    I’ve never cared about tires until I got these almost
    Accidentally and slowly started realizing how incredible they were. I’ve had mine for quite awhile now and love them just as much.
    I’ve suggested them to multiple people and have successfully influenced them to get a set. No one has regretted it despite the steep charge, they are worth every penny.

    Thanks for the update on the CrossClimate2. I have this set on a FWD HEV for over 16 months now and has driven between -40F (-40C) to 104F (40C) for 25,000 Mile (40,000KM) and enjoying the performance and safety through rain, slush, ice and snow and ended up selling the Micheline X-Ice Xi-3 (used only one season). The millage definitely improved and exceed the OEM set after adding 2~3 psi in the summer and 4~5 psi in the winter. Great news to know that after 50,000 Miles (80,500KM) the condition of the tires are still excellent. Yes, they like large rock; however, compare to the Micheline Xi-3 that has seven tinny little sips on each outer edge block plus the larger blocks and horizontal sips that loves holding rocks which took me more an hour to remove all sizes of stones on each tire... this one is as easy as a walk in a park for me. Thanks again for the video and I sure looking forward to the final performance review when these tires goes down to 2/32.

    I appreciate such a long term review of these tires. After a lot of online reading and consideration, I'm putting a set on my 2016 Subaru Outback. Winters in New England can be a real crap shoot on how much snow we'll get, or how often; but I thought the expense would be well worth it, since I travel between MA, NH & ME in all kinds of weather.

      You’ll love them. I had them on my 2016 Outback Limited and they did very well in the dry, wet, and snow in the PNW. They are fairly quiet but have a little tread growl, due to their design. For a little bit I thought they were unbearably loud but it turned out to just be a bad wheel bearing. I had 15k miles on them before I traded the car in on a 2022 Outback Touring.

      @@parsley0120 Thanks for the input. My 2016 Outback is a Limited, also. My initial impression when I picked up the vehicle after installation was that the tires were very smooth and responsive, and I detected very little noise, but then again I usually ride with music playing, anyways, so I wouldn't notice.

      You'll enjoy them unless you get into semi-severe winter conditions ( rear wheel Drive) They will still be better than all seasons, or "All Terrain M&S tires. They call these all seasons but they are actually "all weather" tires ( Mountain Snowflake symbol) I am concerned a little about hwo much confidence they will give me on Black Ice or compact snow but I will drive accordingly ( braking lighter and earlier, taking curves on the highway a bit slower ) as I had dedicated winter tires that were pretty hard to beat.

      I'd never drive on tires with 2/32" tread. That's where the wear bars are running on the road. I've never owned a set of tires that aren't extremely compromised in terms of noise/grip/braking/wet weather well before the wear bars are making contact. People do yourself and everyone else on the road a favor and replace them before you get to the wear bars. You'll thank me later.

  • @alexwill3722
    @alexwill3722 Год назад +2

    Wow not bad for 50,000 miles. That would be 80,000 kilometers here. I always said I would be happy to get 60-70,000 kms ( 40-45,000 miles) out of a set of tires. The 60,000 "warranty" is a prorated warranty meaning you don't get a new tire for free, they take account of how much wear and how many miles on the tire ( keep your receipt showing the mileage when they were installed ) and take off the % based on those calculations. By the way, that's on the "retail price" so a tire you originally may have paid $200 for is selling retail for $230. 2/32s is way too low a number for replacement. All Seasons should be replaced at 3-4/32s and dedicated winter tires should be changed out at around 5/32s,. If you don't get snow, or icy roads and don't drive to anywhere that gets snow or ice and no heavy rain, then going to 3/32s on all seasons or summer tires is okay. Some people in some reviews have said that their fuel consumption has increased by 3-5 MPG. I have a vehicle that is "rated at" just over 30 mpg and my fuel mileage is the same so I suspect that either those people swapped out from a set of "low rolling resistance" Eco friendly tires or they are running too low air pressure. I also agree with you that they are quiet tires. Our vehicle's original tires were also very quiet ( Michelin Lattitudes ) and these are making no more moise than those. Some tires make a little more noise on certain road surfaces. I thought these that were bought and installed in June were making a little more noise on some local freshly paved roads but it turns out the slight "hum" is actually the rear diff ( All Wheel Drive) In over 40 years of driving I have never had a tire that disperses standing water as well as these. Don't get me wrong, you can feel it but it doesn't pull to one side or the other and the cruise control doesn't "click off" like it did with the previous tires. One possible reason these "wear" a little better is apparently because the Cross Climate 2s have a tread depth of 11/32s when new while most Michelins ( not Winters though) start at about 10/32s. Also Michelin used trad and rubber design that promotes wear resistance without giving up wet and light winter grip, That's why they cost a little more than "lesser" tires because those tire manufacturing methods are more expensive to do. So far ( about 5000 miles ) I really like these tires and I got them at one of Canada's largest Tire Retailers at 25% off. I will be running them this winter instead of my usual switch to Winter Tires as mine were worn below 5/32s. I will run a new set of winter tires next October. If winter is anything like next year this should be a good test but I already know these won't work as well as the Michelin X Ices that I had on for 3 1/2 winters ( Late October to late April) that I had those.

    You can't beat a Michelin. I have them on my SUV and they are great. Great dry, wet, and snow traction. They also hold the tire pressure very consistently. They are worth the extra price which over the period of 60k miles is really insignificant. Don't skimp on the tires. Save money elsewhere.

    I have been using Continental Pure Contact LS. I live in Chicago. We get a few snowstorms here in the winter but the roads get cleared within a day. Last year there was a huge blizzard where you could only see about 15 feet ahead of you I was able to drive 40mph while everyone else had their hazzards doing 20. I have no complaints about my tires but I've read these were great for rain and snow. My biggest gripe with them so far compared to my current set is they have no rim protection, they lower your mpg by 1 or 2, a little noisier but not much, eat rocks which I assume make noise as you drive along, look aggressive. Please convince me why I should go with these over what I currently have. Michelin CC2 is rated #1 tire overall while Continental Pure Contact LS gets a runner up in some rankings.

      @@mohammedraheemuddin7002 Since nobody decided to convince me, based on my further research CC2s do eat rocks and it looks unsightly but doesn't contribute to the noise. I was able to find one test video which compares Continental PureContact LS with CC2s directly and they were even except for the snow/ice, another test concluded CC2s to be below the competition in dry and wet quick cornering and breaking although other tests said breaking is where they shine. It also makes squeaky noises when cornering at higher speeds on dry pavement. I started wondering if some of these tests aren't sponsored by Michelin to make their tires look superior. Either way I bought another set of Continentals for my car I have ran them for 50k miles+ and have had no major problems with them. Within the tires and my traction control system preventing me from drifting they're good on snow as well. Seems like snow/ice is where the CC2s outshine other all season tires but in Chicagoland snow isn't that major of a problem. Had I lived further north in Wisconsin/Minnesota or Canada or in the Rockies I would definitely be inclined to give them a try. Hope that helps.

      The Blizzaks are better in the snow as these are a dedicated snow tire however they do not handle standing water on the road and if it is not snowing these tires wear faster they also loose a lot of traction at 50% tread life

      I have used Bridgestone in the past, two winters ago the bridgestone blizzak ws90 and have a review on this channel..... I think I would not give the WeatherPeaks a try because of how the blizzaks lost most of there performance when the tires got to half of there tread life where as the CrossClimate2s are suppose to have the same performance from 10/32nd to 2/32nd when they need to be replaced

    5-6-5 indicates to me you are running the tires slightly under inflated, if they were over inflated you would see the opposite effect, I would increase your tire pressures by about 3lb to even out the tire wear right across the tread width !

    • @Colin623
      @Colin623 11 месяцев назад

      @@wayne7805 No not at all, if you over inflate a tire the centre of the tire will wear out first, under inflation means the centre of the tire doesn't make much contact with the road ! Think of your tire as a balloon, if too much air the profile of the tire would look similar to the profile of the balloon ! Just one single point of contact with the road ! under inflation does the exact opposite only the outside edges make contact with the road just like an arched bridge ! Not enough pressure to push out the centre of the tire onto the road ! Hope that helps.

    Intrigued by the warranty on the tyres, we don’t have that in the UK. Sk if they wear out before 60k Michelin will replace them? They must use a much harder compound in the US as there’s no way tyres last that long over here.

    How does the warranty work with these? I bought a brand new set for my Rav4 Hybrid and it vibrates once I go over 70MPH. The car was not vibrating when I took off the OEM tires just under 500 miles. I had it rebalanced three times already with no luck. So I'm pretty sure it's the tire or MAYBE the rim if it was damaged while mounting the new tires? But yeah, back to my initial question, when attempting warranty work, do you need to send in the tires?

      Defender 2 will last longer and can be rotated side to side. CC2 are directional and must be kept on one side of the car. CC2 will not like hot weather as much. I think there might be cheaper options for a car not having that many miles put on yearly. Have wheel bearings and steering joints checked for play before you put new tires on. You don't want to chew a pricey set of tires up because of alignment. (Yes I am a cheap SOB.)
