕💕💕
