@@Rufio1975 learning something new everyday and I really am a dumbass, two DUI charge's in a month back in 2016 I knew better and felt sorry for myself and went on an endless downward spiral. Sober as a judge now, but will always be a dumbass for doing that. Thanks though 🙏

After listening to all of Jocko’s podcasts it is obvious he is a very intelligent motivated person who will succeed at whatever endeavor he undertakes . What I noticed in this interview with his shipmate who began their navy experience together was how perfect this navy career was for Jocko at that time in his life. Whenever Jocko recounted an experience they shared together it brought back shear joy to his face filled with laughter and good times. Thank you for this further look into this warriors life’s experiences in the teams.
Going after a singular goal, like paying off a credit card, is more motivating and rewarding than tackling multiple objectives at once. Pick one and get after it. Then move to the next one.

My Dad was a Radioman in the Navy from 1960 to 1965. Just a "Regular" Sailor not a SEAL. I was TAD to Norfolk in 2005 or 2006 and went to the Radio school that he went to ( big old red brick bldg up towards the airfield) and took some pics for him. He loved it. Ive been Retired from the Marine Corps for over 10 years now. And my Dad is 80 YRS OLD. He still Cusses people out in MORSE Code in public. and uses it to talk under his breath when something pisses him off...

Jocko, I know you met my childhood friend, Bryant Young. He died on a contract. I still want to hear you say anything good or bad about him, because I want to hear anything about him after he went into the Navy.

I have the podcast feed on my phone set that I get an alert for any new Podcast, Unravelled or Underground. To listen to old friends just go right back into discussions of those 'Days of Old' it puts a smile on my face and I shed a tear at the same time. To reminisce days of old and also friends now gone. Listened to this one and now get to see the visual reactions of you both of which I was pretty close on my thoughts. Never give up that youth, it is what makes life worth living as we get older young men!
On the record , all seals are on a level playing field . But behind the scenes , some seals have a less stressful , more sleep experience than others .
From what I've gathered from all the episodes here, it seems each job trades something for another-- sleep is only one dimension of tradeoff. Other forms of discomfort and danger exist.

20 years worth of leadership and critical thinking. These guys all get out and start businesses and I don't blame them but part of me is upset that more of them aren't going into politics to help re right the ship. I understand that they have given years of their lives in service to this country but we are country being run by those who have no commitment to the constitution or the people. This isn't a left vs right thing. All of them need to go and term limits and lobbyists have to go as well.
Chris is so cool! I immediately liked him (one of those people) and I really liked that he just doesn’t seem to have that typical SEAL look, or what we expect a former Team guy to look like. Very “Clark Kent”, but simultaneously you get the feeling that he can handle himself, blow stuff up and do away with bad folks in a very matter of fact fashion. A super nice guy that will also kill you.
As you should. My grandpa was in the army on the front lines in Korea. He was more shell shocked than anyone I have ever seen. He drank a lot and died from it about 15 years ago. Enjoy your time with him, you'll miss him when he's gone.
