I don't know how that chord became the "Jimi Hendrix chord". The Beatles used it in Taxman long before Hendrix. And I'm sure if we dig around there is a lot more prior to that. Anyone know how it picked up that name ??
Jimi played it all the time and it's a quintessential part of guitar chord shape vocabulary, I guess you could say! People just seem to associate it with "Foxy Lady" rather than Miles, or the Beatles like you said.
