Your testimony for the Lord was so sweet and I appreciate you sharing that. A simmer pot sounds lovely. I had an old copper teapot I would use sometimes. I may try to find it soon. Staying busy and on task is so much better when dealing with stress. I have the tendency to shut down. Love you.

Nice idea with the simmer pot. Will try that. I helped my sister Friday and Saturday with a cake walk booth for her church Fall Feast. When I got home last night. No clean dishes. 😂😂😂 I went to church this morning. And, ask God to give me the want to I needed to do them. So, the dishwasher is running as I watch your video. I will do laundry tomorrow. It is 81 degrees here in N.C. The leaves are falling. And, I love Fall. Thanks for your sky shots and videos of the beautiful trees. God never disappoints us with His nature views. I pray you have a fantastic week. Say hello to your family for me. Jesus loves us!

Karen, some great motivation in this video for me. You and I were clearing out paperwork together, as I was clearing out my filing cabinet whilst also watching you doing your home school paperwork. Regards simmer scent pots, I used to do a cheats version. I simply boiled up a kettle full of water, let it cool slightly and then adding similar ingredients to the ones you added into two small Chinese squat bottomed (open-lidded) teapots with lit tea light burners underneath, and putting them in my lounge and kitchen. The smell wafted through the house and smelled amazing all day. I added two drops of tea tree oil into the mix which also helped the slight steam disinfect the air naturally too.

I love the idea of a simmer pot.
They say you can add anything, but some combinations just wouldn’t work, such as the old broccoli florets, shriveled cabbage, and expired garlic powder recipe.

I really enjoy your videos. You are so real. I have to declutter the basement store room. We moved here 2 years ago (downsized a lot) and have so much packed in there. It is dark, damp and gloomy. I keep putting it off but have told myself 1 box a weekend. That's it. then eventually it will get done. Now I need a weekend that I am home and not expecting grandkids (which in reality is almost every weekend). But I hate doing this with my husband because he wants to keep everything "just in case". But his idea of "organizing is piling the boxes on top of each other so they are over my head and of course the heavy ones are on top. We don't work well together, never have and I should have realized this before we got married (second, recent marriage).

The simmer pot notion is interesting. My parents have a farm, so I always compost those kinds of things. But if someone simmers with these ingredients, they could then compost it and get 2x the use.
But I'd probably put a label on it to tell others if they are not supposed to eat it.

    Photos and picture piles.... ugh!
    Here's what I did....
Last winter I bought a bunch of clear shoes boxes and small envelopes.
I started going through all my photos, starting in the 70's when teen years started and marriage and children came.
Every night I took a box and emptied each envelope. Remember they came with negatives and you would mark the date. Well I threw away the negatives , went through each picture.
Tossing ones that were blurry, dumb, doubles, etc. I put aside the ones that would be more important for my sisters of their kids, etc.
I put them in a new envelope, marking the envelope of the event, the year. Then I put them in the shoebox, filing front to back.
Then I put a lid on the box. Labeled the front with the year.
    Done.
Each night I would attack a box.
I also took all the pictures out of frames.
Then I got large manilla envelopes and put each of my childrens (we have 5) school pics in those.
    Same with my 9 granddarlings.
Now when they talk about a vacation, Holiday, etc they can just go grab a box and there it should be.
Sorry this is long.... but so was my picture organizing chore!!!

The ticks in Maine are awful. So many people we know have Lyme! I’m so sorry you are struggling with this! We hire someone to clean up the leaves. I try to keep things raked up. It was worse when we had a dog because he would carry ticks inside. So I use precautions and we don’t walk in the woods but it still could happen as it has for you! Please don’t ever regret homeschooling cuz what is being taught in school now is ridiculous. I’m glad the area we live in doesn’t put up with that crap like other states but there are things that they teach now to my grandkids that I question a lot. I personally think Common Core was the most stupidest thing ever invented. Like my husband always says, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. I still can’t believe they don’t teach cursive here anymore. How are our future generations going to read important documents? Sorry, for my rant.
