    Good Truck 👍

The 14 5.3l does NOT have an LS engine. It's an LT engine,, an entirely different engine. Just an FYI. Mine currently has just over 100k miles. Good truck!

Yeah definitely an evolution and an upgrade. I really like the power the direct injection provides although I wish it was a quieter injection system. The K2XX trucks with the L83 feel much more powerful than a GMT 900 with the LC9.

I'm looking to get one. Any issues you've ran into? I hear to do the 4cyl delete via obd2.

@@Kyle5K Don't worry about that , my 2015 has 170,000 miles with no issues . The shift from 8 to 4 is seamless and you'll never even know it's there !

When buying a used Chevy pay for a full engine diagnostic before purchasing. I only got 950 miles out of my Chevy with 74000 miles on it. Check the condition of the lifters, cams, and fuel system.

My 2017 Silverado high country left me stranded 4 times, my extended warranty is up April 22. Yesterday I went and sold it. No way would I own one ever again without a warranty. That $3k warranty took care of nearly $14k repairs. Money well spent. Will miss it though. Beautiful truck but not reliable.

@@OceanHeartFan91 I had mine rebuilt by GM with full AFM/DOD deletion and got a two year unlimited mile power train warranty with the job that awesomely extended to my transmission. I picked up two mpg. I had a good tech do the work and so far I’m really happy. The rebuild cost me $3500. The job total was $7200 but GM covered a lot of it.

Facts I bought my 15 LTZ 6 months ago and I’m changing the motor now along with cam , turbo, headers and throttle body. Anymore suggestions?

@@chall443 yes, check your bed light to make sure it’s not cracked or has a bad seal. Mine did and I have mold in my headliner and floor carpet now. The bed lights are a serious issue that can affect your health.

I love the looks, and the interior is nice but the lifter and transmission issues are so common AND pricey!

GM need to stand behind their Silverado's trucks because their at least a $45.000 dollar truck which is a lot of money 💰. You don't expect to pay that much for a truck that has so many issues. And are problems that GM has know about for years. And done nothing to improve on them. Shame on GM.

4 minute mark. So the ford is better, rear end and engine options and better transmission. A v8 and a v6TT with more power than the 5.3 at lower rpm. Not to mention having an actual selectable locker, no need to lose traction to activate the Gay-80 rear end

Definitely not, if you like having your truck sound like a hair drier just say that. The 6 speed Ford transmission is definitely not better from experience. The 3.5 Ecoboost feels about the same power wise but sounds worse and doesn’t get as good of mileage. The Ford locking rear would only benefit you if you’re rock crawling and you stopped to engage it. We here at Bowties and Ballistics choose to loose traction because it’s fun to spin both tires on asphalt. This is all while ignoring that the Ford cab quality is subpar. A friend of the channel’s unit has had the door wires all respliced because they cracked and caulking put on the cab around the back weatherstripping and the 3rd brake light to stop it from leaking. That was done a few years back on an F-150 that has 150k and is about 12 years old today.

You can get several different rear end gear ratios on the Silverado. My brother in law has a Silverado 5.3 with I think a 3.02 gear ratio and he is rated to tow 6100 pounds , I have a silverado with a 3.24 Gear Ratio and I can tow 9100 Pounds. these are all on the 5.3 liter engines. Ratios go all the way up to 12100 pounds .

14 is one of the worst years to buy.

First year of anything is definitely a risk. Just depends on your ability to judge the condition of used vehicles .

@@Bowties_Ballistics Agree, But when the GM company has multiple class action lawsuits over lifter problems and transmissions failing, Thats a huge red flag !
