Hmmm. Maybe 1991 was the opening year bc usually they Install the Elevators on the most bottom floors first & then they built up to the street so I’m guessing this Elevator was from 1986-89 bc again, it takes years to build a whole station due to how underground this station is especially Wheaton with the VERY LATE LONGEST Westy Escalators in the Western Hemisphere
I have some unfortunate news regarding this elevator. I was browsing WMATA's procurement website a few months ago for something unrelated and came across a bid for elevator modernizations and this elevator was one of the ones listed to be modded. It was number 11 on the list of 17 hydraulic elevators listed to be modernized and the list is sorted by priority. So it's safe to assume that this mod is probably going to happen sometime within the next five years.
There’s also another US elevator in DC at the Navy Yard Metro Station
That’s a cool us elevator

1991?
I looked it up on Google and it said that this station was built in 1991.
I think it’s going to get modded by northern elevator company
I highly doubt Northern is doing it.
@@JimLiElevatorswho knows. but the good news is, i come back, and it’s still there
